Why do men refuse to accept they have faults too??!!?
I've just split from my boyfriend. It was a long distance relationship which meant I got to fly half way across the world to see him and vise versa. Everything was going great until he decided that he wanted to settle down. He started to pick holes in me, the way I speak, my grammar and almost every action I did. He said it was because he loved me and wanted to help me "better myself". After a while I began to loose self confidence and slid down a path which I am still in now.
When I finally explained that I felt he was knocking me all the time he said yes he was. He wanted me to face my faults head on and tackle them. Yet he refused to see that he was the problem I was "blonde, ditzy and volatile" his words to describe me. He simply said the fault lies in me and I have to change, he was too old to play games and wanted someone he didn't have to treat as a child.
I finished it, he then said I needed professional help and should see a shrink! WHAT?!

He is quite insensitive. If he loved you he would not try to change you. You deserve to be treated with respect.

Don't worry about it. Your boyfriend was weird, but I'm sure you realize most men wouldn't do that. It's time to forget about him and move on. God bless.
