  • What if God said mass rape of children was okay?

Since Christians talk about how morality is only for them because God sets the rules, what if God said rape and murder was okay? He wouldn't, right? Why not? Because of reason, right? Why not eliminate the middleman? Gotcha.

I bet some people will know where I read this.

  • So why doesn't Kent Hovind have a Nobel Prize or two?

I mean, he's contributed so much to science right? /sarcasm

Tell me creationists, why do most creation "scientists" have degrees in stuff like Dentistry?

  • Are there any valid, secular reasons gay marriage should be banned?

Don't equate it with pedophilia. It's a fallacy, a slippery slope argument that's been debunked. You don't see countries with gay marriage legalized pushing to legalize pedophilia. Your personal disgust is also not a valid reason. I may be disgusted by Jews. Am I going to discriminate against them and make bigoted laws? No.

    I'm a straight white male.

  • What's so great about school vouchers?

Most of the proposals have been in Republican states. The vouchers encourage parents to not send their kids to failing state schools, the Republicans claim. Well it's their state, why not fix the goddamn schools? All the vouchers do is allow more kids to go to crackpot private schools where they teach the Bible is infallible and evolution is a lie. The Louisiana Supreme Court agrees too.

  • So do Republicans /want/ a nation of obese rednecks?

Let's also remember Ronald Reagan tried to get ketchup considered a vegetable to he could circumvent school nutrition standards.

It would benefit Republicans though, seeing as their entire voter base is uneducated obese racist homophobic rednecks.

  • Do cons realize that Obamacare mostly takes effect in 2014?

And I sense the hatred is from a lack of understanding, especially the contraception part. If cons were really anti-abortion they would support the contraception part. You would see abortion rates go down drastically.

There's no use whining about it now. But then again, cons aren't known for being well informed. Some of them think Obamacare makes you get a chip in your skin.

  • So how do creationists explain the fact that every living thing has some human DNA?

Even dandelions have human DNA. The only good explanation for this is common ancestry and "macro"evolution.

  • Do Christians really follow everything the Bible says?

Example: in Leviticus, the homophobe section, God also bans eating seafood that doesn't have fins or scales (i.e. shellfish), touching a pig's carcass (no football), round haircuts, and wearing gold jewelry.

So think before you cite the Bible as justification for homophobia, bigotry, or ignorance.

  • You can be moral without a God?

I get sick of Christians harping that there is no morality without God. Well, there is no morality even with God. If you need the threat of hell to get you to do good things you are morally bankrupt. And since God forgives you as long as you are a Christian and believe in him, why bother doing good stuff?

  • Does anybody actually believe in a 6,000 year old earth and a worldwide flood?

Let's go over why this is impossible.

First off, light takes billions of years to get here from Andromeda, the closest galaxy to the Milky Way. This alone disproves a young earth.

Now, dogs were domesticated within 14-12,000 years ago. Archeologists have proof.

Back to the starlight problem. Most of the stars in the night sky are 7,000 or more light years away.

If our earth is 6,000 years old, why does radioactive decay indicate a billion-year-old earth?

And as for a worldwide flood, there isn't even enough water in the atmosphere or on the surface to cover Mt. Everest and the Himalayas while still covering the entire earth at around the same level. There is absolutely no evidence of a global flood 4,000-3,000 years ago. There is evidence however, of multiple extinction events from hundreds of millions of years ago up until 65 million years ago.

Assuming we take all of Genesis literally, why did God spend one day on 10^10000 planets and stars and galaxies and six on our insignificant backwater planet? A rational God wouldn't do that. And if humans were perfect before the Fall, how did we become imperfect? A perfect object cannot become imperfect. If it does then it was never perfect in the first place.

Now you see why Protestants and Baptists are the only denominations who still take this bullsh!t literally.

  • So, what do you guys think about Rick Perry and this campaign ad (Strong)?

    www.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=mhee&v=0PAJNntoRgA

If you're too lazy to watch it, Perry rants about how gays can serve openly in the military but kids can't pray in school. They actually can as long as the school doesn't sponsor or endorse it. He also talks about Obama's and liberals' war on religion.

Just another reason to vote Democrat.

  • Christians, when you get cancer, why not just pray and not go to the hospital?

You have faith, right? And remember, science is of the devil.

  • Do Christian nation historical revisionists know about the Treaty of Tripoli?

    US Senate, John Adams, 1797:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen [Muslims],—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan [Muslim] nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

  • What's Christians' problem with science?

They love railing against evolution and global warming, but when they need antibiotics they love science.

Now, don't tell me it's because science is atheistic. Science is agnostic because science deals with natural phenomena and natural explanations. God is supernatural. God also can't be falsified, so he neither exists or nonexists to scientists. (is that a word?).

I know not all Christians are anti-science (my family used to be Episcopalian, they went full retard and converted to Baptist), but the ones on Y!A seem to be.

  • Creationism is NOT SCIENCE?

It does not follow the scientific method. Its conclusions are not testable, unless you want to ask God to create another Earth so we can see. It deals with supernatural things, but science deals ONLY with natural things and explanations. It searches for evidence to back up a predetermined conclusion, not the other way around. It doesn't belong in a science class.

  • Why don't we get rid of pesky regulations like child labor laws? They are socialist!?

While we're at it, let's get rid of minimum wage, Labor Day, and the 40-hour work week. Greedy unions, demanding fair pay and safe working conditions. Can't they see they're costing their billionaire bosses money with their outrageous demands like health insurance?

Those teacher unions need to go too! Campaigning for smaller class sizes and better education systems, pfft. Education is for liberals.

Pollution regulations need to go too, scientists are stupid.

  • Do creationists know that evolution has nothing to do with the ORIGIN of life?

I get tired of hearing creationists say "I did not come from a soup in the ocean." That's not what evolution says. Evolution is supposed to explain the differences between species today.

Also, the tailbone, appendix, and tonsils are proof of evolution. Why would a perfect God include them if they aren't needed?

  • Do Young Earthers realize that it takes millions of years for light to reach us from stars?

This alone rules out a 6,000 year old Earth.

Also, the dog was domesticated 10,000 years ago. Did God let us domesticate dogs before the universe was created?

Let's just say carbon dating was somehow flawed. What about the more than 100 other ways to test for the age of rocks and fossils, including radiometric dating?

And if we take Genesis literally, God spent one day on the sextillions of galaxies and stars and planets, but he spent five on one tiny insignificant planet.

Let's not forget there are two contradictory stories of creation in Genesis, so how are we supposed to take it literally?

And you want to teach your nonsense in schools?
