I am currently a supervisor at a chemical plant. I have just been offered a manager job at another plant. I have been the supervisor of 25 people. I am going to be the manager of about 150 people. There will be 6-8 supervisors reporting to me. I will report directly to the manager of the refinery. What should I do when I 1st show up as a new manager? Is there a good book I should read? How should I play it when I 1st communicate to the troops?

we were thinking of redoing it with a tiki theme or like a jimmy buffet theme. Any suggestions. We are going to be tight this year, but we know we need to invest in it. Any other suggestions? I really want to stick out in the new rental book. Less the $5,000 please. Its going on credit. Vacation rentals have been slow due to the economy.

The second step in my job interview process is called a "table top problem solving interview" What exactly is that? The letter I received says that it should take about 4 hours... Does anyone know how I can prepare? This is the 2nd step of a 3 step process. 1st was a 4 hour multiple choice test. 2nd is this problem solving interview/test. The last step is a traditional interview. I am applying for a job at a manufacturing plant.

My son is a total angel when its just me and him.

When its just him and my wife he is awful.

When it is all three of us, he is a nightmare.

I dont understand at all. Its tantrum after tantrum afer tantrum. Hes a totally different person around me though. Just to let everyone know I dont spank my son except for safety issues (eg running out in the street)

We just moved into our new house.... We have lovely oak cabinets... unfortunately the previous owner used pledge on them for 5 years (I dont know why people refuse to read instructions). They are covered with wax build up. We used Murphy's oil soap to clean them. It helped a great deal, but around the edges and scrolling it still has a layer of wax. If I sand the edges can i spot reapply the polyurethane or do I have to strip the whole cabinet door?
