Any help; I lost my wallet!?!?
Alright, I lost my wallet. I'm 17 years old, so this is a pretty huge deal for me. Any money that I had (around $160) is lost with it, along with my license. This means I'm unable to drive and purchase gas, since that money was the only money I had after I was let go from my old job once they closed down. I was planning to budget out my money for gas until I found a new job, but now that's obviously impossible. I had my social security number written on a small piece of paper in the back, but it was unlabeled and probably illegible to most. Still very concerning.
My biggest fear is confronting my parents about this. They're already unhappy that I'm unemployed. If they learn that I'm now broke and have to get a new license, they might snap.
I've tried searching everywhere for my wallet along with my friend (I was at his house). We suspect that it might have been stolen by someone who came over later the night we lost it, but she denies and there's no way to prove she has it. She got very defensive since she's my friend's ex, but I'm not sure if that's a good sign or bad sign. We tore his house apart and searched every logical and illogical place for the wallet, but nothing turned up.
My questions are these:
1) How should I approach my parents? Should I tell them I suspect it's stolen or just lost? What's the best way to tell them?
2) What should I do about the situation? Is there anything I *can* do?
Thank you guys.
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance8 years agoWhat should I do, guys?
First off, my girlfriend and I are both 17, both seniors in high school. We've been dating for nearly a year (January 7th) and I'm finding myself more and more conflicted over whether or not I should continue the relationship. Everything was fine for the first few months, but things got rough both sexually and emotionally and have continued on that path up until now. She gets upset thinking about college and graduation and the fact that she doesn't think she has a large social circle or anything. She uses me as an example of someone who's got things going well for them - I know where I'm going to college, have scholarship opportunities, and have a lot of friends from different social circles in our school. She repeatedly gets upset in school during class, sometimes crying while teachers are giving lectures. I don't personally understand her sadness or why school needs to be the place to let it out, but I guess that's more of a male/female emotional barrier. I've been talking to a few other girls (just friendly chats and stuff) and am starting to think that perhaps a break would be a good thing, or just throwing in the towel altogether. My only reservations are that she has an awesome family that really likes me, she hasn't done anything to me to make me *want* to break up with her badly, she adores me (not sure why, there), and I don't want to feel like a year of my life has been thrown away.
I know this is probably a typical high school problem, but I just wanted to get some feedback from people who have more life experience than me. Should I wait until after our anniversary? Should I just ride the storm and see if things get better? Try to force things to get better? Should I ask if we could take a break for a few months? Or should I end it altogether ASAP?
Thank you so much guys. I hope I don't sound like a jerk, because I do really love her and I don't want her to be completely devastated. I just don't think it's fair if one of us isn't happy to keep it going just for the other's sake.
4 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoHuntington's Disease?
I'd like to know my chances of having Huntington's Disease. My grandfather had the disease and probably died due to complications from it. He had three daughters, my mother and two aunts. Both my aunts have the disease, one older and one younger than my mother. All three are in their forties, with the eldest approaching fifty. My mother refuses to get tested for the disease both for money and her own personal reasons.
If the disease hasn't shown in her, then is it safe to assume she doesn't have it? Or can it appear in her later 40's or even her 50's? If she does have it, what are the chances my brother and I could have it?
The possibility is extremely frightening, and I'd like either some peace of mind or confirmation of my fears.
2 AnswersOther - Diseases9 years agoMy Xbox 360 keeps on freezing; why?
As I turn on my Xbox, everything goes pretty smoothly. The logo appears, then the screen goes to my dashboard. About 6/10 times, my Xbox will freeze at this point, even as the advertisements are loading and I'm signing into Xbox Live. If not, then it may let me start up my game, sometimes it freezes there as well. If I do get into a game, playing online is nearly impossible, because at the end of any match the game will freeze.
I've taken out the hard drive, and there's no dashboard freezing, though I can't check online play. I'm assuming this means that there's something wrong with my hard drive, though I'm no expert.
Does anyone have any similar experiences? And if so, have you found any solutions other than sending in the Xbox or replacing the hard drive?
Thank you very much.
3 AnswersXbox9 years agoWill the world really end in 2012?
Is there any evidence supporting the fact that the Earth will either cease to exist as we know it, or humanity will come to an end during the year 2012? Is there any reassuring facts that would help support that the end won't come? Are some of the theories out there just dead wrong? Like Planet X, Mayan Calender, Polar Shift, are all of these just elaborate schemes to make money on TV shows and blockbusters like the movie "2012"?
Please answer; if you're a scientist or other respected mind, I'd really appreciate a scientific viewpoint.
Also - Why is 2012 getting so much attention while Y2K came and went nearly silently?
7 AnswersPhilosophy10 years agoWhat did people with bad eyesight do before eyeglasses?
I'm just curious as to what the ancients would do when confronted with such a problem. Was it not as widespread before the invention of glasses (that seems illogical), or did they learn to get by without good vision (also illogical)?
10 AnswersOptical1 decade agoGamestop Return Advice?
Okay, I'm looking to buy Dragon Age Origins (+ the Expansion) next time I roll into Gamestop, and I'm a little low on cash. By the end of the week I should have somewhere around $30-$40 spare bucks. I'm not looking to spend all my spare money on the game, so I've decided to trade in a few old ones. If anyone is an employee, or just knows Gamestop pretty well, how much do you think I could get for these games?
Halo 3
Fable 2
"AC/DC Live" Rock Band Track Pack
Guitar Hero: Metallica (Very poor condition, not sure if it even runs anymore)
Fallout 3: Broken Steel and Point Lookout Expansion
Fallout 3: The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage Expansion
Also, do they take PC games? Because I have Rome: Total War and Medieval 2: Total War as well.
Thanks in advance, guys.
3 AnswersXbox1 decade agoI need help with a girl? Please?
Okay, I just "facebooked" this girl I haven't seen in about seven years, and she's gotten really pretty. She goes to a different school and everything, but not that far away from mine. Within a half-hour driving distance.
So yeah, she "turned" bisexual (I don't believe it, myself, although I'm fine with it), she's gotten into dying her hair and piercing her lips, but she's extremely cute. If, say, I wanted to attempt and ask her out in the long term, what could I do to get myself on the path? Start talking again, obviously, but what else?
Also, sophomore in high school, can't drive. Don't know if that'll help.
Thanks.
7 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoAnyone have guitar lessons?
Alright, my friend wants me to join his band, and has let me borrow one of his lesser quality guitars, an amp, and obviously the case and pick. Basically, he taught me what everything on the guitar was called, the neck, headstock, frets, strings, blah blah blah.
Problem is after that, he left. Leaving me to figure out how to play by sometime in October. Is there anything that people out there can tell me? I know that a lot of guitar players (By the way, he wants me to play rhythm guitar if that helps) were self taught, but how? If there are any free online instructional videos and/or guides that someone can link me to, please do.
And if there are any people who have tips and pointers to give me, I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks!

I've been in the mood for a good star wars game, and I have an Xbox 360. Take out the Force Unleashed, and what other good games are out there? Xbox games will work too, they're compatible on the 360.
Thank you.

4 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoQuestion for Christians/Catholics specifically?
I am indeed Christian, I was born and raised Presbyterian. However, I prefer the term non-denominational. I believe that Christ was the savior of humanity, and I believe that good Christians will go to heaven, and morally "bad" people will be doomed to hell if they don't repent.
But, I don't believe that the Pope is God's man on Earth. I think that the pope is the biggest false prophet that ever walked this Earth, as every Pope before him was, and every Pope after him will be. It's ludicrous to think that God would pick a normal man out of society to be His mouth and to speak His word. If any of you believe in the passage that refers to a being now known as the 'Anti-Christ', then you'll know what I say when I believe that every Pope has been the equivalent of this evil, trying to make Christians believe in his word around the globe, creating the Catholic subdivision of Christianity. Isn't this what the Bible tells us not to do? Shouldn't all Christians unite under the word of the Bible, not a man who is not God?
My question to Christians, Catholics in particular, is why you would think that the Pope should be a religious leader when the only person fit to be one was Jesus Christ.
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCould someone help me w/ weightlifting questions?
Okay, I'm 14, just turned 13. I've heard this is a great age to start weight lifting. I'll describe a bit about myself first. I'm just over 5 ft. 8 in., and last time I checked, I was about 170 lbs. But I'm not all fat. I admit that I'm "flabbier" than some people in my class, but I'm also thinner than others. I'd fall right in the middle. I've wanted to lose weight for a while, and dieting doesn't work very well for me. So, I've decided to start lifting weights. The high school I go to has a nice weight room with all the basic equipment I would guess I'd need.
Okay, my question is this. For a person of my size and age, what would be the best approach to start weight lifting and losing weight? My friend (Who is on the football team) is going to try and weight lift with me as much as possible. Today at school he had me do a 'pyramid' with him, if anyone is familiar with the term. I also started bench pressing, but could only lift the bar and 10 extra pounds. Not that great.
Are there any specific lifts/stretches/exercisesthat anyone would recommend I use/try out? Thank you.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness1 decade agoGuitar Hero/Rock Band Compatability?
I have a simple question regarding Rock Band/Guitar Hero. I am aware that Guitar Hero "guitar controllers" can be used for Rock Band, and Rock Band guitars can NOT be used for Guitar Hero, but can the Guitar Hero microphone be used for Rock Band, or the other way around? (Rock Band mic compatible for Guitar Hero) Thank you.
