  • What’s the appropriate job title for me to put on my resume for the following scenario?

What’s the appropriate job title for me to put on my resume for the following scenario?

I am a minority owner in a small business. (With revenue of about $300k to $500 k /year. That number is revenue, not profit. Profit = revenue - expenses)

My main responsibility is primary EVERYTHING TECHNOLOGY related in this business. It could be fixing commercial refrigerator, audio amplifier, computer LCDs, LCD TVs, computer hardware to choosing the right electronic equipment, build and setup Linux/windows servers, find the compatible computer component to the highly proprietary (and locked) version of Linux server / clients we use. Database conversion and database entry. Software testing (Linux) and working with programmers offshore to fix the bugs I found in order to customize the software to suit our need.

My targeted position is telecom engineer (I am already one, just thinking about jumping ship.) I do have a 4 year degree in electrical / electronic engineer. The position I should put in my resume for the above company (which I partly own) is?

    1) The maintenance guy? (As one of my employee jokingly put)

    2) system administrator? (But that’s not all I do.)

    3) minority owner? (I did more than that.)

    4) manager? (I don’t really manage day to day business but I do have the ability to.)

    5) CTO? (I am really hesitated to put this.)

    Any feedback is appreciated.

  • oil change for cars planed to be parked for long time.?

Basic info: Have a Ford F150 based SUV. uses gas (not Diesel). Primary use for this vehicle is for summer road trips. (don't even carry insurance when not in summer.)

Just back on 6000 miles road trip. and now cancelled the insurance on the car.

Does not plan to drive this car For next 9+ months (not even starting the engine)

Should I change oil now or change oil before I start driving next summer.(and why is one option better than the other?)

(No, I do not plan to do both now and then park the car for 9 + months and change oil again!)

    Thanks in advance for advice/suggestions.

Which one is safer? (as far as static electricity speaking, cause obviously jerry can is harder to get punch thru.)

Is Safety provided by metal Jerry can really worth that extra price?

also, what's the best(safest) location on SUV to carry extra fuel? (inside? in the back with a hinch cargo carrier? or on the top with a rooftop cargo carrier?)

Any insight, suggestions, comments is appropriated. going on an expedition where only 1 gas station between 450+ miles radius.

  • Real technician needed to help with Bosch WFR 2450 Washer door stuck issue.?

Real technician needed to help with Bosch WFR 2450 Washer door stuck issue.

Door is stuck in lock /close position.

Emergency release tab is broken off (on the bottom right front of the washer where you normally drain water manually)

So I tried to open up the washer to pull the “plastic cable “ from inside, after 25 minutes of pull and push the door still doesn’t open ….except I broke the cable as well….. so there is nothing more for me to pull the door open. What else I can try?

Do I have to completely disassemble the washer now to unscrew the lock and have it replaced? Or do I have other options?

    Any suggestions would be appricated.

  • Customers fight to pay for the bill?

Customers fight to pay for the bill?

You probably seem it or even done it.

It’s a part of Asian culture. Questions for both server and the customer.

When customers fight to pay for the bill, I normally offer to split the bill. But there are times when they continue to fight for the right to pay. I know all about Asian culture, (like never fight the people senior than you, as a simple respect, you may offer it but not fight for it. For example, a guy should not fight his aunt to pay for the bill) but at our location, 95% of customers are between age of 15 to 30 (same generation. So it’s unlikely that will ever happen)

    In the first scenario:

One customer is regular customer and one is not, (again, same age group)

As a server, should I accept the payment from regular or non-regular?

In the past, I normally take the payment from regular customer because I am afraid I may upset them if I don’t…….but come to think of it, maybe I shouldn’t. Because a regular customer may still have an “invisible budget” at our location (says $300/month) (He may not even be aware of this limit mentally) so once that amount is reached, he is lesser likely to come back for the rest of the month. And I don’t want that to happen. So what would you do as a server? And if you are that regular customer, please tell me the truth, are you really going to be upset if I accept the payment from someone else?

In the next scenario: Both are not regular customers, (again, I normally offer to split the payment) but if they refused, how do you normally as a server to select which credit card or payment do you take it from? (guy over gal? Someone seems older over someone looks younger? Whoever shows payment first? Whoever offer to make payment orally first? Etc)

Any suggestions from other servers or feedback from customers are appreciated

  • TRANE Gas Furnaces issue, help!?

    TRANE Gas Furnaces issue, help!

    Make/Model: TRANE TDE080A945M1

What’s working: The fan motor part is working and rotating fine (so blower unit is working fine)

What’s not working: no flame, just fan. The flame will probably show up 1 out of 30 or 40 tries. But most of the time no flame at all.

What’s the error message: LED shows 4 Flashes ---per manual it’s “ Open Temperature Limit Circuit”

What’s replaced: Open Temperature Limit Circuit already replaced.

    Result: same issue.

I am sure Open Temperature Limit Circuit is no longer the issue as we have had used multimeter to make sure it’s “CONDUCTING” (CLOSED CIRCUIT) at normal room temperature.

We have also used a paperclip wire to basically skip this safety switch altogether. But still NO FLAME at all when we turn up the temperature from our thermostat

It appears to me there are total of 4 Temperature based safety switches (1 mentioned above which is inserted into the metal tube) 2 on the metal part next to where gas goes in, 1 in the duct. And did check all 4 to make sure it is “on” (closed circuit) at normal temp.

I also notice there is a PRESSURE SENSOR which I am NOT sure if it’s suppose to be conducting or NON-conducting at the normal air pressure! But when I blow or suck on it it did toggle between on/off (conducting / NON-conducting)

We also checked the little transformer to make sure it’s taking in 110 and output 24 volts (which it is, 117V/27V respectively)

The other thing we tried is bypass the pressure switch by using paper clip to connect the wires together. Still no luck (no flame)

AT this point I began to suspect if it’s the mainboard issue?!?!

    My first question is

Is the PRESSURE SENSOR supposed to be conducting or NON-conducting at the normal air pressure?

What else can I try to troubleshoot from here?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Very strange speak problem in car audio system.?

Very strange speak problem in car audio system.

Current setup: Factory stereo+after market amp+ after market sub (installed by previous car owner)

    What’s happening:

    1. Most of the time, speakers are not balanced, Even if I move the “balance” all the way to the left, no sound come out from driver side. Occasionally it will fixed by itself for 30 seconds and then it go back to the old unbalanced status again.

    2. Very often, there is hissing sound (like someone blow light whistle) coming out from the speaker on the passenger side (front) speaker ONLY whenever I pressed on gas. And sometimes ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS on the passenger side for 10 seconds will fix this issue and sometimes not. Also sometimes turn off the stereo for few seconds and turn it back on will also take care of it.

    What have I tried:

    1. replace entire stereo/CD deck (does not take care of either issue)

What could be wrong? The wire or the amp? Or the speaker itself?

  • A concept question regarding Java's recursive thinking?

A concept question regarding Java's recursive thinking?

When the compiler compiles your program, how is a recursive call treated differently than a non-recursive method call?

    A. Primitive values are all treated as reference variables

    B. Reference variables are all treated as primitive values

    C. There is no duplication of local variables

    D. None of the above

11 hours ago - 4 days left to answer.

  • a concept question regarding Java's recursive thinking?

    22. This question is appropriate if you studied a flood fill (which was not part of the text). Suppose that a flood fill starts at the point marked with an o in this diagram:

    24. XXXXXXXXXX

    25. XX XXXX This is row number 1

    26. XX XX XXXX This is row number 2

    27. XX o XXX This is row number 3

    28. XXXXXXXXXX

Suppose that the first recursive call is always left; the second recursive call is always right; the third recursive call is always up; the fourth recursive call is always down. How will the rows be completely filled?

    * A. Row 1 is filled first, then row 2, then row 3

    * B. Row 1 is filled first, then row 3, then row 2

    * C. Row 2 is filled first, then row 3, then row 1

    * D. Row 3 is filled first, then row 1, then row 2

    * E. Row 3 is filled first, then row 2, then row 1
