6 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agobreastfeeding and alcohol?
I am breastfeeding my baby and have had a few drinks this evening (7 units) this was spaced over a 6 hour period. I have given him bottles whilst I have been drinking alcohol. What I'm wondering is, when will it be OK for me to breast feed him next? I know i have to give 1 hour per unit, but is this starting from now, or will i be ok to give him his next feed in 4 hours? I dont feel drunk at all, not even tipsy! thank you!

1 AnswerPregnancy1 decade ago2nd pregnancy head is engaged!?
I'm 39+4 weeks pregnant with my second child, I have read that 2nd time round the head doesn't normally engage until labour? At my ante natal check up yesterday my midwife confirmed that baby's head is engaged! So do you think this means labour is gonna come sooner rather than later?! I'm so excited!
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agocan i file or cut my kittens claws?
I have a 9 week old kitten with very sharp claws. the problem is, she claws things when playing but doesnt seem to know how to retract her claws so ends up just hanging and meowing off the curtains or furniture until someone helps her! She was stuck to my bed for 30 mins the other day before I realised!
I have had kittens and cats all my life but never had this problem before. Its not my furniture I'm worried about, I just don't want her stuck to the curtain one day when I'm out and being left hanging there for hours! I thought maybe if they werent so sharp they wouldnt catch so easily! She doesn't go outside yet so its not like she needs her claws to defend herself or to climb!
I'm hoping she will learn in time how to release herself but until then I dont want her stuck! any ideas or advise would be great :)
10 AnswersCats1 decade agolosing weight at 38 weeks pregnant?
I am 38 weeks pregnant, 2 weeks ago I weighed myself and since then I have lost 5lb! I have been eating LOADS and not done any exercise.I have gained 21lb during this pregnancy. I read somewhere that it is common for women to actually lose weight in the last week of pregnancy? Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do you think its a sign baby might be coming soon? Or is that just wishful thinking?!
19 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agomy friends child is a bully!?
my friend has a 5 year old boy who is a little bully, he picks on my 3 year old. today at a mutual friends childs birthday party they were in a ball pool and this little boy was hurling balls at my son, whilst telling another child "he had it coming" and that "he deserved it". In the past he has thrown toys at my son and cut his lip as well as calling him names. He doesnt listen to any adult when he is told off and runs circles around his parents! how do I approach this with my friend? I have stopped my son from going mixing with this child but its difficult as it would be nice to be able to meet my friend and go for lunch and days out with the kids, but I'm not going to take my son to be bullied! any advise would be great. She really needs to get control of her son but I'm not sure its my place to tell her that?

1 AnswerBaby Names1 decade agocan i spell the name Shay with a C?
can i spell the name shay with a c?
I am pregnant with my second little boy, my partner and I love the name Shay. No other name has come close! The only problem is my partners surname is Melly, so the babies initials would be S.Melly. Could I spell the name with a "C" ? Like... Chay or Chae? or would this change the pronounciation? I just don't want to set my child up for being bullied, on the other hand, if kids are going to bully a child would they not find something to pick on anyway? Any thoughts or advise would be great!

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoI had a fast birth last time, will this next one be the same?
With my first child, My waters broke at at 38 weeks at 3am in the morning, with no contractions so I went up to the hospital only to be told I'd probably be sent home as I wasn't dilated and baby could be 48 hours away. Luckily they decided to keep me in for an hour and monitor me anyway. Just as the midwife came to take me off the monitor, I started having contractions. These werent little cotractions, but full blown contractions really close together. They ran me a bath for pain relief (obviously thinking I was being a wimp!) but while I was in the bath my body started pushing! The midwife examined me and told me babys head was there! The labour was very quick and I gave birth to my son at 5.49am! From contractions starting to having him was about an hour long!
I'm now 34weeks pregnant again and have been told second babies come quicker! I'm panicking now incase I dont get to the hospital on time! what if my waters dont break this time so I'm not already at the hospital! I have loads of braxton hicks since about 12 weeks, sometimes its constant for hours at a time! Has anyone else had a similar experience and had a normal birth second time around?
