  • First TV Crush?

So who was everybody's first TV crush, how old were you and what years were you watching the show?

Mine was James West (Wild Wild West) and I was like 8 or 9 and watching reruns in like 2000 or 2001, lol. He's still amazing.

  • Elizabeth I and Philip II help?

    Hey everyone,

Ok, I need help with a part of a project I need to finish for my online World History class. I had to do a time line comparing Elizabeth I and Philip II (extremely boring and time consuming.) I've got that all finished, but now I need to write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two. I don't want you to write it for me, I don't like cheating (to that degree), but if you could point out some similarities or differences about them I'd be much obliged. I've already got the basics (gender, religion, etc.) Links (wiki excluded, I've already used them) would be greatly appreciated. I know, this is easy stuff, but I seriously hate this time period and I'm sick of reading about it. My mind seemed to lose all the information I did have, I can't recall the stuff that would have been helpful, and reading it all again to find just a few things does not sound enjoyable.

    Thanks :)

  • Uncomfortable moments while watching movie?

Anyone else had an uncomfortable moment when watching a movie with your grandmother that had some adult content scenes? I remember watching Catch Me if You Can on video when I was like 10 with my grandmother and older brothers....uncomfortable doesn't even start to describe the feeling in the room at some points in the movie, lol. So who else has had this happen? With a grandmother or anybody else really.

  • Purity Rings?

I'm considering getting a purity ring (promise ring, chastity ring) and I have a few questions.

First off is it odd to get yourself one, or is this often done? I don't really want my parents getting me one (simply because it's a promise to myself and God more so than to my family, though it is to my parents as well).

Secondly, I haven't had my first kiss, much less a boyfriend, so would it be better (in a way) to wait till I have a boyfriend? I don't even really have crushes.

And thirdly, do you think this might freak my parents out? They've said they believe they're a good thing, but do you think that they're going to think that since I want to get one that I'm thinking about having sex? (which I'm not, I know I'm going to wait for marriage.)

  • Tae Kwon-Do Lessons?

Ok, I'm hoping to start some TKD (or at least some form of martial art) lessons in a few weeks. Now I'm a 15 year old female and a good bit over weight. Will this cause the course to be a LOT more difficult, or just more so? Also, will it cause me embarrassment in the classes? Or is it common to have overweight people in the beginner classes? I'd love to do it, and people say it'll help me get in shape, but I don't want to laughed at. Oh, and how much should lessons cost in Florida? Please, only answer if you know what you're talking about.

  • A Great and Terrible Beauty?

Ok, I'm just wondering if there are any Christians who have read the book and what their view of it is. One of my friends told me it was good, but I've heard it involves witchcraft and the like and I want to know what light they put in it. Do you they show the magic as something good, or something bad? I'm not allowed (not that I'd want to anyway) to read the Harry Potter books because they involve magic and show sorcerery as something good. But I've read the Twilight series and I found nothing wrong with them. So I just want to know if you think this book series is in your view something that Christian teens should stay away from. Thanks.

  • christian view point on pierced ears?

Ok, I'm almost 16 and am considering getting my ears pierced. I know a lot of people are thinking 'what does Christianity have to do with pierced ears?'. But here is my two main reasons for hesitating on getting them done.

    1. I believe that God made are bodies the way they're meant to be, without adding any more holes.

    2. They're a sign of vanity.

But I like how they look, I think they'd be fun and that I could take proper care of them. So what do my fellow Christians think? Do you believe that it's wrong, or that it really doesn't matter. It is vanity I know, but so is all jewelery and most clothes for that matter. And if it makes the person happy, and they're doing it more for themselves than for others, is it really wrong? And my parents have said in the past that I can get them done at 16, so no concerns there.

  • What should I wear to homecoming?

Ok. I'm home schooled and have never been to homecoming before, but a friend asked me to go with her and some other friends, so I'm going to get to go. I'm VERY excited, but I don't know what to wear. I'm going to talk to my friends about it, but I wanted to get some answers from people on here first. I'm not really sure what type of dresses girls wear to homecoming. Ok, here's some info on what I look like, and other important stuff about the dress.

I'm 5'5, brown hair a little past my shoulders and hazel eyes. I'm a size 14....I think, not sure really.

I have flabby arms (really need to work on that, lol) and I noticed that most dresses that girls wear for homecoming (I know a little, just not much) are sleeveless and my parents don't like me wearing things without sleeves. If they're cool with a sleeveless dress do you think I should wear one? Or something with sleeves? Or one with one of those shawl things? Or what? Keep in mind I'm pretty clueless when it comes to fashion.
