  • Am I losing my hair at 18?

I'm an eighteen year old male. Rather thick, dense hair. Long and wild.

My father is almost fifty and has a full set of lush hair. Everyone in my family, with the one exception of my grandfather (on my mother's side) who just so happens to have alopecia - he is completely bald. Started balding in his late 30's. Now I've heard that the mother's hair genes are more prominent over the fathers when producing the gene make-up of an offspring, which is why I am slightly concerned. It may not be true, but as I am aware it is a possible factor.

I've always, always been a hypochondriac most of my life since the age of very young. Lately it has been apparent to me that the 'crown' of my hair seems rather high, and I've talked to my mother and she explained that everyone in her family has a high 'crown' and not to worry. Lately my hair has been feeling relatively normal, apart from a few tiny 'patchy' areas where the hair is less dense. Nothing really obvious or concerning, just when I feel around my scalp around the top sides, etc, it feels a little odd. Now, I'm 18 and my grandfather started in his late 30's. I'm not sure if this is any sign of balding, or perhaps a result of bad nutrition, or stress perhaps. I simply don't know. But I am very fond of my hair and this has come to my attention as a hypochondriac as mentioned. I am aware that I may have a few nutritional deficiencies, I may be gluten free, low iron, vitamins, etc, nothing sure of. A little low on calcium since my

  • Guitar: Holly Golightly - "Your Love Is Mine" solo help?

Me and an amateur band are doing a few classic covers of various songs, including "Your Love Is Mine" by Holly Golightly. As the bands secondary (Acoustic) guitarist I'm due to perform the solo around the 2:07 mark of the song. I'm a beginner/intermediate level guitarist getting used to different scales and methods. Any pointers? What key is the song in? What scale(s) would be most useful to work with, and so forth. I'm mostly a rhythm guitarist so this is new territory under my feet.

    Here's the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftnafxqOfSc

  • Red painful swelling on shaft of penis?

Every now and then I notice one or two harmless pimple like bumps on the lower shaft of my penis. And they pop easily with a little puss; harmless, right? Well a few days ago, I was checking my junk in the shower casually, as you do, and I noticed another one of these 'harmless' pimples'. After my shower, I dried off and decided to pop it in order to get rid of it. I squeezed it and it didn't give in, no puss; nothing. So I pushed my fingers together on it with more force, and still nothing. I tried several more times, but still no puss. It was just irritated and slightly red. A day after, it started to get redder and a little painful. But I didn't take much notice to it. Then eventually it became uncomfortably painful. It was still red and now slightly swollen. I checked it a day later [today] and it was more painful, and I noticed that another part of my penis shaft was swelling, around to the side of the 'pimple'. The swelling it painful, and relatively red/pinkish, but only slightly. I've also been noticing slight pains around different regions of my penis, such as the side of the head and in my right testicle; just uneasiness, Any ideas of what this might be? It would be very appreciated. Have I injured a shaft, or something? Thanks. PS. I wouldn't consider an STI/D since I am after all a virgin. And the pimple appeared to originally be located on/very near a blood vessel.

  • Lump/Growth on back of head?

Over the past year I've noticed a lump/growth form on the back of my skull (the top back of the parietal part of the head). Now, I know everyone has a little lump further down, but this one is different, and much larger. It could just be bone growth, as my head has been flattish at the back, but not significantly. Anyway, so the lump is about an inch radius, not very elevated, but noticeable. When I press it, it is hard and feels attached to the bone of my skull. Is this something to be worried about? I'm thinking about seeing a doctor. I am seventeen years old, male. Thank you! Namaste.

  • The film "Conjuring" was just to convert people into Christianity?

I just went to "Conjuring" for some entertainment, and I came to realise that the entire film was for the purpose of converting people to Christian/Catholicism by means of terror and threat. It was very obvious throughout the entire film. Did anyone else notice this?

  • What does this Poem mean?

How do you perceive this Poem?

    ---------------

I want transient transcendentalism like the first human to ever see the coast line

to make a bee-line for the heard of the indies, or somewhere

and breathe smoke over craggy mountain tips

and empty yourself into the gut of the virgin landscape

trembling like newborns adorned in ornamental native jewelry thrust into unbeing

rebirthed and spat out, as wet as primeval vegetation painted neon hues with acid rain

we can lose our fingernails and roll blood across our wicked tongues

singing songs sung in the words we never knew or would care to remember

shrouded in esoteria, shrug up on ropes descending from the world tree

half drunk from the poison of snakes.

  • Rubik's 4x4x4: Last step - Edges?

I'm stuck on the last step of solving the 4x4x4 Rubik's Cube, in a situation where only two of the middle (edge sets) are out of place, instead of the usual three. (I am treating the cube like a 3x3x3 now). Take a look at the images of what I mean:

  • Am I showing signs of balding at age 17?

Okay, before you view the image, keep this in mind:

    1. My family known to have high hair on the sides.

    2. My Grandfather has Alopecia.

Now, here is the image, it is imgur; safe: http://i.imgur.com/IZaZTQi.png

    Also keep this in mind:

    1. I have wet my hair and combed it back to show the hairline.

    2. Occasionally I've had a few stands of hair come out here and there.

What are your thoughts? Should I see a Doctor? Or stop worrying?

    Thank you!

  • What does "Yours" mean at the end of a letter?

For example, my initials are "A.K".

If I were to write the following at the end of a letter:

    "Yours, A.K."

    Or perhaps just "Yours, A.",

Would this be suitable for just acquaintances, or rather close friends? What does it actually mean by "Yours", is it possessive to the receiver?
