  • What do I need for a new Free To Air Satellite setup?

I want to buy a FTA system for my house. I have 4 TV's in the house. Let's assume that only 2 TVs are on at any time and are watching different channels. However, I want all the TVs to be able to tune in to channels. What's the minimal setup that I need?

  • Why do people need prove/disprove assumptions people make about them?

Why do we feel inclined to prove or disprove assumptions or stereotypes that people make about us? What makes it so hard for us to just ignore stereotypes?

  • What is the most durable machine?

Which technology lasts the longest without maintenance? Preferably mechanical but anything that comes to mind is good. An example would be: magnetic turbine has little wear and can run for about 10 years straight without maintenance.

  • How is probability calculated per unit time?

I have a probability U that some event will occur per second.

So if I want to find out the probability that the event will occur per milisecond, I did U/1000. To me, that sounds logical, but is it correct?

  • What are midterm congressional election?

I'm not familiar with US politics nor do I like politics in general, but US politics decide the world's fate (unfortunately). I was curious to know what midterm congressional elections are and what their results mean.

  • What to do about my cat's eye "infection" that came back?

I took my cat to the vet about 11 days ago and the vet prescribed him Convax (an antibiotic) for his swollen eye-lid that he took for 10 days (1 pill in the morning, and 1 at night). After two days on the antibiotics, his eye-lid was back to normal, but was a bit pink for the rest of the 10 days. After his medication was up, and I didn't miss a single pill and I was always on time administering his medication, the swelling is coming back. The eye is starting to discharge again like it was before I took him to the vet. Now, I'm required to take him to the vet again, either because the vet misdiagnosed the problem or prescribed too short of a period of antibiotics. Is that really fair to me, or to my cat? I read somewhere on the internet that a viral infection can cause this swelling and it can be misdiagnosed for a bacterial infection. Was this the case for me? What do I do about the vet?

  • What car should I be looking at?

I like full sized vehicles, and I prefer american cars. Main reason for that is that they're more powerful, even though they consume a bit more gas. For obvious reasons, I hate civics, corollas, cavaliers, sunfires, sentras, etc. I want to buy a car that's no more than 8 years old (so 1998+) and I have upto 7G's to spare. I was looking at intrepids, impalas, or anything along that size. I have yet to see a nissan in that price range. What do you think?

  • My cat has a swollen eye, what should I do?

He's an outdoor cat and he got into a fight with something that gave him a small cut to his upper eye-lid. His upper eye-lid is swollen. I'm presuming it's an infection but I don't have the money to take him, and he won't even get into a car or kitty carrier without killing someone. Is there anything I can do immediately to help him?

  • Is it fair that women choose to keep the baby but the partner is required to pay child support regardless?

This is hypothetical and doesn't apply to me or anyone I know.

Given that a couple have sex and the woman gets pregnant accidentally, they have a choice of having an abortion. Now, the man doesn't want a baby for whatever reasons it may be. However, the woman does not want an abortion. Given that she has the baby, the man will be required to pay child support. How is that fair considering he cannot partake in the choice of aborting the pregnancy? I realize it is her body and it's her choice, but she should raise the child without the support payments if she wants to keep it. However, this would only work if the man is against the pregnancy upto 1 month into pregnancy, but should pay child support if he changes his mind too late in the pregnancy.

This way, it is fair to men who get trapped into child support or parent hood by deceptive women, and innocent/victimized women still get child support if their partner leaves them with a child.

  • Do I live in an insane neighbourhod, or is it just me?

I live on a street that's about 150 meters long, and comes to a dead end. There's tons of kids on this street, and they are ALWAYS outside. The younger ones (3-12 years old) roam the streets without parental supervision, even the 3 & 4 year olds. They stand in the middle of the street even if cars are coming and don't move, you actually have to drive around them or sound the horn (and the neighbours give you a dirty look if you honk). The older ones, 16-20 smoke up and drink all the time, and they smash beer bottles on the street infront of their own house. People in the neighbourhood complained that I drive too fast down this stretch, so the city had 2 speed bumps layed down today. How stupid and a waste of money that is. What do you think? Or am I the obnoxious one because I happen to come down the street once a day and expect to be able to get home without having to hit a kid?

As americans, is it too much to fathom that the government is capable of fabricating lies to support its future plans for war? You may be obvlivious to the fact, but what do you think after reading the following articles?

  • Has anyone tried anti-aromatization supplements or Hydroxycut?

If you have tried either, did you see any decent results, any side-effects, or were they a waste of time? What else would you recommend other than HydroxyCut and Anti-aromatization supplements (I already take ON's 100% Whey).

  • Why do women read and believe what cosmopolitan magazine publishes?

Most of the time, it's blantly wrong and doesn't express what guys are truely like, or what they prefer for that matter. How can you write about what guys like if you're an old woman out of touch with today's society? In addition, it gives bad advice on how to be sluty and immature. It's demeaning to women as a whole, and a shame that it has so many young readers.
