The clerk is described as "not fat," and "emaciated," in the Prologue to the tales. I have been unable to find any meaning for that description based in medieval physiognomy, though I would assume that it represents humility, or absent-mindedness, or some such.

I need MS Office Professional 2007, but it costs a ton. I found it cheaper at a few different sites, but his one looked to be about the most reliable and least likely to give me some weird pirated version or something similarly lousy. Has anyone purchased something from specialtechs.com?

My grandparents bought me a car (2002 Saturn SL2) in PA, where evidently front license plates are not required. (If I'm wrong, go ahead and correct me please.)

I got new license plates today, and went to put them on, only to discover that there aren't any holes or bolts or anything that could possibly hold the plate onto the front bumper. Any suggestions as to how to attach it?

I know I could go to a dealer or body shop, but I'd prefer to do it myself, because cash is hard to come by as a kid saving for college.

I'm planning to learn the Smothers Brothers "Chocolate" routine to perform with my brother, but neither of us plays guitar (I can fake it though, as I play bass) , so I have no idea how to play the musical bits. I doubt I'll be able to learn the picking, but if I can just play the right chords it should turn out OK, and I can teach my brother the bass, but what I need is just the chord progressions. If someone can listen to the recording (link at the end) and figure out the chord progressions, I'd be very appreciative.

aright, so the deal is this. I've never bothered much with how I dress. jeans, shorts, sweats, tshirts, polos, hoodies, whatever, I don't wear name brands, except nike and adidas (and i only have those since I'm an athlete, and they only vaguely qualify as name brand anyway).

so I discovered I have no pictures of facebook or even on my computer of me looking like I normally do, but I'm in normal clothes in the first one (but with a goofy expression), and the shirt I wore to church today in the 2nd and 3rd.

Ok, so i'm going to replace my 30 gig video for christmas this year, after 2 years of heavy use. I don't want to spend more than $250, so I have 2 good options. I could get the 16 gig nano, or the 8 gig touch.

the trouble is, I've already got 8 gigs of music and a few more of video. I went through my itunes today, and figure I can get rid of about 5 gigs of music without much regret, so the capacity isn't too much of a problem... too much. I'd rather have more space, obviously. Then again, the touch is incredibly cool.

the touch has cool apps, and I can go on facebook easily, and whatever, but I'm a runner, and i'm always frustrated by how big my video is when i go run, and the touch is even bigger...

Advice? preferably based on owning or using one or both of the two?

So I'm on facebook when this chat bubble pops up, and one of my friends asks if she can tell me something. I said, yeah, then (hoping she wasn't about to tell me she's crushin) maybe? then she says "I've thought you're really cute ever since acting" (that's over a year, fyi). at this point I'm thinkin "oh crap."

Then she tells me that I'm really hot with long hair (a request to grow it out again), and then flirts for about 20 minutes, implying multiple times that she wants to go out.

Like I said, we've been good friends for over a year, and she's plenty good looking, but I don't want to go out with anyone (and she wouldn't be my first choice if I did.).

I've seen too many friendships messed up by relationships and too many people mindfudged by weird relationships to think going out before I have something worthwhile to put into a relationship (I'm not even driving yet, even tho I should've got my licence more than yearago.) I'm very opposed to teen relationships in general.

Here lies the real problem. I don't want to hurt her feelings (but that's probably unavoidable) and I don't want to stop being friends, cause she IS cool to chill with. How the heck can I let her know I'm not interested in going out without messing up our friendship or crushing her emotions?

I (actually my grandpa, but that's not the point) picked up a new (meaning not used lol) DVD at FYE in Florida a few days ago while we were on vacation. We came home to Maryland, only to discover that the new DVD didn't work properly. I'm assuming that I can return (hopefully exchange) the bad disc at a different branch.

I just don't want to look like an idiot, trying to return something with a receipt from a store a thousand miles away.

I want to be able to charge my dad's iPod shuffle through my computer, but I don't want it to start syncing with my iTunes library, which happens automatically when I plug it into the USB cord.

the reason I need to do this is that I'm going on a trip and taking my acdc adapter with me, so he won't be able to charge his shuffle for the week that I'm gone.

I'm a huge Mike Dirnt fan, and I kinda want to get a replica bass, but I don't have $750 to shell out for the really good one, so I'd like reviews from people who own or have played the cheaper version.

Ok, I love the word, and it is perfect for a bit of comic relief, and in certain circumstances, but people are so stupid, they're like (for instance)

"this random kid I know" and I'm just thinkin, how the heck is someone you know "random"? I mean, you can say someone is a random person when you have no idea who they are and want to emphasize that, but it seems like everything is random. These people are destroying a word that is actually very funny, but now it's just trite and cliche.

I love classic rock, punk, alternative, hard rock, the whole deal, but I can't understand what kind of appeal metal and screamo have. The melodies and harmonies are hard to pick out, the singers randomly start roaring at the top of their lungs, and the whole metalhead subculture is really freaky. Why do people like the stuff?

I've got the opportunity to play basketball for the USA in some international tournament in Holland this summer. (I plainly don't have all the details yet)

I'm just wondering what the major differences in the rules and equipment are. I know the key is trapezoidal instead of rectangular, but I don't know much else. Is the ball the same size in fiba as the nba? Where is the 3 point line in fiba? Are there violations or fouls in teh fiba rules that are not in the NBA? Vice versa? Thanks in advance

There are a variety of sensations. Taste, smell, touch, etc. What I need to know is how is an itch classified. We speculated in class that maybe an itch is a form of pain sensation, but we're not sure. What kind of sensation is itch?
