  • What should I do...I want you opinion?

Ok I would like some opinions of what I should do. I have a full time job but I am currently working part time at ULTA (retail cosmetic, fragrance and salon) for some extra money. Myself and many of the people I work with have been getting very frustrated because it seems like there is always a problem with our work schedules. I have requested several days off in the last month and they always seem to schedule me anyways. We don't really have a strict policy for requesting time off. They just want us to fill out a form stating the time we need off and then we put it in a box for requests off. When ever a approach the store manager to tell her there was a mistake on the schedule and I am not available to work she always asks me to find someone to take my hours. I don't think it should be my responsibility to find someone to work my shift when they are the ones who have made the mistake and not me. I dont know what I should do. My store manager is a good person but I dont think she is able to do her job properly. I am contemplating going to her manager who is the District manager to see if she can get something done about all of these mistakes. I dont really NEED this job but I dont want to loose my job either. People have already told me that they know that the District manager and the store manager are good friends so I dont think anything is going to be resolved. Its not just me, there is alway someone who has a complaint their schedule is wrong and they just ask around for people to work their shift. I dont think it is fair! What should I do?

  • Shots for 14 month old pit?

What shots are most recommended? When I got him when he was about 3 1/2 months old I had the vet give him all of the shots they recommend. Lately I've heard a lot of people say that they dont really need all of the shots.

A little info to help you help me. He is an indoor house dog, I dont leave him outside unattended and he doesnt play in durty water so I dont think he needs the shot that protects from ticks. I have never had to board him and he doesnt go to doggie daycare or anything so I dont think I have to worry about kennel cough. I dont know all the other names of the shots. Would it be ok if I just get him his rabies and distemper? Any suggestions or website where I can get additional info would be great. Thanks!

  • Assistance in Cook County IL?

I work with a 73 year old woman who is currently still working to provide medical insurance from her slightly mentally handicapped daughter who is in her early 40’s. They live in Cook County, Illinois. She claims there is no assistance for her daughter because she is not considered disabled and is capable of working. Her daughter has been working part time at their local public library for 16 years. She does not work full time so she is not entitled to their benefits and will probably never be promoted to full time or offered insurance. The woman I work with is worried about what is going to happen to her daughter when she is unable to work and is unable to provide medical insurance for her daughter. I believe there has to be some kind of program that would be able to help her daughter. She claims she has done everything she can but has not found any assistance because her daughter is not actually disabled. Can anyone help?

  • Whats a good dog food?

Ok Im in need of some suggestions of dog food for my dogs. I have a schipperkee who is 2 years old and about 18lbs (she is average size for the breed). I also have a 1 years old pitbull who is about 60 lbs and he is on the skinny side. I have been feeding them Iams for most of their lives and they just seem to be bored with their food so I am looking for something that is good for them that they will like. The problem I run into is the schipperkee is a small breed and my pitbull is a large breed and I have always been told that they should be eating two different kinds of food. I usually buy the small breed and the large breed dog food. They each have their own bowls but they seem to go back and forth because I think they think the other has something better. So I guess I would like something that is going to be good and healthy for both of them to eat. Any suggestions a greatly appriciated. Thank you!

  • What are the best days of the week to travel?

I am planning on going to Ft. Lauderdale Fl in the next few months (prob. Aug/Sept) and Im wondering if there is a better time of the week to travel. I want to get the lowest price on my flight and I know it is usually more expensive to travel on the weekends rather than on a week day so I just want to get some idea of when to travel. I did a search and the lowest tickets I found were around $250 is this a decent price?

  • Do pink and white acrylic nails turn yellow from indoor tanning (tanning beds)?

I want to get my nails done with the pink and white acrylics but I am worried they might turn yellow. I have had regular acrylic nail in the past and they turned yellow from tanning but I heard that the pink and white arcylics won't. Does anyone know if this is true or if there is a clear polish that I can use to protect them from turning yellow? Any advice is greatly appriciated. Thank you!

  • What can I use on my nails?

Im looking for something that will help strengthen my nails so they wont continue breaking off. I used to have acrylic nails but i dont really want to have that dont again because it causes the real nail to become thin and split. When you take them off they damage your nails. I have also used almost all nail strenghteners on the market but I still havent found anything that works. Can you suggest something other than a nail strenghtener that will help make the nail strong without damaging it?

  • Where can a tall girl get nice jeans?

I am 5'9 and I have trouble finding jeans that fit me. I am a juniors 15 or a misses 16. Not only do I have trouble with the lenght of pants but I can find any that fit my body type. I have big thighs and a big booty but a small waist and narrow hips. Strech jeans seem to work the best for me because they tend to strech where they need to but are not too big in the waist. I cant wear jean from OLD NAVY or New York and Company because they hips are too big and they are too small in the butt area. I really dont like buying jeans online because most of the time they dont fit and it is a hassle trying to return all of the time. I live just outside of Chicago so I can go to just about any department store. Please help!

  • Best allergie medication?

Wondering what over the counter medications you think are best to treat seasonal allergies. I have indoor and outdoor allergies but the pollen is what gets me the most. I live in the midwest so the trees are starting to bud and I know that they are going to hit me any day now. I work two jobs and I am a very active person so I need something that is non drowsy. I dont like nasal spray but if that is something you suggest I am willing to try it. Im also wondering if allergie medicine is something you need to start taking a week or so before they actually start working. I heard someone say that it doesnt start working until you have taken it on a regular basis for a few days. Is this really true?

  • Is it time to move on?

I am a 25 year old female with no college degree and I have been working as an Administrative Assistant for the same company for 4 years. I started out part time and was promoted to full time after a year, the following year my job title and duties changed stlightly. I just recieved my third review last month and my boss had nothing but good things to say. I'm having mixed feelings about the company and my supervisor. She keeps giving me great reviews with decent raises but keeps promising that things are going to change and she is going to train me on new things and send me to classes and yet nothing has really changed. I just dont know if I should stay and try to wait things out or if these are lost promises. I am afraid that if I try to wait it out and nothing changes that I am going to have a hard time finding another/better job in the future. Will other employers view my loyalty as a good thing and look beyond the lack of experience? Can anyone give me some advice?

  • Why cant I trim my pitbulls nails?

I have a 1yr old pitbull who is about 75lbs and he hate having his nails cut. I have tried several times at home by myself and with help and he just wont sit still. I have taken him to the groomer (dropped him off) and they said he was fine. Recently I took him to PetCo to have them cut and he still wouldnt let them cut them. He is not very aggressive but when it comes to having his nails trimmed he growls, barks, scratches and even bites. We muzzled him and tried holding him down but even with three people we weren't able to keep him from hurting us or himself (he ripped his dewclaw trying to get the muzzle off and we all had scratches everywhere) and we were only able to get one paw trimmerd. I just dont know what to do anymore. He scrapes his own nails down in the summer but in the winter they get very long. I need ideas of what I can do at home because I don't want to have to keep taking him to the groomer every other week. Please give me some suggestions.
