I have an indoor cat & have noticed she likes to chase and eat flies and spiders. I feel guilty over keeping her inside & having her spayed - feel I am making her miss out on being a proper cat.

So..... I've been mulling over whether or not to get her some crickets to eat (as reptiles do) for a long time now.

Before I go ahead and commit to buying a tray of mini-beasts I'd like to know if anyone else has experience of feeding their cats unusual small insects.

- Are they poisonous to cats?

- Can they infest my flat if the cat lets them escape. What's the worst a damage crickets can do if on the loose in a house?

- Undoubtedly someone will have issues over the ethics involved, please feel free to voice your opinion in a rational way.

- Has anyone else found something their kitty likes to eat (apart from live birds & mice & goldfish -she seems to lack the drive to kill my pet goldfish though ample opportunities have cropped up. The most she has done is grab one from the bowl in a sink during a water change and leave it on the floor)

Any answers much appreciate, also if any vets are browsing your opinions will be invaluable.

I think I pretty much know the responses I'm going to get but still...

I just don't like him & am can no longer be bothered to make the effort to be civil.

I know relationships are a 2way street & i can't blame him for everything but I dislike him because:

*They've had 3 years of on/off & I have to hear about easch time they make/break up

*He told her she's not perfect enough for him

*She's never met any of his friends/family

*He's shagged around & kept a girl in another country - (she's says they had an open relationship but he knew she was inlove with him - yes she's cheated to make herself feel better about his liasons)

*She spends 30 mins talking on the phone with him during dinner

*She invites me around to her house then spends hours cooped up with him in her room with me like a lemon downstairs

*blah blah blah

I'm just sick to death of hearing about him&have decided I've had enough:

Do I just grin & bear it, or tell her I no longer want to see/hear about him???

Does anyone else see a modern-day Viking/Norseman-come-Biker when they look at him?

Everytime I look at him I'm transported back a few hundred years.

Does anyone know where his ancestry hails from?

I think she's fantastic (talented sportswoman & beautiful) but current 'competition' doesn't do her justice in allowing her to pit her skills against an entertainer anywhere near her abilities.

(Sorry if the wording is a little off - Beth is too good for the competition & it never seems like a fair fight. Kinda like pitting a cat aginst a large dog - yes the cat will scratch & bite but ultimately the dog will savage it to death.)

Why do horses have to be put down if they break a leg?

Why can't it just be splinted until it heals???
