I like to play footbag once in awhile and am currently attending community college (again!) I also am a kidney transplant recipient for one and a half years. Donate Life!
To the person asking about killing their kittens:?
I have not yet seen an appropriate answer to your question. As far as it being legal here (I'm a 4th generation Oregonian), I don't really know and you shouldn't really be worrying about that. I'm not sure which part of Oregon you're in, but first of all, WHY is your cat not spayed?! You really should make this a learning opportunity. Start at animalaidpdx.org and surf from there. I'll leave some phone numbers. Call these places, they can help you, refer you to nearby help in case you're not in the Portland metro area and tell you what to do with the kittens. Second, let the cat have her kittens, but call around for advice FIRST. Don't wait until she has them. Be prepared.
Here are some numbers to get you started:
Animal Aid: 503 292 6628, Cat Adoption Team: 503 925 8903, Dove Lewis Animal Hospital: 503 228 7281, Multnomah County Animal Shelter: 503 988 7387, Oregon Humane Society: 503 285 7722.
P.S. If you don't know how to break their necks, it won't be fast and painless. There ARE laws against poisoning. A gun would be the only way, but don't do it. There are places that will take them and people who will help you.
3 AnswersCats8 years agoHow much was I at fault for my cat's death?
I took my 14-1/2-year old cat (my absolute favorite cat) in for her booster shots. Exactly one week later I had to have her put to sleep because her kidneys were failing. I feel now that I shouldn't have given her the shots because she rarely went outside, and when she did, she only laid in the sun in the driveway. I think the chemicals were too much for her. Do you think her kidneys were starting to fail anyway, and the shots just hastened the inevitable?
11 AnswersCats1 decade agoShould I put my birds in a smaller cage?
I have a lovebird and a cockatiel in a large cage in a room I do not frequent very often. My roommate sits at her computer with her back to the cage daily. I have a very hectic schedule, and feel I am neglecting them. If I put them in a smaller cage (a cockatiel cage), I would be able to move the cage around to where I am in the house, and also allow them to be outdoors in the summertime. Do you think it would be better for them to have room to maneuver in a large cage, or more contact with me? I know my lovebird needs much attention. Thank you.
3 AnswersBirds1 decade agoAre there any anti-bacterial sprays you can use on your dog?
I had a kidney transplant recently and need to be very careful about bacteria. I have some pain that makes giving the dog a bath so frequently not a very good option. I just caught her rolling on a dead shrew (like a small mouse). I'm willing to take my chances, but was just wondering about a simple solution.
8 AnswersDogs1 decade agoAre these stereos any good?
JVC KW-XG500, Pioneer FH-P8000PT or Clarion DUZ385SAT
I'm looking at these particular decks because of their size - they would probably fill the hole of my stock '03 Ranger stereo. I don't really want to just plug up the rest of the hole with a plastic plug.
I've read reviews, and they all sound good. I don't need one just yet, but my cd player is starting to skip when it gets bumped. I'd only like to spend around $200 or so. I'd like to know of someone's personal experience. My last aftermarket stereo was a Pioneer Premier, and it seemed to develop problems fairly early. I would like to hook up an iPod connection through my glove box and then use a remote.
3 AnswersCar Audio1 decade agoWhich do I choose? A kidney transplant or dialysis?
My kidneys are failing. I am a very active, outdoorsy person. I snowboard, ride dirt and street bikes, go camping. I occasionally take snowboarding vacations and camp for a few days at a time. My doctor is trying to prepare me for dialysis. I'm freaked out. Would a transplant be best for me? I worry about the drugs making me fat or puffy, but it seems like dialysis would really cause a scheduling problem. Today the doctor mentioned getting a fistula soon. Is it as gross as I think it will be? If I have a transplant, I don't have to give up alcohol, do I? I very occasionally smoke a little weed. Is this really bad also? PLEASE HELP!
