3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoOk...so are we supposed to accept Casey's defense story now?
...that Caylee drowned accidentally, no one thought to call 911 (even though George is former law enforcement!) & then George dumped her dead body (duct-taped, no less!) in the woods in plastic bags & a blanket from the home...covering up an accident to make it look a crime? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Ms. Pathological Liar got away with murder. I hope she doesn't have any more children. No smoking gun, but I cannot for the life of me understand how the jury came back with not guilty verdicts on the most serious charges. It's sickening. That poor little baby. There was no justice for Caylee. NONE.

3 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoIF my account were deleted (GASP!), would it affect...?
...my personal Yahoo email address/account that I've had for YEARS?
Peoples' accounts seem to get deleted for the silliest of things. I often wonder if I'll be next. If my email account got deleted along with my YA persona, I would be TOTALLY screwed -- I used my Yahoo email account exclusively for everything!
SO, Would I even get a 'warning' from the monitors if I were being too 'naughty'? Or would I just try to log on one day & not be able to?
Does the number of my violations or how many of my questions having been deleted influence them in their deciding who gets deleted?
It seems odd (to me, anyway) that the YA monitors would be able to cut me off completely from ALL Yahoo services for a misconstrued statement, typo, strong opinion, etc.
I've seen MANY atrocious, mean & incredibly offensive Answers that were NOT deleted (really awful stuff!). Rest assured, I've NEVER been that horrible!
Any thoughts?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoDouble-stain trouble...?
My 11-year old daughter came home from school the other day with a quarter-size black permanent marker stain on her new white cotton school uniform polo shirt. To make matters worse, she tried to 'cover' the stain with White Out correction fluid! (so now there are 2 stains in 1). She only wore the shirt once, it cost me like $30 & NO way am I going to get rid of it. Any suggestions on how to get the stain out w/o ruining the shirt?
4 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoHas anyone else ever experienced a mysterious 1-time allergic reaction to strawberries, shrimp &/or oysters?!?
I've eaten these foods them many, many times since childhood w/o incident. However, ONCE time in my adult life, I experienced allergic reactions after eating these familiar foods: at age 19 immediately after consuming strawberries (lots!) I broke out in hives all over my body; at 29 I ate shrimp parmesan at a restaurant & developed hives on my face & arms while still eating my meal!; at 31, I ate oysters (from a fancy NYC restaurant!) & almost immeditely my lips swelled & my gums bled. How could someone have an allergy so infrequently? FYI I've eaten all these foods since then, many times, without any adverse reaction whatsoever!
7 AnswersAllergies1 decade agoTo everyone who answered: "Am I being paranoid, overprotective or smart?"?
Thank you all SO much for your Answers! Many suggested a self-defense class...I completely forgot to mention that my daughter's been taking shotokan karate since the age of 5 & IS a first degree brown belt. She can fight and defend herself -- however, she IS a CHILD & I do feel that a powerful adult would be able to abduct her -- or anyone -- for that matter if they really wanted to! Psychos are crazy & have been known to be strong as well -- surely stronger than an 11 year old girl. Once again, thanks to all.
7 AnswersParenting1 decade agoAm I being paranoid, overprotective or smart??
My kid's almost 11, smart, pretty, athletic, outgoing. I don't allow her to go anywhere alone. I've seen too many news stories where kids get snatched & then all the neighbors say "How shocking! That never happens HERE!" Hmm..."things" happen EVERYwhere. Recently, my mother-in-law (my daughter's stepgrandmother) sweetly suggested during an afternoon family visit that perhaps my daughter would like to take her poodle for walk (alone) in their neighborhood, since it's so safe, etc. Of course my daughter thought it was a great idea. While my MIL lives in a very nice, quiet area, but just a quick turn or two off a main highway! I let her go, reluctantly, but decided NOT to allow it again. My MIL thinks it's safe, but, to me, NO place is SAFE when a child is alone & vulnerable. I told her how I uneasy I was & that next time I'd accompany her if she chose to walk the dog (much to my daughter's dismay). Am I paranoid, overprotective or SMART. I think I'm being smart! Comments?
34 AnswersParenting1 decade agoMenstrual Cups...?
Ok, I JUST learned about menstrual cups today (i.e., Diva Cups, the Keeper, etc.); I'd never heard of them before. Anyway, I've used tampons forever; never had a problem with them, love 'em, in fact. I used a diaphragm years ago (for birth control) & positively HATED IT. I always got a UTI after using it; it was always pressing on my urethra. So, my question is: would I feel the same way about a menstrual cup? Can they be worn while sleeping all night long? It seems kinds messy; the testimonials sound awkward at best; annoying to insert properly, cleanse after use (like the dreaded diaphragm!) & seem unreliable regarding leakage. Does anyone have suggestions or experiences with this thing that they'd like to tell me about? It just sounds like so much trouble...right up there w/old-fashioned sanitary belts & pads.
7 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoQuestion re maturation of the Hensel twins...?
I mean no disrespect whatsoever. Abby & Brittany are awesome. They're also becoming adults. Since they have essentially 1 body with 2 heads, what sort of relationship(s) with boys/men can they realistically expect? Their condition is rare; survival in that circumstance is rarer still, yet they continue to thrive & amaze. Historically, other conjoineds married, but weren't joined the same as A&B. Can they have kids? If one or both of them marry, who would their husbands be making love to? It seems awkward. Would both feel it since that part of their bodies is shared? Should they consider polygamy? Their personalities are unique, but they DO share a body. I can't be the only person wondering. I saw their last tv special, it was interesting. Their mom wisely keeps them out of the spotlight so they can have as normal a life as possible. 1 of the gals mentioned how everyone would want to know who they date, etc. as they get older. Thoughts?
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhy can't a Muslim girl go to prom?
The other night I picked up my 10-year old daughter from karate class. There was an older Muslim woman there, watching her teenage daughter take the class. Afterwards, one of the sensei's spoke to the girl & her mom...casual conversation...asked her what school she went to, what year she was in, etc. When she said she was a senior, he said 'oh, i guess you're getting all ready for prom.' She said she wasn't going & her mom jumped in & said "No. Prom no good, no, she's not going.' What's up with that? I went to my prom & it was one of the best memories I have from my teenage years -- very wholesome & innocent. My daughter will definitely go to hers as well. Where's the harm?

A few years ago, we went to a lovely b&b in the Adirondacks. The owner sold the inn in '05. Any recommendations for a nice b&B that doesn't cost a fortune? We're going in September for our 1st anniversary. We enjoyed a wonderful wine dinner the last time...if anyone knows of an inn offering one, we'd appreciate it. Thanks.
1 AnswerOther - United States1 decade agoUnder-eye dermatology question?
In the last year or so, I've notice that I've developed several little 'cysts' around my eyes -- especially on the skin beneath the eye (the place where dark circles often appear). I tried scrubbing them off with a facial scrub, but they won't budge & they're not pimples. Should I see a dermatologist to have them removed? I'm wondering if they're caused by seasonal allergies (something else I've developed recently). Any input?
4 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoDoes anyone have any info on tree pollen allergy-induced migraines in children?
Recently, my 10 year old developed & was diagnosed with an allergy to oak pollen. She doesn't get the typical runny nose & sneezing, but her eyes get red & itchy, she gets chest tightness & says her throat is 'burning; sometimes she gets a horrible migraine, too. We've seen her pediatrician who recommended Kids' Claritin or Bendryl. (The Claritin gave her nosebleeds.) Does anyone out there have a child with a similar problem? What have you found that helps the most? She's seeing an allergist this week. I'm trying to find out as much info as I can. BTW, she's an athlete, loves the outdoors & will be away at 2 gymnastics camps this summer. Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerAllergies1 decade agoCan I sue for wrongful termination if...?
...I get laid off after being driven from my position by my boss - a sniveling, ungrateful, passive-aggressive, backstabbing weasel. I worked for him for 3+ years & catered to his every (professional) whim. I listened to him *****, whine, complain & moan...all the while offering him emotional support . I figured I had it made with brownie points after all that, esp. after his big anxiety attack at his desk. I ran to get him aspirin in case it was a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. He was put on benzos. When he returned, he had a hissy fit -- over nothing -- called me a liar --completely untrue & decided to have me replaced. I beat him to the punch & offered to float within our large main office (I didn't want to be 'canned'). Unfortunately, it was bad timing, since the company's downsizing. If i get laid off, can I sue for wrongful termination since the freak drove me to leave my spot? I've been a model employee at the company for almost 20 yrs!
