1 AnswerProgramming & Design9 years agowhat should I use to banish mold.?
I have a basement floor made of dirt.(sandstone foundation). Occasionally the dirt becomes moist, bringing on mold. I know there is a more permanent solution of keeping the basement dry all together, but that's not in the current budget. For now I just want to get a 1-2" layer of limestone down to promote drying and to not track dirt(wood stove activity)....What would be a good mold deterrent? Rock salt, in with the stone....? Some other additive?..
1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry10 years agoMy Yamaha virago 84',700cc, the cluth won't disengage the gears.?
I took the side cover off to work on the starter gears, that went well, but now the clutch won't allow the bike to free well unless I Foot shift it into neutral. I have gone through (several times) the adjustment process. Just touch the push-rod, back up 1/4 turn then tighten. Then left 1/4" travel at the handlebar lever. It feels like it is operating perfectly except the wheel won't turn free. The balls in the clutch push mechanism are also in their proper positions, detents. It has fresh oil in case also. Help. These gas prices are creepin up!

The stove will be in the basement with the stack going strait up through the house.I want to use single and triple wall pipe.In each level of the house,I want to use triple where it comes in contact with floors, ceilings etc. but also go back to single wall pipe so I can recover as much heat as possible from the chimney.Of course there will be proper guards/heat boxes around the single wall sections. Can anyone give any tips or helpful advise on this technique?

3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agocan well water be used for geothermal heating?
It seems like using an open loop system using the already existing well and water in it would be a good cost effective use of the large mass of water 60 ft. below the surface. Couldn't you constantly circulate it to exchanger for the heat pump? this would be a separate pump from the water supply for the home.please give any and all suggestions.I really want geothermal heat but cant afford the typical installation

I am attempting to restore a 20 ga. J Stevens shotgun, the rust isn't a problem but I would like to remove all the internal action for further cleaning. It looks like they used pressed in pins. Are these just simply knocked out with a punch? I don't want to put any tooling marks on the pins, use brass punch? The gun is completely broke down otherwise.
