  • Can a pet snake and pet cat live in the same home?

My husband and I have 4 cats. Before we moved in together he had 2 corn snakes. he gave them up, because the cats were climbing on top of the tank and generally harassing the snakes. Can pet cats and pet snakes live happily in the same home? Any recommendations for happiness for both creatures? Thank you!

  • Why don't people listen to a phone greeting?

We've all had that experience where you answer the phone, "Thank you for calling "whatever place" at "wherever", and the callers immediately asks, "Is this the ______ at _______?" Why do you suppose people don't listen when the phone is answered? Have you caught yourself doing the same? I'm a receptionst and I get these calls all day; it drives me nuts!

  • Vacation Destination Suggestions?

My husband and I are trying to decid where to go on vacation this summer. We both would like somewhere with a nice beach, but still plenty of other entertainment. Preferably not Florida, as we live in GA, and have been there, done that, many times. Also, can't afford international travel right now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Do you think the widespread media acceptance of homosexuality is confusing kids today?

I don't mean this as a judgemental statement, at all. With so much homosexuality in the media today presented as "cool", do you think a lot of young kids are "coming out" just to get attention or fit in? For myself, I just don't think a kid can make that kind of lifestyle decision, when he/she's still figuring out who he/she is. What do you think?

  • Bed-in-a-Bag sets?

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to purchase inexpensive Bed-in-a-Bag type sets? I've searched EBAY and all the local stores I can think of. No one has much of a selection. I'm looking for something under $50. I live in the metro-Atlanta area, if you know of anywhere local. Thanks!

  • Asking in a more appropriate category...Nature Vs. Nurture...?

Are evil people (rapists, serial killers...) born that way, or are they shaped by their experiences? There's no wrong answer, but I'm curious to hear other's opinions on this. I'll post my own opinion after the question's resolved.

  • I'm considering a career as an Administrative Assistant...?

Does anyone have any advice for me? Particularly if you are or have been an Admin? Are there any classes I can take outside of a standard University? Thanks a bunch!

  • To people who speak in Ebonics, black or not....?

IMO, it makes the speaker sound stupid. I know this is not always true, as I've met plenty of otherwise intelligent people who speak this way. Why would you go out of your way to sound like you don't know proper English? Do you think it makes you "cool"? Do some just honestly not know any better? Not discriminating here, I just don't get it. Thanks!

  • Why smoke?

Why? When you know that you are exponentially increasing your chances for lung disease, lung cancer, mouth cancer, respiratory problems, and any other number of ailments do you still choose to smoke? I understand it is an addiction like any other, but for those that do not attempt to quit, why?

  • Why do people ask medical questions on here?

I can understand asking for a homeopathic treatment for poisin ivy, but people ask questions about serious medical problems? Are they just afraid of the doctor? What?

  • Why go to church?

This is not a put-down of anyone's faith; let me say that to begin with. I never went to church regularly as a child. I've been several times off and on, but not every week like clockwork. As an adult, I feel no need to. God is there, whenever I am ready and willing to pray. He doesn't need me to go to a certain building on a certain day to worship. This is just my opinion. What's yours? Why do we "have" to go to church?

  • Can wallpaper be removed without removing paint on wall beneath?

My husband and I are considering putting up a wallpaper mural, but we're renting, so everything must be as we found it when we move out. Can regular wallpaper be removed without removing the paint on the wall underneath, or would we need to repaint the wall once we remove the paper? Thanks for your help!

  • Why people (especially kids) have no self-esteem these days?

It makes me so sad to see all of these "Am I pretty?" and "Do you think I"m hot" questions on here! Not to mention the kids wanting a "scene hairstyle" just so they can fit in somewhere! I'm curious to see where ya'll think this is coming from. I'm sure its a lot of sources, of course, but what do YOU think?

  • Why can no one spell on Y! Answers?

I understand a lot of the spelling errors come from kids. Even people who seem to be adults, and reasonably articulate say things like "Shud I do this" and "wat do you think"! It's beyond typing errors! Especially when there's this handy "Check Spelling" link right about your question! Thoughts? Opinions?

  • Vericose Veins?

Unfortunately, I have inherited my mother's and grandmother's vericose veins, and my skintone is very light. Consequentially, my legs look like a road map when I wear shorts or skirts in the summer. Any suggestions for reducing the look of the veins? I know I can wear pantyhose with skirts, but I'd rather not have to do so with shorts. Thanks!
