  • why can't I bench more?

50 yr old male, 225 lbs. weight train regularly. do bench flyes with 40s, dumbbell presses with 75s.

On a triceps extension on the cable machine I can lift the stack (200)

Can not get my bench over 180. when I train on a Smith machine- I feel it in my arms and the shoulder joint , but don't seem to be engaging my chest. Is that possible?

    goal is to bench 220.

  • water doesnt flow through the toilet shut off valve?

I replaced the internals in the toilet tank. When I shut the water valve off I got a lot of water leakage around the stem. I took off the valve nut and wound some teflon tape around the stem and replaced the nut and handle.

When I opened up the valve, still had a small leak at the stem, but very little water flowing through the tank. I disconnected the feeder line to the tank and had no flow. I removed the connector line and blew through it - it was clear.

So tomorrow I will need to replace the valve- but I can't figure out why the valve isn't working?

I loosen the stem nut - but that did nothing. Any thoughts?

  • How do I shorten sleeves on a polo shirt?

not a dress shirt - a Polo shirt. I am 5'8" and 220 with a 46 in chest. I have to buy XL for room in the chest and neck. Waist is an issue but that I can fix. Sleeves tend to come to the elbow crease.

I want to raise them one to two inches- and yes I am a guy and am just starting to figure out this sewing machine - so, if you have a suggestion , be blunt and specific. I can take it!
