  • White Mulberry tree help...?

We have a very large White Mulberry tree in our yard (probably 50 ft. tall) that was here when we bought the house several years ago. While we are lucky that it only produces white fruit rather than the dark purple variety, it still creates a huge mess in our yard. We have contacted a few people about spraying the tree to reduce or eliminate the fruit production but no one will do it. I guess it must be illegal in Illinois or something since we can not even pay someone to have this done. Has anyone ever tried to catch the fruit in nets or something to eliminate some of the mess? Our backyard has almost become unusable in the summer which is a bigger deal now that we have kids. Between the mess of the slippery berries, there are also the hundreds of flies that are attracted to this mess as well as the raccoons that come to feast at night. I really do not want to cut the tree down for many reasons. a). We like trees b). It is a very large tree that keeps our house cooler in the summer because of the shade, c). It would cost thousands of dollars to have it removed. We have already paid about $700 a few years ago just to have a few of the large branches cut down to clean it up a bit. Last summer we noticed that the tree must have compensated from loosing the branches by producing even more fruit. We sweep our patio every day and have tried raking them from the lawn, but it is never enough. Anyone have any ideas?

  • UTI post-pregnancy?

I just had my second baby 3 weeks ago and a week after I was home from the hospital I got a UTI. I called the dr. and got an antibiotic and had a reaction to it 8 days later (sulfa rash). I called the dr. again and he told me to stop taking it and drink water and cranberry juice. Well 2 weeks later I feel like I have another one coming on. It is a bit of a pain in the butt getting hold of my OB and was wondering if drinking the cranberry juice and taking vitamin C actually works to cure the infection or if it just masks the symptoms? I also want to know why giving birth can cause UTI's? (I have not had a problem with infections for 15 years until now) I did not want to bring this up with the dr. again till my 6 week appontment. Can I actually cure this myself or do I have to bite the bullet and call the office again and take a chance with another antibiotic?

  • Sulfa Rash?

I was given sulfa for a UTI and developed a rash 8 days after taking the antibiotic. I called the dr. and he told me to stop taking it and to take Benadryl. I was just wondering if anyone can give me an estimate as to how long it will take this rash to go away. It seems like it is getting worse instead of better at the moment. I stopped taking the antibiotic on Sunday morning when the rash first started and have a dinner party to go to this coming Sunday, do you think it will be gone by then?
