9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould I trust my ophthalmologist?
I have a reoccurring cornea abrasion (scratched cornea). The eye doctor told me that it will continue on and off to be an issue but it can be controlled with a gel called GenTeal. I will have to use it every day to keep my eye moist enough for it not to pull open the cornea.
I asked him if there was a surgery to fix it, and he said yes but he didn't want to do it because there are risks associated with surgeries and even though 99% of them don't have a problem, unless it is really bad... like getting torn open once a week... he doesn't want to do the surgery.
I am now wondering if my doctors have my best interest in mind. I mean, if I can have a surgery to correct the problem instead of treating it for the rest of my life, it seems that would be the best way to go. Is he just having me treat it because he (like many other doctors) are trying to placate the insurance companies by cutting costs as much as possible?

3 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoSDA- How can I honor my father if he has disowned me for something I have no control over?
My daughter is gay. She was born that way and this is not a discussion about that so please don't even try to debate that. Anyway, I can't change it regardless and I will not treat her badly because of her orientation. I refuse. He has disowned me because we do not believe the same and he feels she has an evil spirit. How am I to keep the commandment to "Honor your father and Mother" if he has disinherited me and wants nothing to do with me?
I appreciate all answers but in particular I am looking for a Seventh Day Adventist answer.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do I get people to quit stopping to talk to me about my service dog?
It is really getting irritating. I have a Chihuahua as a service dog for a medical issue that causes me to be disabled. She alerts me so I can take my medication. I really get irritated when people give me snarky looks because she is so small and then they interrogate me about what she does. How can I explain to these people that I don't want to share my medical history with them and would like to live my life without having to explain my certified service dog to everyone I meet. My daughter says I am harsh in how I answer but I get so tired of always having to defend her because of her size.
6 AnswersPeople with Disabilities1 decade agoWhy does my Chihuahua attack the feet of two people that come to my house and how to stop it?
There are two brothers who come to my house that my Chihuahua goes after their feet to attack them.(Teenagers) She has never liked the one brother but the other brother and her have no history. I think that the brothers smell the same (They share a room) which is why she attacks them both. Neither brother has been mean to her but the one has a very high level of energy and it scared her when she first came here. (I Rescued her at age 6 years) She only has 2 teeth so she can't do any real damage but the point is that it is not acceptable behavior.
Ok, the big part is HOW DO I GET HER TO STOP? I have scolded her when she does it and she will run away for a second and then be right back at it. I don't know how to get it to stop. I don't want to lock her in her cage when they are over because I want to train her not to do this. It is unacceptable behavior. HELP!
3 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHas the swine flu been suspected/confirmed where you live?
I live in a small town in southern Michigan and they closed the schools for the next couple of days because a preliminary test for swine flu was positive in one of the students. Is this pretty consistent all around the united states? Has a school district near you been closed due to this H1N1 virus?
10 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoCould the bordatella vaccine cause my dog to be out of sorts for a week or so?
My 8 year old dog just got his bordatella shot about a week ago. He has not been acting like himself recently. Could the shot be the cause? If it is, will it last long?
He used to always want to play fetch with my husband when he comes home and he just hasn't wanted to recently. Also, he normally minds really well but recently if he is laying down, he won't respond to the come command until I get up and start walking toward him. It's not exactly lethargy as he will sometimes snap out of it for a bit but it's just weird. Any idea what's going on?

"If your eye offends you, pluck it out."
What if it is my mind that offends me? Am I allowed to destroy my brain if it is the part of me that offends God? Wouldn't suicide by gunshot to the brain be overlooked if the person were doing it because his/her mind offended God?

2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhy does my 8 year old dog keep peeing on my husbands bed?
He has been with us for 6 years and is typically good but we got a new bed a few months ago and he peed on the new comforter. Well, we tossed him out of the room and made him wear puppy panties for a while and it's been a few weeks since then and he peed on the bed again tonight!
After the first pee on the bed, we washed the comforter well and put it back on the bed. He doesn't typically pee anyplace else in the house unless it is an accident but this seems like it is on purpose. I mean, he had been outside at 8pm and then by 10pm he peed on the bed? I am confused. Any idea why he is peeing on our new bed and new comforter? I do know that he doesn't seem to like the new comforter but he isn't allowed back up there until it is back on the bed, so it's not like he gets to hang on the bed without the comforter on. He is a Lhasa Apso.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDo you think that it is harder for bisexuals than for straights and Gays?
The reason I ask this is because at least with Straights and Gays, we pretty much KNOW that we only like one gender. With bisexuals, they have a lot of confusion because they don't know if they are straight or gay. I often see questions on here where people are struggling to figure out if they are gay or straight when most times they are bisexual. Do you think it is harder for a bisexual to come to terms with their sexuality than it is for gays and straights?
