  • Help with PC Speakers !?

I have just a regular set of E-Machines speakers that came with my PC, 2 years ago. All of a sudden they don't sound right. You can hear the music, but any voices or singing sounds extremely muted. I am wondering If I possibly changed some setting to cause that. Or, am I in the need of a new set of speakers? Thanks for your help !

  • Cheap Dvd sets vs. one by one releases by major company?

Anyone buy one of these complete box sets like The Practice ,where you can get a set of all the seasons at a fraction of the cost that would be to purchase seasons individually? They are not from the major distributor such as 20th Century Fox. Wondered if they would be worth it or not.

  • Is accepting Jesus Christ as savior enough to get you to heaven?

Or does one need good deads also to get to heaven? If a horrbile pedophile, who lived a sinful life, begs for forgiveness on his death bed,is this enough for him to avoid hell ? Is it just accepting the Lord, or does it take a combination. That would only seem fair to me.

  • Brakes on a '92 Olds 88?

The brakes are going (can hear the grinding sound). But I also hear a squealing sound from the front window. Could that be brakes too, or another problem? Thanks.

  • car mechanics out there ...?

If you were going to buy a used car, which scenario would be better : '94 Escort (well maintained) with 124,000 miles OR

a '94 Escort with only 44,000 miles. The second is from a dealer. OR a '97 Olds Achieva with 71 K miles from a private owner, seemingly in good condition. Is the Escort cheaper to repair than the Achieva or a Buick Skylark ? Thanking you for any advice.

  • A question for all you auto mechanics out there...?

If you were buying a used car on a limited budget, would you look for a Honda or Toyota that had 200,000 miles on it vs. a domestic car that was a few years newer, and had half the miles on it ? Thanks for any input.

  • state assistance for someone ill ?

Suppose a 50 year old man was very ill (had congestive heart failure and major heart surgery recently) and could not return to work, was out of sick days and vacation days, and has no money in the bank. Would he qualify for any state assistance. i.e food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance in Florida ? He will most likely qualify for disability, but that could take a year or more !

  • benefits question?

If you become very ill while working (severe heart condition), and use up your sick days and vacation. And can't work any more. Are all your benefits with the company then over. i.e. health insurance, life insurance etc ? Also, he has long term disability, but can't even apply for that until 90 days after he is first disabled.

  • A question about blood pressure relating to heart disease?

If you have congestive heart failure, would that cause your blood pressure to be low, because the heart isn't pumping enough? And if you have a blocked artery(without heart failure), would your blood pressure normally be higher than normal, due to the heart having to work harder?
