  • Post-pardum sit-ups?

I am 5 months post pardum with baby #3. First pregnancy was twins and I had no problems doing sit-ups after them. Now, with this singleton I physically cannot do a sit-up. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much.

  • High diastolic blood pressure?

The only time in my life I have had issues with my BP is when I'm pregnant. Seeing as how its next to impossible for me to be pregnant right now (Mirena IUC), I found it odd that I was having my high bp symptoms (seeing spots, headache, dizzy, etc). I took my bp and it was 132/94. I'm about to be 27, relatively healthy and in good shape for having a 4 month old. No new stressors in my life right now and I'm not really a fan of salt. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks.

  • Red rasberry leaf?

Ok, so I was advised to start drinking red rasberry tea (not for labor induction, it actually doesn't induce labor for all of you that are going to say that). I'm taking it for the benefits of toning the uterus in anticipation of labor in a few weeks. Anyway, my local health food store is out of tea leaves. All they had were the capsule form. She told me to take 1-3 capsules per day. My doc is out of town for the weekend and would like to know if anyone has a more specific amount to take. Thanks in advance.

  • Easing Chantix side effects?

My hubby is trying Chantix to quit smoking. This is his first week. It is already helping him, but the side effects are dampening the positive. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to lessen some of the side effects (nausea, fatigue, sleeplessness, vivid dreams). Thanks in advance.

P.S. he does take it with a meal and a full glass of water, as per instructions

  • VBAC after twins?

Ok, I'm mounting my defense for wanting a VBAC. I've researched and researched online. I have all my bases covered except one little thing. I fear this will be the loose end that will ultimately allow my doc to win out. I had an unplanned (and turned out to be unecessary) C-section with my twins 19 months ago. I will be about 21 months post C-section when this baby arrives. Does the fact that my last C-section was for multiples increase the chances of uterine rupture? I just want to have all the facts before I go back to the doc and we/he make the ultimate decision. My section was highly traumatic and I'm still emotionally scarred from it, almost two years later, and I DO NOT want a repeat. Please, if anyone has any facts, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Smoking ban in Louisiana?

Here's my situation. I work at a small air conditioning business. We have offices attached to a warehouse/workshop area. I work in the office area, as does my boss. I am 26 weeks pregnant AND have asthma. My boss continues to smoke in the office even as I protest (here's the kicker, its my father in law!). Now, I know Louisiana enacted a no smoking law for MOST businesses. I looked online and could not find any more details other than just "most businesses." My boss, for some reason, thinks that our business is exempt from the smoking ban. Any help? Thanks in advance.

  • Marine Reserves?

My husband did five years active duty in the Marine Corps. He started his IRR in June of 05. His IRR was to be up this coming June, but he's decided to go back, but into the Marine Reserves. I have no experience or knowledge of Reserve life. I know its very different from active duty and was just looking to hear any info anyone would have to offer. Thanks so much.

  • "Breaking" into my own house?

The house we bought had old, crappy locks. It was on our list of things to do. Never got around to it. Well, the lock finally broke on the front door, none of the keys will unlock it. So, I left it unlocked as I left for work this morning. Hubby, came back home behind me and locked the door....great. I was able to unlock the bottom lock on one of the doors but the deadbolt is locked (we never had this key, don't use this door, which is why its locked). I called all around town looking for a locksmith and apparently there is a locksmith convention which they are all attending. Does anyone know how I could get into my home without breaking windows? We have a good sized storm moving in and would like to avoid having a broken window right now. Thanks in advance.

  • Any one expecting twin girls?

If anyone is expecting twin girls and would like some clothes, please contact me. My girls are now 17 months old and I am drowning in their infant clothing. I wanted to hang on to it until I found out what I was having this time. Well, he's a boy and I don't think my hubby would be too happy with me dressing him in pink and purple. Let me know. Good luck with everyone's pregnancies!!!

  • Pregnancy Q & A?

Yes, I know this isn't a question. But there have been some hostililties on here lately and thought I'd share answers to some of our most common questions, with some humor. Best of luck to everyone in their TTC or pregnancies!

    Q: Should I have a baby after 35?

A: No, 35 children is enough.

Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my

    baby move?

A: With any luck, right after he finishes

    college.

Q: What is the most reliable method to determine

    a baby's sex?

    A: Childbirth.

Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody

    that sometimes she's borderline irrational.

    A: So what's your question?

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain

I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?

A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be

    called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?

A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the

delivery room while my wife is in labor?

A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything

    to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while

    recovering from childbirth?

    A: Yes, pregnancy.

Q: Do I have to have a baby shower?

A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very

    quickly.

Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my

wife begin to feel and act normal again?

A: When the kids are in college.

  • Former employee rejected COBRA?

I work for a small business. An employee quit (without two weeks notice) to go work for another company. The day he quit we told him about his options as far as keeping insurance coverage through Cobra. He came in the following Friday wanting to sign the paperwork saying he rejects it because he was getting put on the new company's insurance right away (the first of the month). He was covered with us until the end of March. On the 30th of March, we get a call that he was in an accident, serious. My question is, what responsibility do we have? His family is claiming that he has 30 days to decide about Cobra (even though he'd already signed the paperwork denying it). His problem is that he has only worked for the new company for a little over a week and now cannot work and will probably be let go, thusly losing his insurance. I have a call into the insurance comminsioner's office, but just wondered if anyone had any input. Thanks.

  • Wisdom Teeth?

I just left the dentist. All my teeth are perfectly fine. I have my two upper wisdom teeth. They have caused me no problems and do not have any cavities. My dentist suggest they be removed. Is this really necessary?

  • Arm pain after IV?

I had an IV in my hand overnight about two weeks ago. The nurse was an experienced nurse (been a nurse for 15 years) but she was busy talking to my mother in law while inserting my IV. Since then, my arm has been very tender. It feels like my arm is bruised from the IV site all the way to my elbow. I cannot flex my wrist because its so painful. I've had IVs in the past and the soreness has never lasted this long. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Interview Questions?

Tomorrow I will be sitting in on interviews with potential new employees. My boss asked me to contribute some questions to the interviewing process. I've come up with a few but was looking for some other's thoughts. We are a small a/c business, very customer service oriented. Thanks in advance.

  • Color safe detergent?

My husband's aunt asked me to do some digging and find out what the best color safe detergent is. She has all kinds of beautiful bright clothing that she wants to stay bright. I looked online, but she would like the opinions of regular consumers. Thanks in advance!

  • Croissant bread pudding?

I used to work in a little bakery and we sold this amazing bread pudding. It was the traditional sort with raisins and a rum sauce. It had a thick custard on the bottom and the croissants on top. Does anyone have a recipe similar to this? I'm pregnant and craving it like a mad woman! I'm about to hop a plane to California to get some! Thanks in advance.
