Is it possible that insurgents in Iraq are waiting until just before the September report to attack?
19 are already dead in only 7 days in August. Maybe insurgents are simply waiting until right before the progress report to embarrass us.
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIn Iraq, could we be creating conditions for the return of the Baathist party?
The Bush clan is now trumpeting success on dealing with al Qaeda in Iraq.
There is one problem though: They are doing this by arming Sunni tribesman, many of whom are former members of Saddam's party.
This has the Shiite government terrified that we are arming groups that may try to overthrow the extremely weak government in Iraq.
Might it be possible we will go back to square one?
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIf we are in Iraq to fight the war on terror, why not attack Saudi Arabia instead?
The latest estimate is that 1 out of 3 insurgents in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia. Many of the 9/11 attackers were from Saudi Arabia (none were from Iraq).
Now, I know why we're not attacking them (oil and money). But doesn't the fact that Bush embraces the king of Saudi Arabia given the above info just prove the hypocrisy of his "war on terror"?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDoes actually passing a federal law matter any more?
Even the pressure and threat of federal legislation seems to stir up action at the state levels. CA, NY, and many other states have taken the lead on global warming. States are beginning their own immigration plans. Is it that important any more that legislation get passed federally?
