Is it possible that insurgents in Iraq are waiting until just before the September report to attack?

19 are already dead in only 7 days in August. Maybe insurgents are simply waiting until right before the progress report to embarrass us.

"Looking ahead" brings up a good point about politics. If we consider Iraqi politics, it appears that an 'insurgency' is already happening, although I don't know if it will be covered by mainstream US media. I'll try to find more "conventional" new-sources, but in the meantime:

-- Iraq's Government Faces Political Paralysis:

The Iraqi government is facing a political crisis after five more cabinet members announced they will start boycotting government meetings. Of Iraq's thirty-eight ministers, seventeen have now either left the government or suspended their participation in it. Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki's government no longer has any members affiliated with Sunni political factions... Iraq's government is now paralyzed because Maliki is unable to convene a quorum of the council of ministers to approve legislation or take other actions."

The International Crisis Group is is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to preventing and resolving deadly conflict. Joost Hiltermann, the group's Middle East project director, said, "The Shiites and the Kurds don't want to cede power to people they don't trust. But if they don't, there won't be reconciliation. Then all we can look forward to is civil war."

Possible, but a "Tet Offensive" style attack is unlikely, mainly because unlike Vietnam there is no single, unified enemy who can centrally plan and coordinate a widescale offensive. Iran could do a little, Al Qa'ida could do a little, the Mahdi Army could, and other militias could, but for them to all do it at once is highly unlikely.

It is probable there will be an uptick in the violance, but I see no evidence of a large scale surprise attack.

What? There are insurgents still in Iraq? I thought the troop build up took care of that problem. We better send more troops and throw more money at them to get them to go away.

do no longer you recommend that each and each civilian in Iraq is an insurrection? whilst they are lifeless, it rather is? "insurrection". it rather is entirely a be conscious, and maximum cases that's the incorrect be conscious. If somebody became invading your place, attempting to kill your loved ones and rob you...and you tried to resign them, would desire to they rightly call you an "insurrection"? Iraq did no longer deliver this conflict. they did no longer invade the U.S. they are attempting to combat back against an invasion from the U.S. they are attempting to guard themselves, their families, community, subculture and us of a. and that they are "insurgents"?! provide your head a shake. Your help of this conflict and the injustice it represents is an abomination.
