What does your college radio station do when school is out?
I'm curious about the summer and christmas/spring break.
1 AnswerRadio1 decade ago20" Aluminum iMac is making quick tone upon start up?
It froze during a Safari task and would not respond to force quit - wouldn't give option through Safari icon and Apple logo Force Quit wouldn't do the trick. My co-worker tried hard reset and may have done some funky button holding. When it did finally restart it is now making a high-pitched tone and won't show accounts but rather a single log in screen. When we log in it makes no software available - however clickable - and the software shown is only the native programs.
Is it stuck in some firmware mode or something? How do we unstick it?
1 AnswerDesktops1 decade agoOk, I'm thinking of a novel...?
It came out in 2004(?). It was written by the boyfriend of 30-40 ish actress and Mike Myers said it was hilarious - I think he even wrote a jacket blurb.
The main character is a circus worker/carnie and the story opens with him coming to near the ocean.
I read about it and filed it away for later and my brain just decided it is later.

Obviously, this only applies to those of you who have never taken civic action.
4 AnswersCivic Participation1 decade agoDo you have a soul? Ever have the sense of yours?
I heard a neurosurgeon say he could never believe in the soul after his thorough involvement with the human brain and how he has "been able to manipulate it," thus creating events in the patient during operations. He takes over the patient like a ventriliquist. Where is the soul?
His contention is that "we are our brains"; stimulus in surgery and the change in personality and identity from injury is proof for him that there is no soul. What is the soul if our personality does not reflect it? It follows that the soul and consciousness must exist apart. To extrapolate, if the soul is pure energy, awareness and perception is a by product of the brain and there is no way we can comprehend an afterlife---so there may as well not be one.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe "New Yorker"?
Does any one else not from/or living in New York love it as much as I but wish they would be a little more objective in their editorial content?
Also have the cartoons been less funny lately?
I think 9/11 had a very deep impact on this publication--beyond the obvious.

Specifically, can you listen to it in the shower, when you are going to sleep, as you make a long lonely drive, while you sit and do nothing but listen?
