7 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoAt what point in evolution we became conscious/ashamed about being naked?
There must have been a stage in our human evolution where 'letting it hang out' became something that society frowns upon. When and why did this happen?
Remote tribes of Africa are gate way to a line of evolution without technology and even there is evidence of 'covering your bits'. What is the logic or need of evolution behind this? I can understand covering yourself if you feel cold, wet etc...but how that progressed into being self conscious is a bit of a mystery...
Please don't answer things like because of Adam/Eve etc as that is only restricted to Christianity where wearing clothes is observed world wide..
3 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoRoad in UK: Street, Road, Drive, Garden, Avenue, Close etc etc...what do they mean?
The names of the roads in UK usually end up in Road, Street, Avenue, Close, Garden, Way. Is there some sort of rule of thumb that determines what they stand for. E.g. for the road names that end in 'Close' means there is no way out of the road other than the way you went in...

4 AnswersOther - Destinations1 decade agoHow do mammals cope with wide ranging tempratures in the wild?
I'm not talking about when its so cold they have to go into hybernation, but soemthing more homely. For example squirrels in London. They are around in winter as well as summer. Neither season is extreme but its very cold in the winter and hot in summer. We (as mammals) cope by putting on coats in winter and t-shirts in summer. How do wild animals cope with the wide ranging temprature when they have the same fur all year long?

5 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoSuppose you got in to heaven...then what would you do?
You have died and gone to heaven...you made it...all those good deeds of your life paid off in the most wonderful way. Then what??
Are you proud that you made it to heaven?? But pride is sin!!
Would you just relax in eternity?? But sloth is sin!!
honestly, why do people want to get into heaven??
I think hell must be the place where the seven sins are celebrated everyday as a middle finger to god...
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat if your virgin wife got pregnant and she said she didn't sleep with anyone. Would you believe her?
This question goes out to only the christian men.
Suppose that you are recently married to your wife and you haven't yet slept together. As far as you know she is virgin and you haven't had sex yet. She gives the news that she is pregnant and its a miracle because she hasn't had sex with anyone.
What would you do with her?

6 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agowhy don't they issue an updated version of Bible?
Bible has so many contradictions, hypocrisy and false scientific facts, it has become a target for poking fun at. If people choose the bits they want believe and the bits they don't, then obviously morals don't come from god and we make choices of what is right and wrong BEFORE we pick up the book.
Not to mention if you pick what you want to believe in a book, then it is just philosophy not religion.
So why are there SO many people following a book, out of date?? Why doesn't the church take out the nonsense and issue the latest version??
By the way, I'm not religion nut, just want to know what religion people think about this.
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes Bhagavad-Gita mention the origins of universe and life?
Bible, for example, claims that God created the universe and whatnot.
I want to know whether the Gita mentions the scientific stuff like the creation of universe and life etc. The bits i have read talks about the attainment of enlightenment through inner peace and good deeds etc.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo religious people. How do you claim that your holy book is better than other religion's holy books?
At the end of the day it comes down to your word against theirs. How can you claim that your holy book is better when there is absolutely no PHYSICAL evidence to suggest the superiority??
