When brushing my cat, I noticed there are tiny white specs of dry skin on her coat. She is fed Iams dry food and is an indoor cat so that probably contributes to it.

My vet has told me to try giving her some tuna in sunflower oil or adding a bit of olive or vegetable oil to her food but she is extrememly fussy and will only eat tuna in brine or will not eat bicuits with oil all over them. I could give her a small bit of wet food with oil in it each day but generally when there is wet food available she will not eat her biscuits.

Does anyone have any ideas for trying to add oil into my cats diet short of shoving it down her throat which I will not do, or any other remedies for treating dry skin?

What vet says that pups can be sold at 6 weeks, I don't like the sound of him/her, would also be wondering if the pups have even seen a vet at all?

Just wondering if there are any laws against this in ireland, I know some states in america have but Im not sure about Ireland?

What are your opinions on this? If there are any breeders here, what is the minimum age you would sell a pup at?

Today we had to bring her to a cattery in the carrier in the car, she howled the whole way down (which was about an hour) and she peed in it aswel.

I tried leaving it out last night and she loved it, she slept in it all night but the second the door (its got an attachable door) went on it she was cautious but not scared of it, I still got her into it easily enough but when the door was closed and the carrier was picked up the howling started.

She was on the floor of the car in between my legs with a jacket covering the carrier to block the light and sound out but this didnt help at all.

Putting a harness and lead on her and letting her sit on my lap is out of the question.

Is there anything I can do to help calm her down?

Surely any dog that wears one of these only behaves out of pure fear and this collar must be agonisanely painful!

Anyone have any tips for training a cat to walk on a harness and lead?

Is it normal for a cats whiskers to fall out every so often? Her whiskers arent thinning out or anything its just I find the odd one around the house every few weeks. Are they like fur, do they just fall out every so often and grow back?

Also does anybody have any good solutions for reducing the amount of fur that the cat moults, I have kept cats before and none of them moult as much as much as my current one. She is a spayed female that is permanently indoors and I brush her with one of those wire brushes. Reccomend any good brushes?

My gerbil has an infection on his stomach since the 16th of July. He has already seen the vet twice. I was told it was just a little absess. He was first put on a 2 week course of antibiotic and has since had two stronger courses of antibiotic, it is now the size of a 2 euro coin and is full of pus and is a raw pink colour. Has anybody ever experienced this before or have any advise? He is 2 1/2 yr old male mongolian gerbil.

Is it cruel to not let a cat outside and keep it permanentely indoors even if I live by a main road where she could get run over? She has lots of toys and gets lots of attention but I sometimes find her staring out the window for ages?

Iv heard so much about them on this site. Are they tropical fish or something?
