  • What was my burmese loach doing?

I have 3 burmese/golden zebra loach and 3 days ago there was only 2... I looked everywhere for the other one (in the filter, outside the tank)... I know the bury themselves sometimes, and I think this one buried himself... But he was gone for 3 whole days. He Didn't even come out for food.

Well he's back and seem a little larger and has a golden hue to him. They're usually beige with strips of course... I can't find any literature in this behavior. Why bury themselves for 3 days and come back more healthy than before?

this is a holy sh!t moment. Nobdy ever documented the female helping out as well.

  • Pleco behavior?

this is the longest I've kept a common pleco. I think he's 3 years old and he's growing fast. I think he's 5 inches now and he's hungry. I only feed him 1 algae tablet a day and whatever he can get from left overs from the other fishes ( i don't want him to grow too fast). I recently bought new plants and he's nibbling at it. I removed him to a 10 gallon tank and I might put him back in the big tank when the plants are extablished.

Since in the he's in the smaller tank, he's insanely active (swimming around and digging in the gravel). It seems like he's happier here. I know for sure it has less nitrates... I'm working on the bigger tank.

so I have 2 questions.. How to keep a pleco in a planted tank?

and What's this digging in the gravel?

(he's digging with is tail by moving it really fast).. seems almost like he's making a nest.

it sounds like a bunch of clicks. At first i though he was tapping the bowl's wall but I just saw him do it. He's making like he's chewing something. This is the first time i've seen/heard of this. Is this common?
