I'm a single mom with a beautiful little girl.

  • How do I begin a running routine?

I am about 10wks pregnant, and am hoping to run off the baby weight.

I have never run before in my life (because i hate doing anything that causes jiggling)

Don't get me wrong though, i love exercise, just less jiggly forms.. like elipticals, and stair masters, and weights and squats etc.

I am now considering running, as I know when the baby is born, i won't have the option of going to the gym, and cannot forsee myself doing a work out video at home.

I am anticipating that running will be a cheap, way to exercise without the need of a sitter, and also that going out for a run in the fresh air will help with any babyblues symptoms i may get.

My question however, is how do i get started. Is this something i should try to get into now... or after baby? Do i need to wait very long after the birth before i can do that kind of activity? and when i do begin to run, how long do you start off? etc....

any or all info would be a wonderful start.

    Thanks

  • how well would wall paper work in a mudroom?

I have two young kids, and a husband who is the outdoorsy type. So 'm wondering would a seagrass pattern wall paper work well to hide the mud and light suffs that walls endure ina mudroom? or woudl I be better off getting a scuff proof/ high gloss paint? I know types of wall paper tear easily, but others take an extreme amount of work to get off the wall (my mothers bedroom had the 2type) lol which is why im considering wallpaper in this beat up room. any input helps thanks :)

  • What are possible signs of conception?

So i feel like a bit of a personal hypocrite. I usually shake my head at people asking "am i pregnant questions on here" and I already have a 6yr old, BUT i'm gonna ask anyway.

So i'm a week late starting my pills. I just hadn't had time to get to the pharmacy to refill my prescription, with work, and kids, and an hour commute home, my days are pretty packed. But my b/f and I were intimate friday night, and before I go out and grab the plan B, I just want to reassure myself. (I know time is running out for its effectivness)

Over the years I've heard rumours, that when the egg implants itself in the uterus lining, there may be some light blood discharge. Is that true? I'm generally pretty depandable with my pills, so i'm not sure if that was the egg settling, or if it was just my body responding to the lack of pills.

At this time in my life another baby would be wonderful, ONLY problem being that it would be born so close to so many other birthdays, which are expensive enough to provide for. A baby born in the spring would be so much easier to provide for in the way of birthdays in our family.

So if anyone has any knowledge about the signs of implantation, i'd love to hear it, as i'd really hate to use the plan B if there are definate signs the egg and sperm are already implanted. (i'd hate to cause any harm to a future baby. (I'm not against abortion, but in a situation its not called for, why chance birth defects?)

    Thanks for any help :)

  • With Christmas comign and money tight I"m not sure what to do for my BF.?

As I said, Money is tight.. we bought a house a year and ahalf ago and ahve sicne been doing renovations... small things, but over time they certainly add up. And last christmas, I tried to put a budget on what we coudl spend on each other.. and well... that didn't sit with him. He always spends WAY too mcuh on me. We each ahve a child, My daughter full time, and his son 50%. and I would liek to put all our christmas funds towards them and our closest family. But Like last year, he just ignored the limit, and come christmas day I felt TERRIBLE because I didnt' give him so much, and have since spent much of the year trying to make i up to him (not that he complained.. just personally i felt teh guilt). I would like to avoid the same situation this year, and just keep each other's gifts to a minimum. How do I go about convincing him that we should? (He's certainly NOT a keener in the money department... thats my area.. so he never sees all the bills i have to shell out each month, he sees the odd thing like how much the sink cost, or the winter wood and thats all.)

  • I have clear bubbles in my mouth?

These are transparent little bubbles, which have very tough skin on them which makes it hard to break them. (which i coudln't possibly chew on) but the thing with these bubbles are, that once it is broken its gone for a few days or weeks, adn then returns int eh same place... ANY idea what they are. I don't think theyr'e are anything serious or i'd be at my doctor... so just looking fr some advise to work with befor ei decide to see the doc or not. Thanks fro any help.

  • Whats wrong with my brother's dog?

Recently my brother has moved home and with him came his dog. It is pretty well behaved except for a few little thigns that could use some polishing.... like jumping and whining. OK.. he's only 2 yrs old.. so i can understand the jumping.. BUT the whining.. he whines ALL the time... wehn you leave him alone.. or when my brother leaves, and even when your petting him.... the only time he dones't whine is when your all out playing wiht him.. liek rough housing, or when he's runnign around outside WITH you... he can't go out on his own or he takes the whining toanother level and starts to howl.... Can dogs have depression.. or does he have some sort of detachment issues.... or what? cause hes a lovly dog.. if only he'd cut the whining.... any idea would be appreciated.. thnx

  • why is my cold water warm?

Our water comes from a well not a municipal water system like in the city, and we ahve never had a problem with it.. but Now.. our cold water is coming out room temperature. I know the cold water line does not cross with the hot water line, other then when they are first separated, so i don't understand why this would be. It doesn't matter how long you let the water run for, it still comes out warm, so its not that temperature from sitting in the pipes i wouldn't think, But just to throw in a mix, it will get cold about once a day, and not at the same time of day. So with all things considered i am clueless.

Is there some element that i'm missing.. or is there maybe something in our soil that may be warming the water? (i know Co2 is released from the ground at higher levels in some places than tohers.. could this be doign it?)

  • '94 Saturn, SL 2...... temperature guage.?

A little while ago i ahd a mechanic put in a new water pump... thats all fine and dandy now.. BUT... now my fan is acting up... if i keep it on a direct connection. ti won't turn off.. and if i have it hooked up regularly... then ti doens't turn on when i need it to.... so it has been suggested to me that perhaps the mechanic forgot to replug my temperature guage... (the thing that tells the fan the car is too hot. and to turn on) but my problem is.. is the mechanic who put inthe pump... is a REAL pervert. andi have absolutely no intentions of ever going near him again.... so its otu fo the question that i get him to fix it for me... ad my usual mechanic doesn't have the right tool to hook the temperature guage back up... ro to test it or som'n.. i forget what he said..... so i want to do it myself. .or get my brother to..... but i dont' even knwo wehre it is. ic na't seem to find it in my car...so if anyone coudl descrbe to me what it looks liek or where it is.. i'm willign to do it.

  • Birth Control options?

I have tried the pills and i find when i forget to take them i dead fro a week with cramps (which i normally dont' get at all).. i tried the Depo Provera and LOVE it. but my doctor wants me off it, because it is causing early osteoporosis (whatever that word is) "thinning of the bones".. and now i have recently tried the Evra Patch and HATE it.. i ripped the first patch off before the week was up and refuse to put on another.....

Now i am left with the Nuva ring, and the IUD.

I am scared to try the Nuva ring and don't really want to try it.. but on the other hand with the IUD my doctors have mixed concerns with it... my gynecologist thinks an IUD woudl eb a bad decision.. and i ahve jsut finished two years of tests for abnormal cells which we think is fine. theres nothing there..... and i'm nto in a married relationship. so she is concerned aobtu the risk of getting an infection while i have the IUD in place... wehreas my family doctor think the IUD is my best option.

  • weight.. what do you think?

I'm jsut curious. i have days wehn i feel comfortable wiht my body.. the size it is and everything and then i have days that i'm not... and i KNOW the answers to this question won't effect that (maybe onlyf or the moment that i read them lol ) but heres the scoop... i weigh 160lbs give or take a pound or two depending on the day and how much water i drank or dind't drink.... and i'm only 5'4" with a 15-13 pant size... and a 13 dress size.... i had a baby two years ago.. and although i'm at the same weight i was.. i'm a size to two sizes bigger than i was... and i'm having a hard time losing the weight, becuase i don't have much time to get to the gym or get out for a walk... so i just want to know if any of you have the same sort of numbers or know anyone that does. and if you think that is a large size for a 20yr old or not? be honest...

  • Bumps on my legs?

I have little tiny bumps all over my legs... mostly around the top outer part of my thighs, and i think it is because i shave my legs, but i don't want to wax, as i don't wnat to have to let my leg hairs grow, i'd rather keep them smooth all the time... so is there anyway i can solve this without waxing/sugaring my legs?

  • I am curious about the EVRA patch and NUVA RING...?

I am currently on Depo provera for my birth control, and my doctor told me the last time i was in that new studies have shown that it leads to early development of osteoperosis (i think thats spelled wrong) So he wants me to try another form of birth control. i WOULD take the pill, but i find i forget it alot, i tried it before the needle, and ended up ahve lots of cramping and spotting between periods, the doctor suggested an IUD, but my GYN thinks that would not be suitable as i'm not in a married relationship and the possability of getting some kind of infection or STD is too high to be using an IUD. so she suggested the Nuva ring and the Evra patch, but i know very little about them, and NO ONE else that uses them. i ahve been to their websites and i find they are biast to their own product, so i would like to hear some feedback from other women who have used these products. Let me know if they worked well for you, and weather you tend to forget them or, any other concerns THNX

  • Potty training question?

My daughter and i are trying to get her ready to use the potty, and she loves to use the potty, but it seems liek she will do fantastically one day and horribly the next. when we are at home i let her run around ether barebum or with a thick pair of undies (depending upon the clean supply of undies) and it seems that she jsut doesnt' want to tell me that she wants to go to the potty some days. When she does do this however i get really excited wiht her and we both clap our hands and say "yey" and its jsut a really fun time. she seems to really enjoy it, so now i'm at a stand still how to keep her progressing, instead of making messes on our floors all day. any ideas?
