  • I have upvc door to my balcony. I have never had a key for it and now need to change the lock?

I have never been that bothered about it before, as I live on the fourth floor and it is a private balcony and not exactly a security risk. But now we are having some building work done and having scaffolding put up. It is a euro cylinder lock, and from what I can gather, I need the keys to bring the cam in line. How can I do it without the key? Your help would be greatly apprieciated!!!!! Thanks..

  • I was the victim of an assault by my ex partner. I want to withdraw my statement but the police say no..?

Basically he has been charged with ABH (on me) 2 x counts of common assault (my sister and her friend) criminal damage (he smashed my car window) and abusing a police officer. This is the first time he has been in trouble with the police and generally has never been violent. I can't stand the thought that he may go to prison for this. Although what he has done is wrong he doesn't deserve that. I called the police station and said that I wanted to retract my statement but they said the wouldn't accept a retraction. I thought I had a right to retract this statement. Is what they said correct? (this happened in the UK)

  • I’m going to court in the morning charged with drink driving. Before you judge me, please read on?

I had been out with my younger sister and her mates. My ex turned up. When it was time to leave he got v.angry cos I said that he couldn’t stay at mine. As we were about to leave, we saw him come back down the road with a metal pole. My first instinct was to get in the car and get away. I had only just pulled away from the curb when he arrived. I got out and tried to reason with him but he smashed the car window with the pole. He has been charged with ABH (he broke my finger) 2xassault (my sis and her mate) Criminal damage (car window) and being abusive to a police officer. I explained to the police what happened. I was breathalysed and was over the limit. Now I have to appear in court tomorrow and my legal aid application has been denied. I just haven’t got the money to pay a solicitor, so I'm going to have to represent myself. I’ve been reading that I may be able to get off if I can prove that it was a necessity to drive, but how do I plead? Any other advice would be welcome. Thanks.

  • Did anyone every play a game on the computer called Scoop?

In it you were a newspaper reporter and you had to get the scoop. Does anyone know if it is still available somewhere now? I used to play it at secondary school (when I should have been working!) so it would have been between 1991-1995..

  • I've installed second life, but..?

It doesn't run. It says it requires true colour - 32 bit to run in a window. When I go to control panel and display, it only has 16 bit and 24 bit. How do I get 32 bit? Is it something to do with a graphics card? Is there a way round it? Thanks

  • Where do all the wires go? (electricians please!!!!)?

I've bought a new celing light. Before I just had a light bulb hanging from the ceiling. In the celing, I have 3 earth wires, 2 Neutral (black) wires and 4 Live wires (Red). In the light fitting I have an earth, a blue (neutral) and a brown (live). I know that both the black wires should be connected to the blue. but should all 3 earth from the celingi be connected to the earth in the light fitting and should a 4 live from the celing be connected to the live in the light fitting. There is a fouth connection block provided should I need to make a loop connection. Is that what I need to do? If so how?

I know that you're all going to tell me to get an electrician, but I have put lights up in the past with no problems so do have some idea of what I'm doing!! (honest!) Would be grateful for any help!
