Looking for a 20 gauge shotgun...help please?
Hey! I am looking for a 20ga. shotgun for deer hunting this fall. The thing is, is most stores around here mostly have 12ga. shotguns, 3-30 or 30-06. Most or all of the employees keep trying to get me into a 12ga. when I clearly say, no 12ga. what so ever and that I want a 20 ga. Could this be because I'm female and they think I can't handle a 20ga? I've shot them numerous times before when I've gone hunting (they've been borrowed) and have had no problems.
Here's the thing though, most 20ga. are too heavy for me and some youth or womans models either have too short of a barrel or are pretty light duty and would not shoot the distance that I would prefer. What would be some good models to check out? The so called "kick back" I'm not worried about, no I don't want to have to be tied to a tree so I don't go flying the other way it kicks back so bad but I'm not worried about the gun having kick back. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have found one gun but the store no longer carries that specific gun or anything close to it so now I am stuck having to start all over again from the begining.
6 AnswersHunting1 decade agoBread bowl recipe problem?
I have an Italian bread bowl recipe that I really like but my problem is, is that I have only gotten it to rise correctly once or twice. I have made sure the water wasn't too hot but the correct temp. and let it proof for the correct amount of time. I have even let the dough rise for the right amount of time, even letting it sit longer just to make sure. The thing is, is that it doesn't seem to rise and they end up like bricks when I am finished. The yeast is not bad at all so I know that is not the problem there, so I'm really not sure what I may be doing wrong when trying to make them. I have never had a problem with making other breads before so I am not sure really what could be the problem with this specific recipe.
Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated. I really love this recipe since it goes well with so many soups and stews and now that it is getting closer to winter here and I do like that kind of stuff when it is cold out. Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoTattoo idea but still have a question.?
I already have 2 tattoos but want to get another one on my shoulder. My idea is of a tiger, prefferably a white one. I do have fair skin and am afraid of it fading being white. Would it be a better idea to go for the orange tiger instead of white or just get it in the black ink with no other color? Also, has anyone out there have a tattoo on their shoulder? Does it hurt and how do you care for it being on your shoulder where it's harder to reach it instead of somewhere else. I know what tattoo shop I would be going to and they are very reputable and have had a lot of people tell me that they are the ones to go to and have seen their tattoos and are very well done.
Any help/ideas would be great.
5 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoManager at work question....
Currently, I work at a gas station as an Assistant Manager. The store manager can be very 2 faced most of the times. She will send me a message stating that something didn't get done and get very mad at me about it saying it was my responsibility that it should have been done, even though I wasn't even there when whatever it was happened. She will also blame me for things that I supposedly didn't do even though I know for a fact that I did them and I will tell her that but she won't belive me one bit. Then when she will say something to my face about it, after sending me a memo thru our computer, she will be totally different about it like maybe it was someone else who did it and not me. The thing is, is my boyfriends ex-wife was the former manager, before her, and my manager never liked her at all. Now that I am there, she almost comes across as though she is trying to take it out on me that I am dating the ex-husband of someone she hated.
There have even been times where my boyfriend has called while I am at work, because it was an emergency or very important that he speak to me, and she will either tell him that I am busy when yes at the time I may have and that she will let me know he called but never even tell me that he had called or get really snotty towards him and slam the phone down and tell me that I have a phone call. Also, because of one time he had called to see when I would be home, because I was late and we actually had plans after I was finished with work, she now thinks that he is getting on my case about being home on time and that I cant stay late for any reason, which is totally false.
My question is, is do I go directly to her and talk to her about it or go over her head to the District Manager? I also have a neighbor working at another gas station, same name but different store, who is not in management, making more than I am and acutally getting more hours while mine keep getting less and less each week. Should I ask her about the pay as well? I have already asked her why my hours each week keep getting less and less each week.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoCowboy Troy??? Really even Country???
Ok, heres the deal. I was at Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and on Friday night Big & Rich played. Cowboy Troy appeared with them, actually, he sang a couple of songs before Big & Rich came one. Well, my question is, is how can Cowboy Troy call himself Country? He is nowhere near country. He should be considered rap in my opinion. The songs that he did were so rap it was not funny and the words in them were VERY vulgar and two rows in from of me were young children, one of them was lucky to be 3 years old. I was so shocked that they even allowed him to perform at all. It really got to the point when it got pretty bad and one of the lines in his so called songs was "where are all the skanky contry bi*****" I almost got my stuff and walked out and went home. My question is, is do other people out there think the same thing about Cowboy Troy? Also, do you even think calling the main office of the place that handles this music fest to tell them would even help?
2 AnswersCountry1 decade agoSmall itchy bumps when I get tan or sunburn???
Only in the summertime when I get tan or sunburn or even when I get a little too hot do I get these small bumps on my lower and upper arms and that area where they are begins to itch. What could this be? I do wear sunblock when I am outside but still get burned or tan some. I have always gotten this but as I have gotten older it seems to have become more noticeable and more irritating.
If anyone may know what this is or why or any ideas it would be appreciated.

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoPeony help?
I planted a peony last year and doesn't look as if its starting to come back this year. I've read that peonies like it when it's cold over winter for them to go dormant. Well, where I live, in Wisconsin, we've had a cold winter so that's not a problem. The question is, do peonies take longer to start growing or bloom than other perennials or is it a lost cause with it?
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
5 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoTons of liilies! Help!?
I have a TON of Asiatic lillies that are just multiplying each year. I have run out of space in my gardens that get sun. I have some room in my backyard where its mostly shaded. Can I replant them in a shaded area that gets little sunlight each day or will they die? Also, can pixie lillies be planted in the shade as well? I know lillies are very hardy but I'm not sure if they can be planted in the shade.
Thanks for any help!
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoManager problem at work. Please help...?
I just recently became a manager at work. The manager who is training me, well, to put it nicely, has no patience or people skills. She constantly is yelling and makes me feel like I am the size of an ant. No matter what I do, it is not right to her. I make a mistake, she comes down on me like a ton of bricks and so on. Not only does she do this with me, she does this with other employees. Also, she will yell and come down on people in front of other employees and customers. I have talked with the store manager and told him the situation and it is still continuing. I contstantly come home from work upset and stressed out to the point of being sick. I do work in fast food and don't get paid enough to have to deal with this. What other options do I have? Can I go above the store managers head and go to someone else or should I go back to the store manager again? Any advice would help.
10 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoLazy people at work. What to do?
I work with a lot of people that are atleast 10 years younger than I am. By the way, I am 30 years old. The manager, of the shift that I work, is 20. Most or all are more interested in talking on their cell phones, goofing around, taking smoke breaks atleast every hour and the manager lets them get away with it. He himself, will go out for smoke breaks every hour, sometimes every 30 minutes. I have seen this happen when I have been working. I have even heard one co-worker swear loud enough for everyone, even customers to hear and didn't even care. The acutal store manager is pretty spacy and always seems like he has a million things going on and is hard to talk to. Anyway, what should I do about this situation besides finding another job? Any kind of advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
6 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade agoDog behavior?
I have an 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier and got her when she was 10 weeks old. She has always been very submissive and scared of EVERYTHING! If she sees another dog, she will bark and growel like she is acting tough but then run away from it with her tail between her legs. If there is someone she doesn't know, she will not go near them and run by me to "hide". Only she will go by them if they "ignore" her and such. She also, will pee a little when you reach down too fast to pet her or pick her up. We do have another dog and she is just fine around her and will be rambucious as usual playing with her. With my boyfriend and I she is just fine but most other people she is afraid of. We don't hit her or abuse her in any way but her behavior is funny. She is a friendly dog and loves to be around people and kids but never understood why she is so submissive and timid.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoBoyfriend Trouble...Please help!! Read on...?
My boyfriend of 7years does not work, he is disabled. I myself work full-time. He does nothing all day but play video games on his xbox360 or watch tv. When I ask him for help or tell him that I need help with things around the house, he always has some kind of excuse. He can't even take out our dogs when I am at home on my days off of work. Not only do I work full-time, which are overnights, I do ALL the housework, including picking up HIS messes that he leaves, wash his clothes and his childrens, do not only all of the dishes but have to scrape his food off of his plates and such that he leaves lay all around. Yes, I have numerous times told him that I can't deal with it anymore and that I am going to leave him if he can't help out more and play his video games less. Each time I say that I am leaving he will tell me that before I take anything out of our place, yes just my things nothing else, that I have to pay back what money I supposedly owe him which is nothing.

7 AnswersChristmas1 decade agoFiancee's children? Help please....?
My fiancee has 2 kids, ages 7 and 9 from a previous marraige. We have them every other weekend and almost all the time over summer break. Well, the thing is, is that they are sooooo troublesome. They contsantly fight, not normal sibling rivalry but punching each other, kicking, and so on. They are also destructive too! They pull paint off of walls in our home, have torn the curtains in their room off the wall, broke their light, and broken other things by fighting. They don't listen at all and nothing seems to help. His 9yr old will cry and pout when she doesn't get her way or she isn't allowed more food when she's had more than enough. His 7yr old just laughs when she gets punished like its a joke and will continue her actions. Also, his 9yr old has been caught by us stealing things from our home and at stores and no matter what we try, she doesn't realize that it's wrong. The sad thing is, is that their mother doesnt care and my fiancee really wont try to fix it. Any help!

Besides for them decorate cookies or stringing popcorn, I really can't think of anything else for them to do. They love to do crafty stuff and all but like I said, I'm really drawing a blank on this one. Any ideas would be really appreciated! Oh and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!
10 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoCortisone injection....?
I had a cortizone injection in my back yesturday and it was in the spine. I was told that I would be given a sedative for it and that I should expect to be in a lot of pain. When I did get the injection, I didn't get any sedative and it really didn't hurt that much. It felt more like getting blood drawn but with a little more pressure. After having it done, it was a little sore but could still get around without too much pain. Is this really normal and has anyone else experienced this before?
I'm not complaining any, but I was expecting it to be much worse since I did get the injection in the spine. I have been told by others who have gotten them that they do hurt a lot when you get them in any kind of joint.
