Registered Nurse who has/is working emergency, correctional, pain management, pediatric trauma, and PACU. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, learning to fly, SCUBA diver, have a son in the Army (Hoorah), and is married to a retired USMC SSgt. (Semper Fi).

  • Article 138 for the Army. Is there a specific form or is it just a memo sent through the chain of command?

Then why sign a contract for a specific MOS, train for it, (have close to a million dollars spent on your training). Then be told that even though your current company does not rate your MOS and it is illegal for them to have you, you are only an E4 and they can do what they want. Does that make sense?

So in this case would Article 138 be the correct way to register a complaint? Then how long does the command have to respond? This will go to the IG if not taken care of.

  • How many of you have ever had a "ghostly" experience?

When my husband was killed in 2001, I would go to bed at night and wake up thinking he had tried to hold me. I would smell cigarette smoke in the house where he NEVER smoked. Sometimes I would hear a motorcycle reeving its engine just outside my bedroom window and yet there was nothing there. I also have a picture taken app. 6 months after his accident that appears to be a skeleton-like face looking out of the sliding door of the house. This happened not only to me but to others who stayed in the house. Most of them would smell the smoke. No one else ever saw anything. I also ended up buying a new car a few months after his death. Around 2 years after the accident, I smelled cigarette smoke in it and I know he was never in the vehicle. My visitations disappeared after I got married and moved, but until that happened, I had them on a regular basis. Has anyone else ever had such experiences and care to tell about them?

  • Why does the federal government waste my money voting on nongovernmental issues?

I just went to http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votingrecord.xpd. That site lists for me the voting records of my federal representative and state senators. Why is the federal Government voting on such things as:

  • How quickly can a Mantodea (or Praying mantis) change coloration?

I have checked a few websites. They all said praying mantis' are masters of camouflage and make use of protective coloration to blend in with the foliage, both to avoid predators themselves, and to better snare their victims. However, I haven't found anywhere that stated how long it takes the insect to change coloration if it moves from say a brownish area to a green leafy area.

  • Is it a good idea for the public to be able to obtain concealed guns permits?

Many states allow the public, not just law enforcement, to carry concealed guns. Depending on the state, the person has to either pass a written and practical test and/or attend a specified length of course. Although some states make it harder than it really should be. In addition, the person has to pass a criminal background check, be a US citizen, and follow certain restictions once the permit is issued. For instance, not to carry one into an airport terminal, Federal court house, and to not be drinking and carrying. What do you think about this idea? Should all citizens be required to carry and know how to use the gun they carry (show profiency)? Would this help to deter or reduce crime? Does this fall under the Second Admendment?

  • Is TSA really keeping you safe while flying?

With all of the news about the plot discovered by the British involving the liquids, is TSA taking all of your perfumes, toothpaste, shampoos, and similar items really keeping you safe? After all, the plot was discovered before anyone ever got to an airport. Do you really think that airport security could have prevented the bombings? After all, the list of restricted items is available to anyone, and that includes terrorists.

  • why do people no longer show respect during the national anthem?

I have noticed that at athletic events (baseball, football, basketball), NASCAR events and so on that people and participants no longer pay attention during the National anthem and the flag raising. The right hand is not placed over their heart in respect. During Parades as the flag passes, the majority of people do not stand to show respect for our flag. This bothers me. Most of us have had family members (uncles, brothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandfathers) who gave their life for this country. This disrespect has even carried over into the miltary and the wearing of the flag on their right shoulder. The flag is being worn backwards according to the published flag ettiquete because....now get this... the UN wanted them to!! What ever happened to the respect our flag used to receive?

  • How do you feel the US should deal with North Korea?

North Korea is still refusing to come to the nuclear negotiation table until the US lifts its financial sanctions. Should the US lift the sanctions placed after the fake US curency was released a few months ago.
