What is Wrong With Me!!!?
I can't ever be Happy, Satisfied, or Relaxed. I am 27 year old who started a $60/yr job in September doing exactly what I wanted to do. I just hate myself. I am depressed all the time, really anxious and stressed out, and despite all my accomplishments I still feel nothing (like they never happened). In the Navy couldn't wait to start college everything was going to be better in college. College sucked I was stressed out, obsessed with grades, considered a B failing, and I was poor living in a tiny room. I thought my misery was just my situation but what excuse do I have now. I have a new good paying job, new vehicle, and townhouse. I have been to psychs and therapist but no one ever gets me. Anxiety no Depression no Bipolar no ADHD what next. I have a lot of trouble interacting with people, obsessed with work, never can sleep. I have no one to confide in, when I tell my family they get mad, say I am ungrateful, or think I should be committed (maybe I should). I am addicted to pain pills that I was taking for a legit condition but now they are a problem. They just make me feel relaxed and positive, which is precious to me. I have no right to feel this way. I need to be destroyed. I use to think about killing myself but things would get better right? Guess not. It is not that I want to die I think I need to die, I am just too broken. What should I do? Psychiatry always seems to let me down. I feel closer to the information systems that I manage than I do to people (maybe I can find a way to connect human nerves to systems...they have to operate on similar principals). I am just so unhappy :(
14 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoGoing Crazy, Scared to Tell DR?
I have constant ups and downs throughout the day. When I developed a genetic condition that caused a lot of pain and things got worse and I became suicidal. My parents walked me to a psychiatrist and I ended up being diagnosed with Bipolar. That has been a while ago and I have been on all kinds of meds. I think I am getting worse. I feel like everyone is looking and talking about me. I am getting scared at some of my thoughts. I was upset that people were not returning greetings when I would say hello. I thought about caring a gun and when somebody didn't say hi back then shoot them in the head. I don't own a gun or have ever hurt anything but thoughts like that scared me and I really spent several hours thinking about how I would do something like that before I realized I was insane. I keep thinking about killing myself and the method has to be decapitation. It isn't that I want to die I want to get my head off my body. I am getting ready to graduate college in the winter and have a lot of summer classes. My grades are good and I will grad with honors, It seems I gained intellegence at the expense of sanity. I am afraid to tell my Dr. everything. I don't really trust him and I feel they might lock me up.
3 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoShould I trade in My Car?
Because of some stupid financial moves in my life I had refinanced my car twice since buying it new in 2002 while serving in the Navy in Iceland. I am currently in School and will graduate in december 2009 and I currently work as a student systems administrator making $10 working 30hr a week. I have around $4500 left on the loan and 26 months till it is paid in full. The interest rate on this car is 10.75% which is crazy. I don't know what my best option would be. 1. Pay it off and get a new car in a couple years or 2. trade in the vehicle and get a better interest rate. Any suggestions
1 AnswerBuying & Selling1 decade agoDiscriminated for being enlisted?
This actually happened in a mock interview,
I spent four years as a system administrator for the Navy in which I received two NAMS for network security and lan administration. I have also served in IT postions while in school. So I was doing a mock interview with a company and I was discussing my experience and they asked me what kind of officer I was in the Navy. When I told him I was a IT2 and a E-5 he was like "oh" and rolled his eyes. After the interview for the feedback he said I should not exaturate my navy experience because a enlisted sailor would not be doing that kind of job the career that I would get into would require officer experience. What the !@#@! !! This isn't the first time it has happened to me. It seems like when people find out that I was not a officer they put themselves into a superior position to me and just assume that I am average or below-average student who is not going anywhere. I am graduating next december with honors from a major university. I have some problems emotionally with self-esteem and a inferiority complex for my enlisted experience. Not to say that the Navy was a bad experience but those of you that were enlisted understand the "lower" regard and assumptions labed on to us IE stay in your paygrade. I have looked into officer programs not because I want to get back into the military but because I feel like I need to be a officer to move up in life and when I meet some veteran that was a officer I feel nervous and subordante to him or her. Has anybody else experienced this and if so how have you coped.
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoShould I get a MIS Degree?
Hello Everyone,
I plan to graduate with a BA in Business Administration Major Management in December. I plan to continue in the IT industry and I am curious if it would be worth the extra year to get a second degree in Management Information Systems. I have a lot of experience in this field as I was a systems administor for a ship in the Navy, worked on a peoplesoft implementation at my school, and currently serve as a student systems administrator (so about 6 -7 total years of experience). I am kind of fed up with school so I thought that my experience and management degree would let me move into a IT job after graduation. Don't ask me why I didn't go into MIS, I couldn't answer that. I never got any certifications either (I am working on A+ now, next will be MSCA). Ulitimatly I want to get into information assurance get my CISSP certification and become a security expert.
2 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoWalmart Store Management?
I really want to get into store management at Walmart. I am a very good college student GPA 3.79 and I graduate in December. I spoke with the Walmart recruiter at the college fair and she told me to fill out an application on line and the management process will start closer to when I graduate. I filled out the online portion and passed the tactical leadership assessment. Should I get a job with my local walmart as an associate and work there until I graduate? I am curious whether it is better to go strait into the assistant manager training program or start as an associate. I spent four years in the Navy and I now that once you enlist that it becomes harder to become an officer so I want to make sure that by starting hourly (part-time) at walmart I wouldn't open any problems. Second, anyone who has been in the position what did you think of it. Do you like your career.
2 AnswersCorporations1 decade agoMeasure of Intellegence?
The reason I ask this question is I think I did very poorly on an IQ test administered by and employer that resulted in them not to consider me for a position. I am a senior in management and I have a GPA of 3.79. I am in the university honors program and I have done very well in all of my class (never lower than a B). I have serious issues with mental math. I have received A's in all my math and stats classes up through calculus but I am really bad without a calculator. The IQ test I took consisted of 50 questions and I had 12 minutes to complete the test. I couldn't do any of the math questions mentally so I skipped them and did the vocab insted. Am I just good at school but not really intellegent? I have tried so hard in school thinking that I would be considered based on my merits and coursework but it seems that I am going to be weeded out by these IQ tests.
7 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoHelp me Choose A Management Job?
Hello Everyone,
I am about to graduate with my degree in management and I am considering several options.
First my acadimic situations: I am a honor student with currently a 3.79 average, vice president of students in free enterprises, president of the operations management club, founder of campus military veterans association. I served an enlistment in the US Navy. I don't have the best work experience I was in leadership roles in the navy as a E-5 but after going to school I focused on studies and have been in and out of employment (GI Bill helps with living expenses). I have been very involved in organizations and leadership.
Now the type of job I want. Basically I want to manage a large group of people. I have had some experience since getting out of the Navy and I know that I do not want to work in a cubicle situation. Everyone thinks I am crazy but I have been thinking about trying for an assistant manager position with a large retailer like Wal-Mart or Target. I think I may be well suited for a supply/logistics or production operation as well but I don't know if I could find meaningful work in the current economy. Any help would really be apperciated.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoIt looks like I am going to kill myself?
I am in constant physical torrment. Nobody can find out what is wrong with me. I can't stand it anymore. When I go to the emergency rooms they think I am just a junkie. Nobody can give me anymore hope. I can't live like this. They diagnosied me as being bipolar and even said the pain is in my head. I hope that is what is said that killed me. I hope that somebody will do a autopsy on my body and find out what is wrong with me maybe then others won't have to suffer. It is a shame there are things that I wanted to do but I just wasn't ment to live this life.
13 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoI don't Believe in God but I want to.?
A while ago I used to be a faithful christain but now I am a atheist. My family gets mad at me when I say I don't believe in god and honestly I really would like to. It seems to me that people with religion are more happy and can take crisis better. I am in terrible physical pain now and really have no one to turn to and the doctors have abandon me. In times like this I wish I had some belief. My personality questions everything and since my time in the military and now at school I have just become cynical. All of my training in the sciences indicates that though we cannot rule out god we can't rule out the world was created by a magical unicorn either. Is there anyway for fairly educated people to have a true beleif in religion. The concepts of christianity sound absurb to me but I would really like to believe again and find some closure and sureness in my life. Please be aware it was not my attention to insult anyone or any group in my post.

I am going to open a computer store this summer and I would like to know how to determine the local demand for a product. This would let me know which products to sell and around what prices. I would like to make my decisions based on statistical findings and I will need this to approach the bank.

3 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoIs is better to be addicted to pain med or suffer with pain?
Hi have terrible back pain. I have been to every doctor and we just can't find anything. The pain will go way beyond an ache and get the the point when I can't even lift my leg. I have a hectic live as a student and I take hydrocodon when the pain gets to me. Usually one tablet per day at night. My dr is completely against taking pain med and says I will get addicted. It just seems to me that I would rather be addicted then in terrible pain. I take other steps as well such as working out and watching my diet but it doesn't always work. What should I do? How should I approach doctors so I don't get labled as a drugiee?:(
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management1 decade agoOrtopedic Surgeon for chronic Sciatica?
I have had severe alternating sciatic pain for the last two years. I have done a MRI a year ago and x-rays. I have seen a sports doctor, neurologist, reumotoligist and we haven't be able to pin down the problem. I have tried several meds and I am on a Physical therapy schedule. Things alternate between ok and bad a lot and i am distrubed because I am only 25. I am going to ask my doctor for a referral to a good othropedic surgeon. I have been under the impression that these doctors are good and finding out what is wrong. Does this sound like a appropriate next step? What should I say and bring to the dr. to get the best results?
5 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoHow Can I Start and Continue to Eat Healthy?
I live a fast past life and I have never learned how to really cook. Therefore, I basiclly live off of fast food. When I try to eat healthy I switch to having salads but then either get sick of it or hungry and I always return to bad habits after a few days or week. How can I effect a lasting change in my behavior and is there any tips for those with limited food preparation resources?
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoWill I eventually Kill Myself?
I seem to have a very strange mind. Some of the time I am very motiviated and optimistic about the future, I am a honors accounting student, I want to own my own business, ect. However, some of the time (several times per day) I get really aggitated and want to kill myself. I've had some medical problems with my back and if I feel that at all I immediately go to suicidal thoughts. What concerns me is the shear intensity of these moments. I have looked for a gun, held entire bottle of benadrly pills in my mouth and spit them out before I swallowed. I feel that I actually disappear from my body durning thes moments and my mind not my own. I have pretty much conceded to the fact that I am going to die this way so I try to do as much good as possible.
I went to a doctor and diagnosed as bipolar but stopped meds after complications. It may simply be that I am being called to the other side. I don't really understand spirtiual matters. Thanks for you time and advise.
20 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoChronic Hip Pain what do I do now?
I have had horrible sciatic pain for about a year and a half. When things first started we thought it may be anklosin spondilitis due to a positive hla-b27 but their is absolutly no evidence in x-rays and MRI. I am only 25 years old and I struggle with terrible pain 24/7. I have gone to chriopractor, been on all kinds of narcotics, I currently see sports medicine dr whom says I have a hyper mobile SI joint and has me doing physical therapy. I just don't see any end in sight and I don't want to have this for the rest of my life. Does anyone have any suggestions?
7 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWill I ever get better?
I am in terrible pain in my right SI joint area. This has been a ongoing problem for the past year and a half. I have HLA-B27 in my blood and I have had a case of Uvitities so the VA doctors said I might have AS. My x-rays, MRI's, are perfect no problems what so ever. The pain even went away for the most of the summer. It has come back bad and I have started to see a sports medicine doctor. He believes that my pain is from weak muscles gluteus media, that allow my SI joints to move to freely. He put me on physical thearapy and says I should make a full recovery. I just don't know what to believe. I don't want to always be in pain and I know I can't live like this anymore. I have thought of just taking all of my medicince at once and getting it over with. Has anyone had a problem like this and could over some words of advice/encouragement.
