California Rose
I am 33. Some people say I look something like Jillian Michaels (if only in the face, because I am not as "buff" as she is by far). I am not interested in dating anyone on Y!A, so do not ask. Also if you must know, I am not as thin as my avatar, and no it does not look all that much like me. It is so sad that so many of you are so desperate for "arm candy" that you must send me messages asking such questions. I am what you might call a "Free Spirit". I do as I like, and nobody has the right to tell me I am wrong (nothing illegal). I am Child Free and plan to stay that way, becuase I had my tubes tied! Overall I am a happy person, except when I see abused animals. Until recently I worked in the human fertility and sterilization field. I am switching to veterinary medicine. I find that I get along with animals better than humans. I like riding bicycles, hiking, and walking on the beach.
Why are there so many Childfree women, but not so many men?
Childfree means can have children, but chose not to.
All men who are single soo want someone they can knock up. No thanks guys!
Geez, no wonder so many women in San Francisco are gay.
7 AnswersGender Studies6 years agoHave you ever protested anything, and did you think it out first?
Back in 2004-2009 I worked in a vasectomy clinic near Downey California. We performed vasectomies, tubal ligations, prescribed birth control pills and other things. Our charter prohibited us from performing abortions. We were NOT an abortion clinic. However there was an abortion clinic about three blocks away, in a less desirable part of town. Evidently it was difficult to locate.
Often the “Pro-lifers” would picket outside our office (usually only for a few hours in the morning on Saturdays). We used to laugh at them. One time we thought about offering coffee and donuts to them, but we felt that was not prudent. Company policy prohibited us from talking to the protesters. I guess the protesters did not notice that almost all our clients were men. Last I knew not very many men had abortions! Hahahaha
One day a male client went outside and told the picket group that they had the wrong address. They stood outside talking for quite a while, and then they left. That must have been pretty embarrassing when you consider that they had been picketing us almost every weekend for three years.

Exactly why would you let some man with an IQ about half the size of his ego get you pregnant?
It is a pretty good bet that that oversize male ego was there long before you met “Don Juan”. I suspect that if he had a problem with “nose candy” he had it long before he met you.
If he has too big an ego to use a condom, get a vasectomy, or better yet, both, then maybe he has too big an ego to be with you?
5 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoI work in a vasectomy clinic, and there were protesters outside! Why?
Now this one really amazes me. I have always believed that most protesters are not of the educated sort. I often wonder if they work because they have all day to hold a sign.
This group was really pathetic.
1. Their signs said, “Abortion is Murder”. I am glad to hear that they stand for something, but do they know that we do not perform abortions here?
2. They took their kids out of school and had them holding signs as well....Maybe I am wrong, it might be spring break.
The police showed up. I am pretty sure the one was cited for throwing down a cigarette butt. Anyway, they gave up after about four hours.
My question is exactly what drives these people? Do they bother to read? Do they know what they are protesting? Do they just do this for entertainment? What do they accomplish....everyone was ignoring them?

Just wondering. I think it is peer pressure.
1 AnswerParenting1 decade agoSocial implications of the Childfree?
I am 26 and have never been married. I dated my former fiancé up until about two years ago. We never talked about children. He one day decided that we should get married right away, and have a baby. I told him no, because I want to further my education. He broke off the engagement.
I am not ready to call myself childfree yet, but I am sure I will never be having children. I will likely seek sterilization sometime in the next year or so. I am just a little nervous about it.
Anyway, I started dating about a year ago. It is not been very good. I usually don’t make it past a first date if I make mention of wanting a career over babies.
Is this just me? Don’t guys like intelligent women? Just maybe I want someone that loves me form my brains.
