25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the minimum ignorance requirement for fundamentalist Christians?
Mike Huckabee made a speech at a gathering of fundamentalist christians today. He made several biblical references. The BBC captured these and conducted an exit poll of the attendees. The ignorance about the bible was staggering!
He said, "... a small smooth stone can overcome a whole lot of armor..." the most intelligent pollster thought maybe he was referring to something about the war.
He said, "... a widow's mite can be very significant ..." Pollster ... isn't a mite a bug??
I don't know why I found this so shocking considering the percentage of Christians who don't know what the First Council of Nicea was or what it has to do with the Bible.

1. The creator of the universe, decided to impregnate a virgin human living on an insignificant blue speck of his creation. The offspring was then able to turn water into wine, raise the dead, feed thousands of people from one basket, rise from the dead himself and ascend into heaven (Wherever that is). To some unknown end that also happens to benefit mankind, which is desirable to this omnipotent being for some unknown reason.
OR
2. A number of 300+ year old folk tales were gathered together by the Council of Nicaea, under the direction of a Roman Emporer named Constantine and woven into a fantastic tale that established an authoritative religous organization that he could control. This would make the story similar to the modern tales of Superman, Lord of the Rings, Santa Claus, Tinkerbell, the Tooth Fairy and the ancient tales of Hercules. Since these have actually happened, it must be conceded it is possible such a thing could occur.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do we think inheritance is a good idea?
Wouldn't the world be a better place if all inheritance were collected and used to offer equal opportunity and education to all citizens based on skill, talent and ability without regard to birthright?

In the news today, some fellow was born with two fully functioning male organs. He is asking to have one removed so that he can have "normal relations". What do you think? Should he have one removed?
