Whenever I take a Harry Potter personality quiz I get Hermione. When I take an Empire Records quiz I get Joe. That's, like, 90% of what you need to know about me.

  • Does the phrase "BSG 75" on the Battlestar Galactica seal mean anything specific?

I have seen other numbers like 68 and 45 on the same seal. I need to know which seal I can use in a promotional image of Richard Hatch who played Capt. Apollo. Sorry, geeky about lots of things but never got around to sitting down and watching BSG.

  • Advice on belts for Necchi 575 FA, please?

I have a Necchi 575 FA and I need to know if I can oil or condition the belts, or if I should buy new ones. The wheel turns like there's gravel in it, and the pedal makes it sound like it's straining. Obviously with years of disuse in my garage, it needs some kind of repair. Can I do this myself or do I have to take it in?

Please don't post answers which are useless like "lol idk" or "nope, sorry!" If you do, everyone will know you're a greedy point whore.

  • Does anyone remember this Eastcoast/New York killer?

When I was little, maybe 8, so like, 1990, I saw a news story on ABC about women who would discover paper darts in their hair or clothing after walking in the city in New York. The darts were made of paper, and the point was made of either a sewing needle or a pin. The women weren't sure EXACTLY where they had picked up the darts because some didn't notice them until they got home. There were no fingerprints on the needle, so they tried the paper, though the paper wasn't a kind that would hold prints. I vaguely remember this being connected to a serial killer. Does anyone remember this story or what may have come of it?

Please do not reply with "no," "sorry, I don't," or "why do you care?" These non-answers are super lame and they make you look like a point-whoring idiot.

  • In what year does The Woman in Black take place?

    The Woman in Black (2012)

Can you please tell me what year or time period the story takes place? eg. somewhere around 1890-1910, etc.

Telegrams are commonplace. The guy who owns the town's only car doesn't have a phone.

There are birth and death certificates shown in the film, but they are for people who were born or died years before.

    Thank you!

  • Can I get a regular sized backpack with a camel back in it into Disneyland?

I've been a bunch of times, but have only taken a purse-sized backpack in. They always let people in with camel backs in that I've seen. But usually I don't see much large (regular sized) backpacks. We don't have kids. I'm not taking in anything contraband. I'm just concerned about size.

  • Bible passage speaking about discovering what it is we're called to do in life...?

I just heard it today, Easter Sunday. I think it was referenced in the homily, not read directly today (as it was the story of the Resurrection). It was about how you can be surprised to discover what it is that you've been called to do in life, how to use your talents. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

But try to be an adult, okay? Don't give me some trolling chapter and verse that has nothing to do with this question, thanks.

  • Why have my SIM card contacts disappeared (BB Storm/Verizon), and how do I retrieve them?

I got a BB Storm, moved my contacts from my old Samsung to its original SIM. Moved that SIM to my BB Storm. Copied contacts to Storm. Everything worked fine. Months later, checked to make sure all contacts were backed up on the SIM, then removed it from my Storm, then wiped the Storm. Reinserted SIM, and there were no contacts.

Have I lost them for good, or does the guy at Verizon have some crazy voodoo magic to get them back for me?

Dumb answers will be thumbed down, and I will think less of you as a person.

  • Where can I find this poem, and its author? "When It Comes"?

I believe the title is "When It Comes." It's about getting one's period, and what it's like to wait for it to appear. I've google searched it to no avail. It's by a feminist author, I think.

There is a line that talks about "drops blossoming on the bathroom floor."

Dumb answers or lame comments will be downrated. So stop it. No one thinks you're funny.

  • Can I carry a gun back and forth to and from California and Nevada?

I'm just starting to research on open and concealed carry laws here in Vegas. I need to know if I can buy a gun here and carry it with me legally when I drive from Vegas home to Ventura County in California. Do I have to have a permit in both Nevada (Clark County) and California (and/or individual counties)? Any relevant info is appreciated.

  • Lyrics help -- white lines behind the tour bus...?

I'm trying to remember this song. The only part I can remember is the male singer talking about watching the white lines from the back of his tour bus. Possibly references to rain as well? It's about being on the road and away from home. It's not Homeward Bound, though. Any help is appreciated.

  • In the series V, episode 3, how did Erica know the code to get into the room with all the video screens?

Right before the half hour break, after Erica captured the shooter and the V took him into custody, Erica tried twice to enter an access code into a little red panel. She got the code on like, the second try. Did I miss the part where she learned the code, or learned to "speak/read" V?

  • Why isn't Photoshop CS2 responding to tool selection changes?

I've been using Photoshop for ages before today, and today I used it for several hours with no problems at all. Right now it's the only application running and there is no lag time. But I can't get the cursor to change into any other tool than the grab-it hand.

Could I have accidentally selected some option to make the file uneditable? I know other programs have this feature so you don't make mistaken changes while viewing it. But what could I have done to it, and how do I change it back?

This occurs on all five files I have tested it on, and it's only occurred in the last few minutes.

    Grr, so frustrating!

  • I have horrible ADD. How do I keep my apartment organized?

My ADD is so bad that I can barely concentrate on writing this question. I could use some tips from people with ADD who have managed to figure out how to organize (and keep organized) their apartments, or other small spaces.

I'm okay but not great with other organization in life (work things, etc.) But my apartment is mostly boxes because I can't just sit down and unpack.

Please, don't leave a lame answer like "idk lol" I don't need to know you're an idiot.

  • I have a Canon DS 126151 Rebel XTi. Does this camera's screen also act as a view finder?

Does the screen on this camera act as the screens on most digital cameras? Does it show you what you're looking at, or do you only use the attached viewfinder located above the screen?

    Thanks in advance!

Also, please don't be pathetic and answer "IDK." I don't need to know you're an idiot.

  • To whom do I report staggering incompetence in the Nevada State Child Welfare/Mental Health departments?

My friend's 14 y.o. brother is being "rehabilitated" in the Nevada State Children's services health and welfare departments. He is in there because he molested his younger brothers and sisters. His therapists are saying there is only a 50/50 chance he will molest again, and they are FORCING his mother to take him back because MEDICAID has run out. They keep putting words in his mouth whenever he insists that he WILL do it again, telling his family that he doesn't mean that. There are seven other minor children in the house, and the state workers are telling the mom that if it DOES happen again SHE could get in trouble and LOSE HER OTHER KIDS. This woman has adopted these children to take them AWAY from this kind of life.

So, WHO do I call, write, knock on the office door of? I'm drafting letters to the state senators and representatives, the DA, and the local news paper. I'm going to work on the local news and talk radio outlets. Any more ideas?

In before: "state workers were your first problem," "kill him," "why does she have so many kids," "adoption is dangerous," etc. etc. Any smart *** answers will be reported.

  • What are the names of those Japanese dolls..?

These are the dolls that one orders primarily from Japan, which have very life-like faces, hair, eyes, etc. They are, I *think,* about the height of a Barbie doll. I believe they are expensive, but I don't know. Is there a brand, or just a style by which they are identified?

I've tried looking on google, but obviously "japanese toy doll" brings up some ... unnecessary options...

  • Looking for a very low to the ground dining table... Do you know any good online sites where I can find one?

I'm looking for a table for my dining room. I would like it to be very low to the ground, maybe no more than a foot off the ground. Something that might seem Japanese or Middle Eastern style would be great.

I've spend the better part of an hour hunting on line. I'm in the Vegas area but I travel to So. California often.

Any ideas? I would get a low table and just cut the legs down, but I live in an apartment and I'm not up for carpentry :)
