  • How to get rid of fishy smelling vine that has taken over our yard!?!?

The vine has long slender heart-shaped leaves. When you break it, it oozes out this milky stuff that smells absolutely awful (like rancid fish) and is very sticky (you can wash your hands a dozen times and the smell persists!)

It is taking over a bougainvillea and has runners coming out into our grass. It has just started to flower, tiny little star-shaped flowers that have five thick petals and a bit of yellow stuff on the inside.

Does anyone know what this is or how to get rid of it? Every time we've cut it away it grows back, it's really becoming a nuisance and every time we walk through our yard we nearly trip on the runners. The lawnmower just cuts it up and leaves stinky sticky bits everywhere. Help!!

  • Can a public school teacher be fired for their spouse's activities?

Say their spouse belongs to the KKK or is a Nazi, etc. Can a teacher be fired for that?

Also, if a teacher belongs to certain political parties, etc, can they be fired for organizations they belong to (such as the communist party or alcoholics anonymous)

I need good evidence such as constitutional amendments, legal cases, even news articles...

I DO NOT want info on private schools, catholic schools, etc... ONLY PUBLIC EDUCATION.

  • Is there a name for this way of cutting/slicing?

When we make zucchini, squash, eggplant, or the like, I like to slice it into disks, then slice each disk in half to form half moons... If I were writing this down in a recipe, is there a name for this kind of slice? Its not a dice, or rough chop, its not even sliced on the bias... I have no idea what its called...

Its easy enough to explain within the recipe instructions, but I was curious if there was a name for it to save a step.

  • I keep hearing a child crying, an adult screaming, and lots of banging noises from downstairs neighbor?

This past week it has been a lot noisier than usual from the neighbor who is below me (I live in an apartment). The TV has been on loud and I've heard lots of banging noises. For the past few days I have heard a child crying constantly... then I hear an adult woman screaming. I have already called the leasing office and they said they would take care of it. At first I thought the child was locked in alone or something but then i began hearing an adult voice yelling.

When I have seen the child outside playing, she is pretty little and pretty rambunctious... she may be a handful, but the noises really bother and scare me.

After I called the office I was vacuuming and they started banging on the ceiling to tell me to stop... I am wondering if they suspect it was me who called the office. What do I do, do I call the office again? Should I call the police? How do I deal with their wrath?

  • Where can I find pre-made tiara forms for veils/bridal accessories?

I recently bought a book about making veils that talks about using buckram & wire forms as the base for tiaras, headbands, and barrettes for holding a veil in place.

Is there anywhere I can buy a pre-made form, say online or in a craft-store?

  • Bridesmade Dilemma?

I have two very close friends... One, who lives in another state, I've known since I was about 9 and we've always been there for eachother, even when we haven't talked in months, we'll always call and catch eachother up on things and give eachother advice in times of need.

The other one I have already chosen as my Maid of Honor... my sister is the other bridesmaid... its a pretty small wedding, so I only want two.

The dilemma is that the friend from the other state is quite poor and this wedding is on a major budget... I don't think she'd be able to buy a dress or even buy her way to the wedding location... and I don't want to expect her to have to...

How do I let her know all this? I'd love her to be a Maid, but I couldn't imagine not having my sis up there with me, and the other best friend actually lives here so doesn't it make sense that she is one of the Maids as well...?

How do I tell the other friend she's not going to be up there with me... if she ever COULD make it down here?

  • I'm an Elementary Education major still in school, and I need a JOB!!!?

I find looking for jobs increasingly frustrating as I near my graduation because all I want is to be a teacher and any other job seems pointless... but hey, I need money. I've always been a hard worker especially when I find something that I love to do, but I've tried jobs that are "related" to the field I will major in such as daycares and I really don't do well with the younger kids, I'm so tired of wiping poopy diapers and not having anything to work towards in my job-life.

I'm hoping to work with grades 4-8. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do what I want to do while I'm still a student. Am I doomed to a minimum wage, no motivation job until I graduate? How do I convince my inner-workaholic that a meaningless job is gonna have to get me through till I graduate?

How do I go about finding a job in a school working with kids the ages I want to work with? Are there jobs like that?

  • Worms from my turtle food pellets?

My carnivorous turtle lives in an all-water tank with gravel and a turtle cave for him to sit on. I feed him turtle-food pellets and also occasionally a small piece of hotdog. I was watching him a few weeks ago and noticed tiny clear worms (less than 3mm long) that swam up to the surface of the water in a whirligig motion and were latched EVERYWHERE there was algae (the turtles back, the side of the tank).

I assumed it was the hotdogs and immeadiatly cleaned the turtles tank, scrubed him down and replaced the materials inside.

I also stopped feeding him hotdogs.

However the other day I noticed the worms still in there, and eventually found that they were coming out of the food he hadn't eaten yet (after it became soggy).

    Now, my questions are...

What are the little worms... are they harmful to my pet?

Did they come from his food-pellets or were there just some leftover in there that feed also on his food once it gets soggy?

How can I get rid of them?

thanks for any advice you have

  • Inexpensive Date Ideas?

I am horribly uncreative when it comes to date ideas, especially when it comes to CHEAP date ideas. The only thing I can ever come up with is dinner and a movie... or a rental. Does anyone have some better and more creative ideas for fun and inexpensive dates?

  • My cat has little black dots on her nipples?

I recently took in a stray that was hanging around my house... she was obviously previously a house-cat as she tried to come inside everytime I opened the door, uses a litter box, and is quite friendly and cuddly for a "stray." I thought she was pregnant because her nipples were quite swollen but they disappeared over the few weeks before I actually took her inside. Once I brought her in I bathed her, and I noticed some little black dots around her nipples... her nipples are quite protruded, but she is not producing milk/nor are her milk glands swollen. The nipples look quite dry and the black dots are on every nipple, but more so on the lower ones towards her hind legs.

I have another cat who is up-to-date with her shots and I just found the same black dots on her nipples, so now I'm quite worried. Is this just "feline acne" that I have read about, or the way cats' nipples are, or something else? What can I do to treat it?
