  • When a plane crash happens, why do we blame its model and not just that specific plane?

For example, if a Boeing 737 crash lands into the ocean, we say it was something inherently wrong with the mechanics of the 737 model.

How come we never say that maybe, the engineers who built that specific plane made an assembly error that only pertains to that specific plane? All plane models have a specific blueprint, but they don't all have the same engineers building them.

  • Is there a way to review Snapchats that you yourself have sent?

I don't care about snaps I've received, just those I sent. Thanks!

  • Met a girl in the dorm elevator?

I'm a college student who lives on campus.

Last night, when I was coming up to my room, I met a girl in the elevator who seemed pretty nice.

We briefly talked, figuring out that we live about 8 rooms apart on the same floor and then went our separate ways

What would be an appropriate way to follow up on this? I'm not looking to "get with" her. Honestly, she just seemed like a cool person that I'd want to get to know a little more (don't know too many people on my floor yet)

I feel like just showing up at her door would be weird...

  • The Great Gatsby Simpson-ized?

I remember a long time ago, watching an episode of the Simpsons that parodied The Great Gatsby.

It's been awhile since I've seen it - Homer was the Great Gatsby and Marge was Daisy.

Googling it, I found nothing. Might anyone here know?

  • Have I been friendzoned?

I've known this girl for a few months, but we've only really started getting close these past couple weeks. Today we hung out for the second time (I had asked her out to dinner, my intentions for it being a date. But we ended up going to a cafe, because she had other plans later that evening. She's an international student, so maybe a culture difference in what going to dinner means?).

Anyway, when she's around me, she laughs at most things I say, always smiles, and is interested in what I have to say.

However, today she said that she felt close enough to me that she could say pretty much anything. Given everything I've just said, does it sound like I've been friendzoned or what?

  • Am I misinterpreting something?

So I have a huge crush on this girl who I'm in a club with on campus.

We've known each other for a couple months and have talked semi-frequently, especially within the last few weeks.

2 weeks ago, we hung out for the first time. The whole time she was laughing and smiling and was standing fairly close to me.

Then yesterday, in our club meeting, I was asking her to teach me some phrases in Mandarin (she's originally from China). She asked me what I wanted to know. At first, I paused to think. But then she said "how about, I like you?". Did she just admit she likes me?

I'm just not sure what to think. She's really pretty, and I'm...well not the best looking guy around. So I'm doubting the whole situation

  • If a girl tells you...?

That you should hang out together (given that we've never hung out before), does that mean anything?

  • How to ask out a girl I barely know?

There's this girl who lives a few doors down from me in my dorm, who's really cute. Anyway, I see her a lot on the hallway and we always say hi. But I barely know, because we're both pretty busy people (I'm assuming she is), so our hallway encounters haven't really led to any real conversation.

I was planning to ask her to coffee or something, but should I even both, given that I barely know her?

  • My 3 year old cat sleeps a lot, is that normal?

He's still practically a baby, but he spends a good portion of his day sleeping. He does have random bursts of what I call "kitten energy", but it never lasts as long as I'd expect for his age. He east fine and uses the litter box just fine. A vet check a while ago proved him to be healthy, but I'm still kind of worried

  • Finding the radius of a circle, given angular and linear speed?

A math problem I have gives me the angular speed as 14RPM and the linear speed as 200MPH

I know that the radius equation is r=linear/angular, but I am confused as how to find it given these two different units. Thanks!

  • Is this a bad sign...?

So I met this girl a few days ago in a neighboring dorm hall (in college) and got her phone number. We texted for a bit and then stopped for a few days.

This morning, I texted her asking if she "wanted to grab lunch at noon" and she responded "I have a class then :\". Then I said "Oh okay, maybe some other time then". She didn't reply after that.

I know I'm probably over analyzing this, but regardless, what should I do?

  • What's the best way to ask a girl out?

I know, it's kinda a dumb question lol. But I just need some tips, how should I approach it?

    Thanks!

  • Does age really matter?

I'm an 18 y/o who likes a 15 y/o and was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask her out. Now I don't have the intent of "doing it" with her, obviously that's illegal. But I'm been having a lot of doubt because of the age difference. Should I just forget it and move on? Is it also illegal to kiss/hold hands with a girl of that age, being the age that I am?

  • Inflated left breast?

So I'm a male, with an inflated left "breast". It sticks out and all my friends are noticing and pointing it out. I've had it for over a year. It feels kinda like a regular breast, but with a small lump underneath. It's only on my left side. My right side is perfectly flat as per the male norm. I am 5"5 and weight 145 lbs, so it's not fatness...I'm quite worried. Also, it doesn't hurt, but it is somewhat sensitive

    Weird or no?

  • 18 year old w/ 15 year old?

Is this a gray area situation? Note, said 18 y/o is slightly immature for his age and said 15 y/o is slightly more mature than her age lol.

  • Is it weird for a senior to be hanging with freshmen?

Said freshmen are pretty mature for their age, and said senior is pretty immature for his xD.

There's no questionable activities going on, just like chilling at a coffee shop and talking about random stuff lol. But is it weird? (note, said senior is also with other seniors, in a mixed group).
