  • Private or public school?

I am currently in private school and was prepared to go to a good, top public school for my 2nd year of high school. However, I was offered a full scholarship to the private school i am currently attending. I cannot decide which school. I am really excited to go to the public school. Private schools are too small for me. I do really well in school and play volleyball. Thanks for the help!

Will I still have the same college opportunities at a public school? Scholarships in college?

  • Do you have any thoughts on my writing?

Thank you for taking your time to read my writing, and I would like for you to criticize it as best and as harsh as you possibly can. I am only a teenager and am well aware that my writing is not that of an adult, but I hope that with each plot I write I will become better. Thank you!

I stared on hopelessly at the scene of Carson Knight and his girlfriend, Aubrey York. From the looks of things, it wasn't going too well.

Aubrey threw her thin, pale arms into the air, shaking her multitude of bangles and shouted, "I don't know, Carson!" her hands returned to her sides, "Maybe if you gave me a reason to!" She moved her hands to her hips. Carson looked on desperately with huge, blue eyes, most likely sensing the words he and I both knew would escape Aubrey's glossy lips if he didn't speak up. She widened her narrow, hazel eyes and set her mouth, waiting for Carson to say one thing that would change her mind from saying it...

Her lips parted, Carson hunched over in defeat, speechless, "We're done," she said icily, flipping her dirty blonde hair over her shoulder. She abruptly stepped past him and continued across the school green, hardly noticing the stares she'd acquired, or if she had, she didn't show it.

I felt the rough stone wall behind me as anger rose up in my chest. With every step Aubrey took, my heart raced faster and faster. Without thinking, I yanked my weathered, black backpack off the green lawn and marched in her direction, already forming the perfect words to-

"Hey," I heard right before I knocked straight into Carson. I'd been too focused on Aubrey one second ago to even notice him.Immediately my emotions changed from hatred to sensitive as I looked sympathetically into Carson's eyes. He couldn't show emotion if he tried, but I knew he felt it.

"Hi," I said softly to him, trying not to upset him further. Around us, all the regular buzz of end of school banter carried on without any hint of the fight-and breakup- that had just occurred.

"Don't do it," Carson said, his stare searing straight into my skull. With his dark brown blunt haircut and above-average height, he was already unapproachable enough, add his death glare and he made some people want to cower in a corner. Atleast I did when we first met.

"Do what?" I pretended to be unassuming, but he knew exactly what I was going to do if I'd caught up with Aubrey. Carson glowered down at me but I stared right back, not afraid of him at all, because, despite his appearance, if anyone saw him smile they'd know he was harmless. Plus, I refused to back down, because that would only make Carson believe that I wouldn't have gone over to Aubrey and layed down the law if I had to.

I twisted my face into a goofy grin and went crosseyed, knowing what would follow. Carson's lips started to spread into a smile, then began twitching as he tried to hold back his laughter. Finally he let his emotions take over and burst out laughing.

The kids had substantially cleared off the green now, but the remaining ones glanced at us. I grinned normally back at them, and they turned to their conversations again.

"You're so weird," Carson said, smiling. Right then he was the image of the guy that I knew and cared for. Then, as if he remembered what role he was playing, he went stone faced again, shutting down at the mere thought of Aubrey.

"Right, I'm the only one," I said sarcastically. A gap in our conversation followed straightaway, and I knew he felt it too.

"Well," Carson began, hitching his cheap, dark green backpack onto his left shoulder, "You ready to go?"

I ran a hand through my dark hair, trying to untangle some knots I'd inadvertantly accumulated over the day. "Yeah," I answered easily.

Carson took his first steps toward the sports fields down the hill below the green, the grass appearing newly mowed. I quickly fell into step with him, our usual after-school routine falling into place. An unspoken tension hung in the air as we silently made our way into our neighborhood. The rest of the walk home was silent albeit the sound of our footsteps.

The traintracks, which we occasionally walked parallel to, were crossed without hesitation, the train not passing through until much later at night. Carson pointedly walked straight down the slight hill from the tracks to the backyard of someone's house, who we didn't know the name of even though we trekked through their yard every day after school, then continued up the street to his own home, his fists jammed far into the pockets of his khaki-colored cargos. All I could do was try to keep up, which was kind of difficult for one of two reasons. The first being that his legs, and strides, were much longer then that of mine, and the second being that I was in flip flops, while he was in sneakers.

Here I am, stuck in a hay bale maze with my two best friends, Joshua and Cheyenne. I just want to escape the never ending hay and the horse smell that is seeping into my nose and clinging to my clothes. Little kids keep running into me and stepping on my toes. We have been walking for two hours and only seem to get lost more and more with every step. Did the end of the year party have to be a carnival with an absurd hay bale maze?

“We should probably call for help considering the sun is setting and there’s no way in hell we can find our way out in the dark,” Josh, Mr. Negative, starts to pull his Blueberry cell phone out of his pocket, but hesitates. I guess he remembered that there is no one to save us, considering every kid at this school either hates us or is scared of us.

“I know! We should jump on the hay bales and walk on them until we find the exit!” I begin to maneuver my way to the top but keep slipping downward, because my hands cannot get a firm grasp on the hay. My body finally slips to the ground, but I turn to my right and see Cheyenne ascending the hay bale wall with ease until she is at the top.

“I guess I’ll help little Naomi up the big steep mountain. Come on, I can totally see the exit from up here!” Cheyenne triumphantly smiles and helps me to the top. We look down to Josh to see if he is coming, but he just shrugs.

“Do you need help or can you make it up by yourself with your largely shaped muscles?” Cheyenne and I burst out laughing because we both know Josh is the scrawniest boy we have ever seen. He always wears a hoodie to cover his arms, but his skinny jeans are definitely skinnier than mine. You can’t help but love Josh though.

“Shut up! And no I don’t need help, but I think I’ll just walk next to you from down here. I have a feeling one of you is going to fall flat on your face,” Josh just laughs and shakes his hair out of his face. He is probably five foot nine inches tall and still growing, but yet he is afraid of heights. I look towards the exit and see at least two hundred people playing games, riding the rides, and eating carnival food.

We keep walking on the hay bales and joking around until we hear Josh clear his throat, “How exactly am I suppose to get to the other side? And no I’m not going to smash through the barricade of hay!” I look toward the dead end and down at him to offer my hand, but he slaps it and swiftly climb-jumps up to the top. He resembled a lizard trying to climb a tree.

I look down to see three teenagers with black sweatshirts on with the hood disguising their features. It is the first time I have ever seen guys who didn’t look preppy, besides Josh, near our school, Franklin Christian. Franklin Christian has the same kind of people with the same style, and it is rare to find someone different. That’s how Cheyenne and Josh became my friends. The three guys slowly creep their way through the maze; but since the sun is gone it is hard to keep my eye on their black jackets.

“That was weird, you never see any variety around here,” Parker says the same thing I was thinking.

“Hey, whose idea was it to go through this maze?” As I said hey, a guy in the group of black sweatshirts came around a corner and looked right at me. It was hard to make out his face, but he is tall and little curls peek out from his hood. Cheyenne nudges me and when I look at her she has a devious grin on her face. Before I can ask she jumps down the seven foot tall wall and lands perfectly on her custom made Converse, right in front of the guy.

“So, what do you want?” Cheyenne candidly asks the guy. I quickly contemplate whether or not to jump down, but before I decide I feel someone push me from behind. I start to become unsteady and try to grab something, but nothing is in reach. My body begins to fall off the tower of hay, but instead of landing on the ground face first I crash into Cheyenne. The pressure from my fall forces her legs to cave in, and we both collapse.

I am too stunned to get up immediately, but I feel someone lightly kick me. “Um, are you okay?” I peer up, but hear Cheyenne moan under my dead weight. “Here,” the guy offers me his hand, but first I roll on my back and then take his hand, and he pulls me to my feet. I wipe off the dirt and hay from my shirt, pants, and arms and help Cheyenne to her feet.

“Thanks, but you didn’t have to kick me. I was already hurt from the fall,” I direct my attention to the guy and he seems startled by my frankness. Cheye pokes me in the back trying to remind me to be nice. I give him a sheepish grim and mutter the word sorry.

“Well, I didn’t really know what to do. You pretty much fell out of the sky and you almos

  • Where can I find a cross body purse for Juniors?

I am looking for a cross body purse, because I usually lose other purses or wallets. I am looking for one under $100. I have looked on multiple websites such as Macy's, Roxy, PacSun, and Hot topic. I love all colors and colorful things or a black purse. I love the coach purse that is flat and goes over your body that is black, but it is too expensive. I don't want one that has fringes on the bottom or studs. I would love some advice on where to find one! Thank you so much!

  • What is the difference between Baptist and Catholic religion?

I am Baptist, but my daughter and I are looking at possible high schools for her. I am not sure if I should send her to a Catholic High School, because the way they teach things are different from those of a Baptist.

I do not know a lot about the Catholic religion. Would there be a big difference if she went to a Catholic High School. They have mass and what is reconciliation and all the confessions? I know that in Mass, Catholics take communion.

    Thank you!

  • What does Revelation 4:6-10 mean?

    Revelation 4:6-10 (New International Version)

6Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." 9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

I am trying to understand this, but I do not know what this relates to or what it means.
