Do you have to have a 100% result to pass a test to apply for training as a Captioner? There was only two or three questions I had doubts about and I still didn't pass! ...and yes I have studied formal traditional grammar and punctation even if I don't always use it online.

I am seriously fed up with seeing insecure or racist teens using Anthropology as if it was some kind of chat room to invite people to play this what race/group am I guessing game? Can we ... should we get yahoo to label these questions as violations so we can report and block them?

and blocking the dumber creationism evolution questions would be good too

okay there's a famous sequence of short poems called the wang chuan ji the wheel rim river

they are 20 poems by wang wei a tang dynasty poet

i previously found a site with the chinese text of the whole sequence but teh site has gone into cyber limbo before i could copy all the poems

other sites 've googled only have the chinese text of about a thrid of the sequence

i can get the text on and offline in english translation but i would like to be able to read and work my way however slowy thru the whole sequence in chinese

anyone know where i can copy or download the whole chinese text ?

I have just acquired a new computer that supposedly has internal wifi but I'm wondering if I still need an external modem or router to improve my signal. I'm typing on a different computer.

At home I use a wireless plugin modem in a card slot.

So any advice for a newbie ? Hotspots? Where? Which need passwords?

The new computer / vaio notebook will be used when I'm at Tafe or the Library or the Mall or elsewhere. All these places have hotspots but I have no idea how to use them or set my computer to use them?

To my horror I have recently discovered that certain "friends" and acquaintances in my online social circles have been regarding some of my updates and posts on blogs and FB as spam.

Basically I have been posting updates whenever I finish a new design and upload it to Cafepress or Red Bubble and then doing a FB / blog update inviting people to take a look and send feedback or let friends and family know about the new design.

I had explained to them I was asking for help I have no start up money for advertising and requested help with word of mouth PR which I thought was not an unreasonable request.

Many of them were aware of my financial and medical situation ie I can only work part time .

I now have no Xmas sales cos I relied on "friends" to help and offended by having my requests labelled spam.

I wasnt bombarding people with messages every day which is what I would regard as spam?

An invite to view art and help with PR is spam?

I have PR'd my Cafepress Shops and Red Bubble Gallery on Twitter Facebook and my Blog but this hasnt increased my sales the least or attracted any commissions.

Yet this works for other people? What am I doing wrong!

over sounds better in english but I suspect Nirvanas would have used a different phrase if asked to translate himself?

How many other moderate liberal Christians and others here are fed up with seeing questions in which the poster says I am Christian but the question makes it obvious by Christian they mean conservative evangelical / pentecostal protestant cult / sect of the sort that thinks any one who's not a fundamentalist isn't really "Christian"!

I sometimes get reported as being in violation of Yahoo guidelines cos I point out to people their very simple easy question could be answered by a trip to the library or using google or wikipedia BEFORE they come here! If people cant get to a library or are banned form using google or wikipedia they should say so and not report experts out of spite!

I have a Classics M.A. and I do not get paid for donating my time here.

If I say your question is an easy one you can answer using google there's a high probability I'm right!
