  • How do I hide a staircase entrance?

We'd like to take out the wall between the kitchen & living room to have an open living space. But .... there is a staircase leading down to the garage in between the rooms. We could put a nice railing around it and still have that open feel but, which is what we think we'll have to do unless we figure out how to conceal it. Any suggestions?

  • Can I use same phone number at two different homes?

I was just curious if it was possible to live in two different cities and still have the same phone number at both places.

Say you live in the city and have a vacation home in the mountains or desert or at the ocean - could you have a phone installed at both locations and both use the same number? That way you could plug in and not miss a call.

I have a cell phone but I'm not good at keeping it nearby - it's usually in my purse hung on the back of a chair in another room.

    Thanks for answering :)

  • Do we have to pay for neighbors fence?

Here's the problem. We owned the property and the neighbor wanted to purchase it, we refused as we'd planned to build a rental home on it. We build that home 3 years ago and we had issues with the property lines. Since the County demanded that we find those landmarks we discovered that the neighbor had build his fence WAY on his side of the property. At the back, where his fence starts it is at least 3 feet onto his own property. At the front it's at least 1 or 2 feet onto his own property.

His fence is falling apart and looks terrible. When we were building he asked us to share the cost of replacement, we refused. He call a year or so and asked us once again, and again we refused. Tonight he called and basically told us that we had to and if needed he'd get his attorney in on it. I plan on calling the DA in the morning to see what he has to say.

Now here's the kicker he is a contractor (B) and sent us an estimate for replacing the fence.

MY QUESTION IS: Since our property is not fenced in, only existing fencing on back and his on the one side. Do we have to repair his fence?

Oh almost forgot :) in his letter he states that since he has a swimming pool and the tenants have children that we have a greater lliability (saying our liability is greater than his even though he's the one with the swimming pool) Thanks for your replys -

Our property is 2 plus acres, as is his, he only wants us to replace his backyard fencing it has brick pillars so we won't have to pay for posts LOL, etc. etc. etc.

California Civil Code. 841. Coterminous owners are mutually bound equally to maintain:

    1. The boundaries and monuments between them;

    2. The fences between them, unless one of them chooses to let his

land lie without fencing; in which case, if he afterwards incloses

it, he must refund to the other a just proportion of the value, at

that time, of any division fence made by the latter.

  • What is the name of this car?

You go to the front of the car and that is where the door is. You open up and step in and sit then you close the door, windshield. It's not a large car and I believe it only held two people. I remember seeing one when I was a child but can't remember what the name of it is. I'd love to see pictures of it too.

  • Trying to remember what the title was of this Movie.?

What I remember is that everyone was kept in this village because there was a "monster"? outside the area of the town. There was no monster they just kept them in fear as they'd be in a safe environment. A girl escapes and finds out the answer then she goes back and confronts her father and, I believe, she took over the role of being the monster. Just bugging me that I can't remember the name of this film. Thank you for all answers!!!

  • Does a "will" override - replace - take-over a "revocable living trust"?

I had a revocable living trust made up about ten years ago. Since then lots of things have changed. Daughter divorced more property added, etc. So I wanted to just make a will and not pay a huge fee for a lawyer. Also I'm not convinced that a Revocable Living Trust is actually what I need. I own a few house that bring in rent which is nice for retirement. Have two children and a few grandkids. But I feel that a will should be able to cover it all.

    Your suggestions?

  • Mercy, where does it end and where does it begin?

I have a tenant that has been late almost every month and has only gotten worse this past year. They lost their job but didn't look for another because they made more on unemployment and now that has ran out and they have no money for rent or much of anything else. They haven't paid all of their rent this month and here it is another month. I've asked them to leave and they said they will be out before the end of the month. I've helped them load some stuff up and since I have a place that I can store some stuff I've offered that to them "free" for 6 months.

So my question is still where does mercy come in?

  • Will I be able to manage using a Mac?

I have owned a PC for a long time years ago I did use an Apple at work - then they went to PCs too. Since I've never used a Mac I was wondering how hard it would be to change. I play MMOG (massively multiplayer online games) and I understand that the graphics on a mac is so much nicer.

What difficulty will I have to face?

What should I be aware of before I purchase?

Any suggestions as to which Mac I should purchase? Not that I'm going to do that anytime soon.

Thanks for all the answers I know I'll be getting.

  • Taskbar not showing, help please?

My taskbar has disappeared, yikes! It shows up only when I put mouse pointer at the top but I like it there all the time.

Can anyone out there tell me how to get it back? I haven't a clue what I did to make it go away.

  • My ex-son-in-law has asked us to attend wedding. Should we go?

My youngest daughter's ex-husband is getting married within the next six months. He has asked us if we'd attend. I was actually surprised he asked. We've always gotten along with him and I think that is why we are being invited. My granddaughter will be in the wedding.

If we go will that be showing support for him and not for our daughter? Which is what another of our children have stated.

So what do you think? Go or pass?

  • Where in the Bible is this verse found?

"Those who do not take care of their own house are worse then a non believer"

Do you know where this verse is found? I just heard this mentioned and I'm sure it's not from the King James version but I'd like to know where it can be found.

    Thank you for your consideration.
