  • Did I say the right thing?

I went to my local Unitarian congregation for Sunday mass and there was an older woman sitting next to me. We go about talking a little bit after the sermon is over and I found out that she is a guest at the congregation just like me. She told me she just moved here from Texas and she was antiquating herself over the local chapters at various religions, looking for God. I told her that people who are searching for God will never find God, and turn out to be atheists or agnostics. I also told her that, the way people know God is when God shows itself to you: i.e. instead of you looking for God it's God looking for you. I told her that I know this because I used to be agnostic before God revealed itself to me, and ever since that I believed in God. I also stressed that my belief in God is vastly different from other beliefs of what God is.

I think I said the right thing. She seemed to be an agnostic with hope that there is a God, and that's why she was seeking different religions, but honestly I don't think she's going to find much hope in finding God through that method.

  • Can someone be your legal guardian if you are over 18 years old?

I have met a very special individual in the fact that we get along together very well. I was born in a fatherless household for much of my life and didn't really have a father figure until I was 14 years of age, but my mom didn't marry my stepdad until after I was 18 so he considers himself to be, "just another guy" to me. This new individual sees me as one of his own and practically considers me to be his son after knowing each other in about two months of time. We were wondering if it is possible for us to go to the courthouse and declare him my legal guardian. I am 24 years old, he is 59 years old. If it is possible, I would like to know the kind of rights and responsibilities we would have towards each other and how the dynamics of our friendship would change afterward,

    Thanks in advance.

  • In general, can healthy food make someone's upset stomach feel better?

I had too much soda, so I went down to my local CVS and bought nurtigrain bars (strawberry), and one of those neuro drinks (sonic). My stomach is feeling better already. But my question is - would this work for any healthy food ... I mean, if I get an upset stomach again by eating junk food could I just get any kind of healthy food and make it feel better again?

  • Should the government provide free sex to its citizens?

I think it should. We could replace Obamacare with Federal Subsidized Prostitution. Anyone object?

  • What drugs absorb through the skin?

I had a dream where I was being rubbed with a white paste that quickly absorbed into my skin and gave me a hyper-caffeinated feeling. I was wondering if there are any drugs out there that are actually like this.

  • What theory of epistemology do I fit in with?

I consider knowledge and faith to be two entirely different things. Knowledge is based on the scientific method. Knowing things means all other conclusions must be falsified. It's logical, and exterior in nature. Faith, on the other hand, can be rooted back to the word Trust. Trust is not knowledge. Trust is an internal feeling that arises from reinsurance. Reinsurance is neither trust or knowledge, alone though, it's both. Reinsurance, when it it comes from both the knowledge of other people and feeling it because it hasn't failed you personally, is the key. In this aspect, it would be considered reinsured knowledge, because it has correct definition of faith (trust - which comes from reinsurance) and knowledge (using the scientific method) itself.

  • Have we reached a post-graphics age of video gaming yet?

What I mean when I ask this, is, an age where graphics themselves are inherently considered an intrinsic part of the game. When I was growing up, the big thing was the introduction to 3D games, and what they offered. But the shift has changed to 3D games to realistic games, and now we've entered an age where ... the games with the most realistic graphics don't inherently make it the most popular or sold game.

Games like League of Legions and Minecraft are extremely popular right now, but neither have graphics that use or even need a modern processor. With the introduction to smartphone gaming, we seem to care less and less on how "great" the graphics are, and more considered about how the graphics fit to the game as a general.

Yes, there's still games being develop that always push the envelop of processing power, but I think with the success of the Wii and other devices we are looking less for those "realistic" games and looking more for "graphics that fit the game" as a whole.

I call this the "post-graphics age" because I believe, for the most part, that for this reason, most games do not need to be completely modern to advance any particular genre of video game.

Do you think we've reached that point, or do you believe there still has a point to be made for "realism" or in-general "quality" in graphics?

  • What are some of greatest, and cheapest PS3 games?

Okay, so what I do, when everybody else is running towards the stores to buy the latest consoles (X-Box One and PS4 is coming out before the end of the year), I run to the stores to get the best bargains for used and old video games for the current generation of video games.

I did it for the PS2. I must have 30 PS2 games (tbh I haven't played half of them...), but besides that point, once the PS3 came out, PS2 games got really cheap so I bought a LOT of them before the PS3 went down to 200 dollars (or was it 250?). ANYWAYS, my point is, once the PS4 is out and everybody is paying 450 dollars for the new console and buying the title launchers at 60 dollars a game, I'm going to be sitting happy still with my PS3 buying new games for cheap - for awhile.

But before that happens half a year from now, I would like to know if there are any old/cheap PS3 games I should buy beforehand. I will tell you below what games I already have (use this as a blueprint!).

Grand Theft Auto 4 (And Episodes from Liberty City)

    Max Payne 3

    Metal Gear Solid 4

Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition

    Fallout 3

    Skyrim

    Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

    Soul Calibur 5

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One

I already know I need to get the new main titles of Ratchet and Clank for the PS3 (I've already played and beaten all three major Ratchet and Clank titles for the PS2).

But besides that, I was wondering what people were thinking. I guess, just as important as the title of the question, is: where could I get these games at the best prices?

I don't think I need to say anything more... Other than, I'd like to get these games at or below 20 dollars, but the best price would be five dollars (but if it isn't worth playing, I'm not going to get it).

Okay ... if you do answer, thanks in advance! <3

  • College vs Self-Education?

I was wondering on what people thought on this topic. It seems to be pretty much the norm to go to college, and that degree itself that you get shows an employer enough for you to be "qualified" (as well as a few references and a professional resume) to get a job.

In my case however, I've had so much trouble doing both traditional college and going for an associates degree that I'm wondering if it would just be better to self-educate myself to the point where I can be a viable (and possibly better choice) for a future employer.

I already picked up a few books from the library (I looked for over an hour to find books that I needed) and I got the note-taking materials that I need to educate myself. I don't know whether in the future putting something like, "Self-Educated: _____" and fill the books and maybe even possibly show the notes I wrote things down would impress an employer or would make them think I was wasting their time.

Either way, I do plan on doing this because I have other tricks I want to do before I get a traditional job, but I was just wondering for the sake of something to fall back on - if it's necessary one day to go back to college (which I don't want to do, ever again) or if disciplined self-education could possibly be "the new thing".

Let me know what you think.
