  • Can Republicans/those opposed to the Health Bill help me clear something up?

Ok, so let me set up right from the start that I'm not trying to prove a point or trip someone up or be clever by making others look a fool. I see enough politicising on here and not enough fact-searching. I'm a member of neither party, I'm not even from the U.S. - so you can tell me to mind my own business if you like - I just want a few decent responses.

So now that's out of the way, what I want to know is this: do you have a better solution? For many years there has been a bit of a problem with people getting access to healthcare. The bills were too high, people were having trouble getting the right care, people were having to leave the country to get the drugs they needed because it was cheaper. The number one reason for people going bankrupt was medical bills. Clearly there was a problem. Yet it seems everybody is opposed to this bill which helps people afford healthcare. Why? If you are against the bill, what other solutions do you have? Do you think it is right that people were losing their homes (or worse - their lives) because they couldn't pay medical bills?

The second part of my question is this: if you have medical insurance, which I assume most of you do, why are you against the idea of being forced BY LAW to buy it? You were paying for it anyway, so what's the problem? From what I understand, the bill ensures you get a decent price anyway, no?

Thank you for reading my rather long question(s) and I hope there will be rather more mature responses than some of the other tit-for-tat squabbles I've seen on Yahoo Answers.

  • What's wrong in America?

How can it be possible that a country can produce people with the desire to kill JF Kennedy, Martin Luther King and John Lennon, but nobody willing to kill George W Bush, Sarah Palin or Fred Phelps?

  • Is the mold on my soil harmful?

I am growing a number of herbs, starting them off in a propagator on my windowsill. A few days after planting, a white mold started to appear, and it stinks really bad. Now the plants have started to shoot through and the mold us starting to clear up as I allowed some ventilation.

My girlfriend is worried that the mold is going to be harmful for us, should we eat the herbs. Is there any danger? Should I just throw them out and start again, with less water?

  • I need a list of all flights, worldwide?

I am trying to compile a list of all airports worldwide, with a list of available destinations to fly from each airport. Does anybody know of a site where I can gather this information, in part or in total?

  • can i sue mcdonalds?

when i was younger, i could wash the dishes without using rubber gloves, without any worries about it affecting my skin.

about 10 years ago, i worked for mcdonalds for about 3 years, during which time, i developed skin contact dermiatitis, through the use of their cleaning chemicals. i was never provided with gloves while using them. even now, i cannot do the dishes without using them, and i am always worried about another breakout.
