How can I get over my anxieties about babies?
I'm worried about becoming a father someday because crying babies can upset me. I know that's the only way they have to tell us that they WANT SOMETHING RIGHT NOW....but I wish I knew the best way not to get upset myself.
Sometimes it doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing; when I think of babies who don't have enough to eat or enough love, I get upset and wish for someone to hold me. It's been this way for most of my adult life so far. Am I having panic or anxiety attacks?
By the way, I don't know how to tell anyone I trust about this yet.
2 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoCan guys do the spa thing too? How about bubble baths?
I'm a guy who spends lots of time worrying inside while trying to convince everyone else that I'm 1,000 times more relaxed than I look. You ladies swear by things like spas and bubble baths as stress relievers. Sometimes I think maybe you know something I don't.
10 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoWhat's happened to shorts?
Earlier this month I went looking for new, "fashionable" men's shorts. I like the cargo pairs I bought very much (hanging below the knee, lots of pockets). Then I found out that women are getting into them just as much, with styles that look like shortened capri pants. Is this true? And if it is, why exactly don't we like our legs anymore?

As in segments from way back, when Kermit the Frog was talking about a letter before Cookie Monster ate it.
4 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoWhat does "spreading the good news" really mean when it comes to being Christian?
It seems that some negative attitudes about Christians stem from the preconceived notion that we're all out to convert people, after all, spreading the good news (about Jesus' death and resurrection and the benefits of believing in Him) is an integral part of our faith. And then you have televangelists who go on TV and do it for a living, some more infamous than others. Is the battle between church and state causing us to confuse simply telling others the stories of Jesus with outright forcing people to convert and shunning non-believers?

I didn't dare do it when my parents were in earshot because then I'd get yelled at. But it was great for a laugh.
5 AnswersMusic1 decade agoWho else likes to walk through the furniture displays in the big dept. stores at the mall?
I do, when I have extra time after shopping. Often I wonder who will buy them and what they might do when they have those elaborate bedroom or living room sets. It's quite beautiful, like walking through another world or slice of life.
2 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhat happened to the Vice-President?
Last week in his column, George Will cited the rationale that then-defense secretary Dick Cheney gave the New York Times for not going into Iraq during the Persian Gulf War:
"Once you've got Baghdad, it's not clear what you do with it....It's not clear what kind of government you would put in place of the one that's currently there. Is it going to be a Shia regime, a Sunni regime, or a Kurdish regime? One that tilts toward the Baathists, or one that tilts toward the Islamic fundamentalists? How much credibility is that government going to have if it's set up by the United States military when it's there? [Remember: this is the current Vice-President of the United States talking.] How long does the United States military have to stay to protect the people that sign onto that government, and what happens to it once we leave?"
So what changed Cheney's attitudes about going into Iraq? There has to be more to it than just 9/11.
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoJust how stupid does Ken Mehlman, the chairman of the RNC, think we are?
Of course he wants to make sure the GOP keeps control of Congress. But look at this.

Read the article. Then read the last paragraph. Then try to tell me that Mehlman even lives on the same planet as Warner, Hagel, Levin, Murtha, or anybody else who sees the need for a change of strategy in Iraq.
10 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoHow do Spanish-speaking kids sing the alphabet?
In English we sing it to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", but the Spanish alphabet has two additional letters that English doesn't have (the letters ch and rr are no longer considered seperate letters).
11 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoDo women have their own pleasure centers that men don't have?
I don't just mean sexual pleasure. As a photographer, I enjoy filming the women in my life. I make sure they look as natural and relaxed as they can before I take a picture. And when the pictures come out, sometimes my subject is so relaxed that she looks like she's entered this oasis of calm and/or pleasure inside herself that only other women know about, and men can never know about.
I have a feeling that whatever this is, either it has something to with women's mental health, or it's just my imagination.

11 AnswersMen's Health1 decade agoIn Mortal Kombat, who is Hydro?
Last night I downloaded and installed the latest version of the Mortal Kombat Project for Mugen. The new features in version 4.1 include the addition of Human Smoke, Motaro, and Hydro, and updates for some of the sound and visual effects.
Hydro appears to be an ice-blue cyber-ninja in the same style as Sektor, Cyrax, and Smoke (who I named myself after).
He can freeze and make ice clones like Sub Zero, and he lay an ice puddle like Classic Sub Zero. He can also morph into an uppercut, like Galacius from the Killer Instinct games. I'm having a lot of fun learning how to use him. Is he a hidden character from one of the first three games I don't know about? Does he have a storyline?

4 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhat do you do when Yahoo Messenger glitches?
All this month my girlfriend and I have been having problems trying to chat. But our Yahoo Messenger versions seem badly out-of-synch with themselves. For whatever reason, I never see her window pop up until she's getting ready to say goodbye (she prefers to keep stealth mode on for privacy). And she can't see any responses I try to send. We have affectionately nicknamed this phenomenon the Yahoo Glitch.
I decided to try to fix this by uninstalling 8.0 Beta and reinstalling 7.0 on my PC. But she uses a Mac and her Yahoo IM is not the latest version and it will be quite a while before she gets the latest version, and for some reason I'm not getting any e-mails she sends me either. And she's worried about me.
