Should learner drivers fail their test for going 1kph over the speed limit?
Queensland is about to bring in a new rule of zero tolerance to speed limit infringements. At present it is only a minor error to exceed the speed limit by 1-4kph.
I think it would be dangerous for drivers to be checking their speedo when they are merging into another line of fast traffic for instance?
The examiners are supposed to increase the proficiency testing in high speed merges and lane changes as well - I don't think you can have both.
What are the fail criteria in other States and Countries?
I have heard in the U.S you have to merge into a gap at the speed of the line of traffic, not necessarily the speed limit?
This would make sense from a safety point of view?

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks10 years agoA judge ruled against woman who tried to sue my friend,as she lied under oath.?
My friend had to cut a small section of his concrete driveway out as it encroached onto his new neighbor's property. he did this in the time allowed but was taken to court by his neighbor 7 months later as she was prepared to lie that he did not cut it out in time.
My friend won the case, because he could prove the time he cut it out, but the judge gave the woman no fine or reprimand for perjury. What should he do to prevent this happenning again as she is fabricating evidence against him for stalking and rape!
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHas anyone (from anywhere) been failed on their driving test for exceeding the speed limit by only 1 or 2 k/hr?
Some driving instructors are recommending that learner drivers be failed for any excess of the speed limit, even if only momentary!
6 AnswersCommuting1 decade agoAre there any States where learner-drivers are told to slow down before the corner, but accelerate out ?
In my State learners are encouraged by the Transport Department,to NOT let the steering wheel slip back through their grip as they exit a corner, but if you need to hurry out of a blind corner, say, it's impossible to push-pull the steering wheel back without losing control. What is the best way to turn a sharp corner?

8 AnswersOlympics1 decade agoWhy do most drivers not indicate out when exiting a roundabout?
Is it because:(A) They physically can't operate the indicator when both hands are actively steering the car.
(B)They don't know the road rules.
(C) Couldn't be bothered, other drivers should be able to see which way I'm going.
(D) In my state it's not required.
6 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWhat is the safest way to accelerate out of a tight turn? Let the steering wheel slip back,or grip it back ?
I have noticed drivers who manipulate the steering wheel out of small intersections tend to drive very slowly and need more time to get through the corner. This can be frustrating in congested traffic.
