Why is it that every time when my daughter acts up and i either tell her no, or stop, or put her in time out or swat her butt she cries for her dad even tho her dad puts her in time out spanks her more than i do? She just started doing this and just when she is really naughty I tell her im going to call her dad and she says good and stops acting naughty ? Is it because she is around me all the time and not her dad? Also when her dad is disciplining her she doesn't cry for me??

My husband and I have a daughter who is 4 years old and is very sweet most the time but has her moments just like any other 4 year old does. My husband and I use time-out, taking things away and spanking to discipline her. We always use spanking last and after we have tried other things.

When I have to use spanking on her i use my open hand on her clothed butt and i give her one swat and i either put her back in time out or in her bed to show her that im not kidding. My husband on the other hand uses open hand on the clothed butt and gives her 3 swats. He says that the 3 swats is to show that he is serious, to in force that he is serious and for her to remember.
