Very young kitten doesn't want to eat?
Just yesterday afternoon, I got a kitten from our local humane society. His paperwork says he's got all of his needed shots. It also says he's 8 weeks old, but I am skeptical. He's really tiny, very loving and only wants to cuddle and sleep. Such a tiny baby. My problem is that since I picked him up from the shelter, he's only had a tiny bit of water...doesn't want to eat. They told me that he was eating dry food....but he doesn't want to for me! Anyway, not as of yet. I am going to the store to buy some milk replacer, a syringe and also some chicken or turkey baby food. Has anyone had luck with the baby food thing? He needs to eat, even if it's just a little bit.
11 AnswersCats3 years agoSpider Cookies recipe, anyone?
I am looking for a recipe for spider cookies. The recipe I followed once before called for chinese noodles, and it was a very simple recipe with only a few ingredients. They were delicious, but I no longer have the recipe. Anyone familiar?
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes7 years agoHELP with recipe details.....?
I am making a cake icing that calls for 8 oz. of cool whip. We do not care for cool whip in our home so I was going to make whipped cream from heavy cream. How much heavy cream should I be whipping to make 8 ounces once whipped?
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoI have a new job that requires a lot of standing.?
If I stand too long, my lower back gives me issues (tightness, aches, etc) This is only in the lower back area. Does anyone have suggestions as to what type of belt I could use in that area to help with support? I am willing to spend the money as long as the product works well. Thanks for any suggestions.
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management7 years agoI was just hired for a position that I applied to, and it does require a good amount of standing.?
My back (lower) gives me issues...tightness in lower muscles, ache in same area, etc. It's just the lower back that bothers me if I stand too long. I really need the job, but I am wondering if people out there, who also require help to support their lower back, can give me recommendations on what they use to help them. I'm thinking a waist belt of some sort. I am willing to invest the money, even if expensive, as long as it works good. Any suggestions? Thanks!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoI have a question about purchasing a home?
I am wondering about my chances of purchasing a small house. I have been at the same job now for about 17 years, but I do NOT have good credit. I do not make a lot, either....about $32,000 per year. Both of my grown children live with me. Although, if I had to, I could probably come up with (in time) a small down payment, I currently do not have a large amount put aside for that purpose. So...my question to any knowledgeable real estate agent out there is....what are my chances of being approved to buy a house, and what different options are out there for low income people who have a steady job, but who also has lousy credit? Do I even have a shot at buying a home, and if so, where do I even start?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoSearching out Husky owners.....?
I have a 2 year old husky who is being majorly bothered this summer by fleas. His fur is so thick (which is why I'd like advice from fellow husky owners), and Front line is NOT working. My daughter put Advantax (?) on her cat. She got it through her vet, and it seems to be working for him. But I don't know if I should spend the money on that same thing for my husky or try something else that might be better. Any advice? I'd like suggestions on what is working for other husky owners (or any other breed with a ton of fur). It really doesn't have to be over the counter product. If you've got a home remedy that is working for you, feel free to share. Thanks a bunch!

2 AnswersEtiquette8 years agoI'm assuming that I have a leak in the check valve of my well pump?
The pump will kick on about every 45 minutes to an hour even if no one is using the water. There are no drips or leaky faucets happening anywhere. I work the night shift, so to give the water pump a 'break', when I leave for work, I go down cellar and turn off the main switch to the water pump, and when I get home in the morning, I go down cellar and turn it back on for daytime use. Is this OK to do?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWell pump water pressure?
I live in the country. The well, which is not that old, is outside and underground in the backyard. The water pump itself is in the cellar above ground. I notice that, even if I am NOT using any water, the pump kicks on every hour or so. Water pressure is always pretty good inside the house, so that's not a problem. I am just wondering why the pump kicks on every hour or so even if water is not being used and no faucets, etc are leaking.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWell water pump kicking on?
I live in a residential/country area, and I have a well pump down cellar. I notice that, even if I am not using any water, nothing is running (toilet, etc) it tends to cycle on and off every hour or so. The pressure is always good, so that's not an issue. I am just wondering....is it normal for it to do this?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoMexican Hot ingredients?
I have a vague recipe to make mexican hots. One of those ingredients is chili powder. Does anyone know if this particular ingredient will spice them up and add heat to the finished product? In the town where I live, it's difficult to find a good and spicy Mexican Hot so I thought I'd give it a shot and make my own!
1 AnswerEthnic Cuisine8 years agoStuffed chicken breasts?
I have two chicken breasts, medium sized, stuffed with shredded cheddar and bacon. How long should I bake them for and at what temperature? Thanks!
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoMexican Hots Recipe, Anyone...?
I am looking for a recipe for Mexican Hots. Some people have no idea what they are, but if you do, and you have a recipe, would you be kind enough to share? They are rolled (almost hot-dog shaped) hamburg mixture with spices and jalepeno peppers, red pepper flakes, etc. Usually, they are served on a hot dog bun with either mustard and onions or meat sauce. I used to have a recipe, but I lost it. I'd like to make a batch of them this weekend if I can find someone with a good recipe to share. Thanks!

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoI take fresh, chopped garlic daily?
for medicinal purposes. I let it oxidize for a few minutes before actually swallowing it. My only question for anyone with knowledge on this subject is... should I take it WITH food or WITHOUT? Which is the BEST way for the antibiotic properties to enter your system? And in your opinion, how many cloves is sufficient for it to actually be beneficial? Thanks!
5 AnswersAlternative Medicine9 years agoFresh chopped garlic?
I've been eating fresh, chopped garlic, a couple of cloves of it, daily now for a couple of months. Lately though, I've noticed it's been bothering my stomach some. Is there a supplement available that would be equal to the health benefits of the fresh garlic? If so, where would I find it, and what's the approximate cost? Thanks!
1 AnswerAlternative Medicine9 years agoFresh garlic benefits?
I have been eating fresh garlic cloves for about a month now, hoping to reap some of the health benefits of this super food. There are times, though, when I feel lazy, and I do not feel like peeling, chopping, etc the cloves. Is there a particular garlic supplement that I can take which will give me the equivalent benefits of fresh garlic, and if so, what is the brand name? I've always read that in order to get the full health benefits of garlic, one has to eat fresh, rather than the supplements. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
2 AnswersAlternative Medicine9 years agoOK, so I bought my bottle of Melatonin....?
now I'm hesitant to use it. I work the night shift, and rarely go to sleep before 6:00 AM.. Over the past year or so, I've found it very difficult to sleep more than four hours per day. I am usually up by about 11 in the morning. After a couple of days of this, I am dragging. Someone suggested to me melatonin, and i went out and bought it but it's still sitting on the shelf, unopened. Is there anyone out there in a similar situation as myself (working all night/going to sleep in the morning) who has also tried melatonin?
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care9 years agoQuestion regarding taxes and dependents....?
My daughter (17 right now) will be going to college part time in the fall. She also has a part time job. She lives at home, and I support her...housing, food, etc. Will I be able to claim her as a dependent on my income taxes? Also, someone told me I can claim credit for her going to college, but I wonder if that means only if she goes full-time. Does anyone know? Thanks!
