  • Is my Kirby Vacuum Cleaner feeling tired?

When I pull it behind me with the hose on (rather than the Carpet Cleaning head) it follows me for a minute or two and then it lies down and I have to go and pick it up. There is plenty of loose cable behind it so I don't know what is wrong. Also when using the carpet cleaning head on a carpet it pushes the dust, cats hairs and bits of paper in front of it so when I have finished making pretty lines on the carpet I have to get down on my knees and brush up the dust and stuff myself. then I have to go over it again to make those nice lines where I have crawled on the carpet and spoiled them. It all seems a lot of hard work which the cleaner should do, rather than me! Should I send it to the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Retirement Home or is there some medicine I can give it, maybe it needs a tonic? Its only 3 years old and it cost me more than $2500US.

  • my car has been totalled, should I get a replacement car or accept the Insurance company's cash offer?

The car was less than a year old when a car drove across my path and I had no chance of avoiding it. The other driver is being prosecuted for failing to stop, he didn't check to see if there was anyone driving across his path. The insurance company will give me as near as possible to the original car or payment of the cars new value - which should I take? Am I likely to get more car if I take their offer?

  • Can I plug 2 computers into one data cable at work?

I use both a laptop and a desktop computer at work and need to transfer data between them. Rather than use a memory stick or plugging and and unplugging the cable into one computer and then the other, is there an easy way to send data from one to the other? My IT department is never very helpful and everything they do always takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money.

  • Too literal?

    1) I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the clerk noticed I had not signed my name on the back of the card. She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless it was signed. When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to compare the signature I had just signed on the receipt. So I signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared the signature to the one I had just signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched.

    2) I live in a semi-rural area. We recently had a new neighbour call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the Koala Crossing sign on our road. The reason: too many Koalas were being hit by cars and she didn't want them to cross there anymore.

Its not always appropriate to publish your reply in a public forum, so let people email you. If you get emails you dont want you can delete them, or set up a yahoo account just for replies to postings in yahoo answers!!

  • Why do Toshiba take two weeks to supply a new motherboard for my laptop?

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60 which I bought about 15 months ago. It had a new mother board in December because every time it shut down I got a Blue WIndows screen. Recently it not powering up properly and I took it back to the dealer (who also repairs Toshibas). They told me it would take two weeks to get a replacement mother board and they cannot work out why the battery is no longer charging. Since I need a computer for my work I am effectively not working for two weeks - what can I do?
