Solution for Clunky Yahoo Mail?
I am losing patience with Yahoo Mail. All day today I am getting error messages, slow response times (e.g. 10 seconds or more to open a single message), delays scrolling from one message to the next, etc. I have been a Yahoo Mail customer for over ten years. I am close to ditching the whole thing for Gmail. Are others experiencing this? Is there hope for Yahoo Mail?
1 AnswerSending and Receiving Messages7 years agoYahoo Mail not sending messages?
Yahoo Mail is not sending my messages. The last ten messages I have sent have not arrived at the destination e-mail. This has been the case for at least the past several hours. I have tested it with several e-mail addresses and domains. I even sent a message to myself and I did not receive it in my Inbox. Any idea what might be causing this and how I might solve it? I have contacted customer support but have not gotten any response as of yet.
Sending and Receiving Messages8 years agoAlternative to poker for a group of 4-10 people?
We started a neighborhood group of guys to get together once a month. It started as a poker group, but there isn't much enthusiasm for poker. We're trying to come up with an alternative game. I see there's a game called Dice with Buddies. Would that work with an in-person group of 4-10 people? Any other ideas for games, w/smartphones or otherwise, as an alternative to poker?
Thanks.

3 AnswersGambling8 years agoYahoo Mail search function not working?
Anyone know how I can get the search function on Yahoo Mail to work? When I enter a term, I'm getting the one e-mail I sent today but none of the previous 25 or so, some from last week and some from last year. I tried to contact Yahoo about this but their site takes me through screen after screen of automated information that does not answer this question. If there is chat or e-mail support I would try that. Thanks.
1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Mail9 years agoWhat is the Chevy Volt's real gas mileage?
It's all over the news that the Chevy Volt is rated by the EPA at 230 miles/gallon. This is obviously based on the fact that it uses no gasoline for up to 40 miles/day, so the EPA is coming up with that figure basically by guessing how people will use the car. My question is what mileage does it get after 40 miles? Suppose you take a 500-mile trip so that the gasoline engine is running the whole time -- how much gasoline will that require? This is something that should be included in the news reports but I haven't seen it.
6 AnswersChevrolet1 decade agoThermal carafe top sticks -- needs lubricant?
I have a coffee maker with a thermal carafe that is in good working order with one exception. The top to the carafe sticks such that it is very hard to remove -- I often have to use one of those kitchen grippers to get it off. I tried putting some Vaseline on it and it worked great -- for about a day. Then it got sticky again. Then I tried some plumber's lubricant, with two problems -- the fix was again temporary, and the stuff smelled bad. Does anyone have a solution for this? I'd try WD-40 but I don't think that's a good substance to have in my coffee. :)
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow do I determine how much energy my freezer uses?
We are trying to decide whether we should replace our chest freezer. It is a Frigidaire model MFC05MOBW4. On the plate it also says Amps 5.0 and 115V. Is there a way to figure out how much energy this model uses so I can compare it to new models?
Thanks.
5 AnswersGreen Living1 decade agoIs there a test to determine whether you have had the H1N1 (swine flu) virus?
Several people in my office have recently been sick. One person now has a confirmed H1N1 diagnosis. I was sick two weeks ago and did not even suspect it was H1N1. I still somewhat doubt that it was, but is there any way to test retroactively whether I had it, e.g. through the presence of antibodies?
2 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoHow do I delete one person from the Facebook Highlights section?
Maybe this is impossible. But I have a relative who goes nuts on facebook and the whole highlights section in the right column is filled with lists of celebrities he has become a "fan" of. I would like to get rid of this without deleting him as a Facebook friend. How do I do this?
2 AnswersFacebook1 decade agoWhat is the difference between having faith and pretending?
If you have faith, that means you've decided to believe something without evidence. Isn't that the same thing as pretending? I would maintain that all religions are simply engaging in an adult game of pretend.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do I make subheadings appear one line at a time in Powerpoint?
Powerpoint reveals my headings and subheadings at the same time. I researched this on Google. One option was to change the "group by" settings. I do not have this option in Powerpoint 2003. The other option was to ungroup the text. That does not work either. When I highlight text, I am not given that option. Please help! Thank you.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoSafe for kid to put videos on YouTube?
Hello,
My 11-year old son wants to make videos and put them up on YouTube. He wants to show them to his friends and see if anyone else likes them. Ostensibly, one can create an anonymous account and perhaps there is no safety issue with this. However, I wonder whether I'm missing anything. Are there any safety issues I should be concerned about?
Thanks.
5 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoYahoo mail filters -- not working for spam?
I keep getting e-mails that have the "from" and/or subject fields with a bunch of question marks in them. I want a filter that will apply to any e-mail with three question marks in a row in either of those fields. I tried *???* but that didn't work. Is there a way to do this so that something like krfv???@%dx would get deleted/moved?
Second question -- how would I filter messages with foreign language characters? I've been getting some with what look like Chinese characters.
Thanks.

1 AnswerAbuse and Spam1 decade agoCan't receive Hotmail e-mails with Yahoo mail?
I have a friend with a Hotmail account. Whenever he sends me an e-mail to my Yahoo address, I don't get it. This has been the case for several months. My Charter mail account receives his e-mails with no problem. I just did a test from my Hotmail to both my Yahoo and Charter accounts. The Charter account received it, but the Yahoo account didn't. Anyone know what the problem is?
