My bosses(husband and wife) are Sikh. I have researched Sikhism, and understand it pretty well. I agree with most of the basic priciples of the religion. So my question is this...Why do they treat people who have wealth, differently than those who don't? Especially, when it is primarily the ones who don't have a lot of money, who keep them in business? Also, they live in a beautiful home, and yet their business if quite frankly, very disorganized , not really run the way it should be? All the while, seemingly living a double life while saying the daily prayers, and practicing the 5 K's. I want to give you an example, so that you better understand what I mean. Today, a pregnant woman came into the store. Her car had broken down, and she had walked a good ways to get there. She was very hot and tired, and she asked for a glass of water. My boss told her she can go and buy a bottle of water from the cooler. She didn't have any money. So I told her I would buy her a bottle of water. After she left, he got mad at me for doing that! I just didn't understand how he can be that way, and call himself a Sikh. Now you may say it's only him, not all Sikhs. I have met many of their extended family, as well as friends, and they all seem the same, with the condescending attitude. Problem is, other than having to deal with them, I love my job.

Most recent example...Oklahoma tornado. I know it's great to have the technology that's available today, but why do people want to see the faces of suffering victims? How awful for the media to have to go to these locations and seek out those who have been physically and emotionally devastated, and ask for an interview! Yesterday, it was adults being shown mostly, then today I see all these little faces being shown on the news. They're already going to relive this nightmare for years to come, and now they will have the images to help reinforce the trauma. I think we should collectively say that this is not what we want see reported on the TV and internet. Do you agree, or disagree?
