  • multi room cd play?

we are building a home with multiple listening areas. I would like to be able to listen to the same music in multiple rooms from a CD source. Can I run output from two different dources on a CD palyer (variable and fixed outputs for instance? an optical output?) to receivers in different rooms without degrading the signal? I would then be able to control the output fro that one CD player from different AMP sources in different rooms. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is there a better way?

  • How come Carolina has sewn up a playoff spot?

If Carolina loses next week and both Arizona and New Orleans win, doesn't new Orleans win the division and Arizona win the wild card spot because it has the head to head win over Carolina? if not how does Arizona get into the playoffs if it wins?

  • is audi turbo lag responsive to mapping?

I have an Audi tt with the 2.0 211HP turbo engine. The turbo lag seems excessive compared to my previous A4 with the same engine but with a manual rather than DSG transmission.

Is this unusual? Did the manual transmission mask the turbo lag? could computer mapping have something to do with this? Any suggestions?

  • grammar and sentence structure?

Why is it that so many people who ask questions on this site exhibit such an appalling lack of knowledge of grammar and sentence structure?

  • Should the US blow up the Pueblo?

The Pueblo is a museum in North Korea's harbor, maintained as a testament to their power and ability to "defeat" the US. the Pueblo is still maintained on the US navy roles. I know odf no incident since the war of 1812 in which a US ship was captured with impunity. Why don't we just make it disappear? we have a precedent (the USS Philadelphia).

  • what are US approval ratings of our government through the years?

What were the % ratings of US public approval of congress through the years? 60's? 70's?

currently they are lowest ever recorded (under 20%) and lower than any other US measured group (lower than used car salesmen).

I seem to remember that at one time the US government was very highly trusted by our people (over 70%)

  • How do you run sound and theater through the same speakers independently?

I have an older processor (parasound 2500). Is there a way to run output from the processor to the speakers and also a way to run stereo to the same speakers through a preamp without running it through the processor?

  • what is the best way to clean anodized aluminum pots?

I have Caphalon anodized aluminum pots that have blackened in spots. This is unsightly and I'm also concerned it will affect the ability of the pots to heat evenly. I have tried soaking, cleaning with barkeeper and various strong cleaners. I need recommendations on removing this unsightly blackening.

  • Can we recover the basic function of our government?

Are our politicans in both parties so sold out to getting reelected, they no longer represent our interests, but instead, represent whoever is paying the re-election tab? Is that why their approval ratings are so low?

Could we solve this by publicly financing all elections, establishing term limits and eliminating all access to politicains by lobbyists? (After all, they are mostly lawyers so where does there expertise come from in deciding something like stem cell research or environmental questions?) Would we be better served by professionally appointed panels who interacted with interested and knowledgeable parties and then made recommendations to congress upon which to vote?

  • What was the total amount contracted with Halliburton for Iraqi reconstruction and how much were they paid?

What % of what we contracted for did we get for what % of the money? A basic construction question.

What would happen in this country if we were without basic infrastructure, our children were being shot in the streets, normal life was disrupted, and most people were unemployed?

I think we won the military war when we entered Baghdad and overthrew Saddam. Remember the Iraquis celebrating in the streets?

Are our people fighting and dying over there at least partially because we did not fulfill our promise to reconstruct the country? How much were we defrauded by the reconstruction effort? Aren't the pres. and vice pres culpable? (They are the senior executives admistrating the budget and the buck stops where?). Should we sue to get our money back? Then use it for its originally intended purpose?

  • how much has the war with Iraq cost to date off-budget?

We know the war is costing a fortune. What is the cost, how much is off-budget and what do the president and the current candidates say about how we are to pay for all of this?
